Saros Hands-On Previews

Just hope this sells well otherwise Sony might close another studio.

I am optimistic. This game is probably going to be the most successful Housemarque game and will likely sell very well at full price (now that the PC is out of the picture). People who played it, some of them for 3 hours, really loved it.

And some of them saying it's actually not easier than Returnal in its complexity. It's probably less frustrating though as the runs are shorter. There is some story, to please the mainstream public ugh, but the meat of the game is still the Housemarque gameplay.

Also technically on base PS5 it looks so much better. Returnal was so disappointing there as it had a static 1080p resolution + 2 nasty upscalings, very amateurish stuff from housemarque.

If only this wasn't still a roguelite or whatever they call it!

Fuckin' SOLD!

Also, in my opinion Returnal's story was amazing. You wouldn't think you were going to find a psychological horror story on the level of Silent Hill 2 hidden inside effectively a 3D bullet-hell Rogue-lite. But that's what it was.

Explain this to me like an idiot!.

Does this mean that Returnals yearly sales are covering Saros Development costs?

It also means that over the last 4 full years, they've spent around $20 Million a year (on average) making Saros. I'm assuming they don't include marketing to their budget. Maybe they do. But it's fair to say Saros cost $80 Million or so to make. Over that same time, Housemarque made $87 million.

What's the history or context behind abusing Kumail and Rahul?
Kumail is a bit of a woke fucktard. Thinks he was saving humanity at one stage by appearing in one of those diverse Marvel films that flopped badly.

Rahul I have no idea who or what he has done other than appearing in this game. I think he is going out with Neogaf "fav" youtuber/personality/god of war "writer" Alanah Pearce.

Rahul is in the cult hit Netflix original Midnight Mass, where he plays a sheriff who converted his faith just for his wife and gets annoyed when his son wants to embrace a different faith.

Eh, never seen it to be honest. I just have no idea who he is and to be honest, don't really care. I basically think that the VAST majority of Hollywood "people" are woke fucktards who, whether they truly believe in what they say publicly or not, needs to be said so they fit into the group to get constant work.

Reskinned Returnal. Which isn't a terrible thing but lets call it what it is.

I get the game will be hard, and that's fine. I love all games including difficult ones, but it needs to be fair. The main issue i had with Returnal was it didn't respect the player's time. Alot of us don't have hours and hours a day to master a game by repeating a level ad nauseum and every time you die you go all the way back to the beginning with minimal progress to show. There are days where i may have only an hr to play, and when i do play something, i'd like to have something to show for it so i don't feel like my time was wasted. (You whippersnappers will appreciate the value of time more when you get old and fart dust like me).

I'm hoping Saros addresses this, because it looks really cool but i just don't have the time to sink into it to make zero progress because of a progression gatekeeping design philosophy.

I agree about the length of the runs in Returnal, now they are around 30mn in Saros and it's a good thing. There is still the suspend mode and multiple save slots.

Saros Includes Multiple Save Slots and the Option to Suspend a Run

you can also have multiple save game files. "One thing I thought personally is having multiple save slots. So with Returnal, I always had to clear my saves to start over. Now we have a couple of them available from the get-go, so I can have multiple runs of the game at the same time.

When I first watched the reveal trailer I just assumed this guy was the dad to the child that drowned from the first game having his own version of Returnal.
