I feel concerned about the fact that EZ allies continues to say that Aloy talks to herself alot just like the launch trailer

I feel the total opposite. I love this kind of chatter and we don't get it in enough games, I hope there's a lot of it and not just at scripted moments.

I never find that annoying tbh, I'd rather have that than a totally silent character personally, at least the character has a little personality then.

Lara in TR talks to herself occasionally, i think that's fine.i think a balance is needed though. She should not monologue to herself before, during and after literally every event just to force feed the player with explanations they should figure out by themselves.

"I have to go to that place", "this must be what they meant by X" "first i must do X"

ect.

I hope they atleast have an option to turn that off.
 
Does anyone have any footage of the game running on base ps4? Curious to see how much worse it looks than the initial reveal?

95% of the footage from previews is base PS4 footage. They restricted the recording of the 4K footage to a maximum of 3-4 minutes so it's actually pretty uncommon.

Almost all the preview footage is on base PS4. The Pro captures were limited to two minutes whereas the base was four hours. It looks better than the reveal.
 
My main concern is the human enemy AI. I have still to see them atack Aloy...
Remember almost all of these previews are playing on normal difficulty. Devs said they were inspired by monster hunter and Souls series, I think challenge is key to why they made this game as they feel strongly about strategic combat and tried to put that element in all previous Killzone games.

Look at those videos again. She talks about what to do before the action is even taken. That is clearly done to communicate what is happening in the demo/video. In actual game it will be closer to Uncharted. Unless you think GG had come up an algorithm that accuratly predicts what players will do before they do it. I understand that some people don't like it, but it is what it is.

Or it's their tutorial phase which tell player what to do.

Anyway, as long as it doesn't repeat often, I can deal with it.
 
I think what I like the most about all these new content is how aggressive the AI looks. Not that I'm looking for a hard game (I'm not) but I like smart AI's and I was fearing the robot creatures would be dumb!

Glad to know they act like a real threat, running fast and dealing decent damage with heavy attacks. It seems there will be recquired a smart approach against them until realizing the best way to deal with each creature, beforing becoming OP of course (I think there will be a point you will outperform most of them easily - as most these games do).

Guess it's just down to personal preference. I wouldn't mind if she talked a lot, I like chatty characters in these cinematic type games.

I think I've watched every single bit of preview footage and she doesn't talk as much as she did in the stage demos. That's said, I really like the talking. Silent characters are a bit boring to me.
 
Hmmm, the videos aren't very exciting outside of the graphics. This went from one of my most anticipated games of the year to a big maybe.

I'll wait to read in depth impressions after release.
 
Why is the compression so bad in all the youtube videos? I know there is a loss in quality when uploading to Youtube, but it feels much worse in all the videos for this game even at 1080p.
 
Guys can you adjust the difficulty on this game? Looks like too damn easy no? Enemies are easy to kill specially human ones, i´m checking some videos and damn i hope we can bump it up.
 
I'm LTTP but a few things:

Oh look another pointless and idiotic comparison of between two unrelated games on the previous pages. And it's damn amusing how one cutscene can speak for the quality of an entire game; it lmirrors how we judge people in real life from one action ( or an entire group of people from one bad apple).

Anyway, black-leg and DriftingSpirit, do you have any list of notable previews apart from the aforementioned cutscene that I can watch later? I noticed some of them are missing in the OP last I checked.

As for the rather simplistic dialogue, I'm chalking it up to humanity's speech regressing after a 1000 years of improper learning infrastructure; no proper form of education. Not the way we learn English and talk like we talk today that is

Some quick maths, you need 81 skill points to unlock every skill. I'm guessing you get 1 skill point per level, which will mean you'll have 18 unallocated if the game lets you reach level 100. Seems like a waste.
How do you even know level 100 is the max? And there is also the possibility of requiring more than one ability point to get a skill after a certain level.

And as for the whole "she talks to herself too much bit", you know who else talks to himself a lot? Geralt.
 
Even the worst Witcher 3 scenes are better than most of the scenes I have seen for Horizon. Both in terms of voice acting and facial animations.

lol not really, W3 graphics were pretty mediocre, facial animations are worst than late ps3 games like Last of Us or Uc3, way worse.

They only have 5 skills (each cost 1 skill point) unlocked at level 7, with no skill points available to use. Doesn't seem like getting skill points is as simple as getting 1 per level.

I think max level was 51... I think I heard it in one of the vids someone mentioned it briefly. Although I may of misheard, it was a v.quick passing comment about the skill tree.

I didn't say anything about Naughty Dog games. The person I quoted was comparing to W3 to Horizon and W3 is much better.

I love W3 to death, but let's not get hyperbole here.

Alright, show me an example of terrible W3 dialogue scene. This is the best dialogue scene I have seen for Horizon. Can you give me an example from W3 that is much worse than this?
 
There has to be a way to push these HUD elements further to the edge of the screen.

Watching ign footage and it's pretty bad.
