Alarm bells.
Story is extremely important in an RPG, it gives context to the quests, if I won't care about the world and story because it's so bad I don't see the point.

Man, those cutscenes are so bad. What makes it worse is that the character models, lighting, etc... look so good but the voice acting delivery, animations, and writing are just junk. They remind me of Dragon's Dogma, actually.
Hopefully this game is a case of "great gameplay overshadowing bad storytelling" like DD was.

People complaining about the opening 30 minutes of an open world RPG need to take a couple steps back and chill.
I wasn't going to pile on with this but after watching it again it really is bad. Honestly it doesn't effect the game play so not a huge deal to me.

I can just imagine how this will go down previews come out in bulk praise gameplay not too many will even mention cutscenes and such but he gameplay will get pushed to the side by select quotes and that's what we'll be talking about for the rest of of the thread

Why are some people comparing the game immediately to other games while not focusing on what this game is delivering and how it is delivering it. like the loud ass walking that needs to be toned down.

This is cool, I would definitely play around with some different languages.
But as I said, I think some are really being dramatic here, just wait until more previews come up. 2 out of 3 of the cut-scenes were high quality, I'm sure this is just standard for games this big and some quest voice-acting just don't get the love they deserve, especially optional ones with little impact on the story.
But yeah, the insane guy is so bad it's almost comical! 'The voices!!! Arghhhh!!!"

It can be awesomely written and really bad voice acted.
In this case its both. Badly written and badly acted. That its bad in other RPGs shouldn't be a free pass for it to be bad here.

Really eh? Wow. I wonder why? The press seem to love it and I think it looks incredible too. Gonna be a critical and commercial hit IMO.
Writing is bad in that cut scene and I've played TW3, never felt so much cringe as much as I felt here, maybe because the visuals and models looks so good it's more noticeable I don't know.

I miss stability updates...
Suddenly worried about the game. Didn't think it would have dips in quality like this. This is at a level where quality control should have said 'Ditch the scene... not worth it.' Makes me wonder where else they may have cut corners / done a shoddy job
