I have a feeling "sources" are
A) feeding false info to journalists to discredit them
B) leaking possible plans to weigh public response

I wonder if this is a false story sent to Reuters as a way to discredit them after "Covering Trump the Reuters Way."

I tend to trust Reuters more than other outlets. I am reasonably confident in their ability to discern what sources are reliable. But these are weird times.
 
I guess at least the US is becoming explicitly and blatantly honest about being a white supremacist society.

This will also be a signal to all the white supremacist groups to come out the woodwork and start cracking skulls.

If this news is correct, I expect the federal government to try to obstruct gathering of hate crime statistics. We may not know how the numbers change, unless organizations like the SPLC can push through the obstruction.

It makes sense tho; its less about him being racist...he does that effortlessly, but more about having a BIG headline.

To say he's making this HUGE! THE BEST! "new" organization solely focused on those Islam terrorists gives his base the hard on, and as a result gives him a hard on.

So Trump is protecting American citizens by focusing the attention of this organization away from the group of people most likely to perpetuate terrorism in the United States?

I don't normally like making threads but I think this is something that needs to be spread around. If anyone was still in denial that America is being led by WS regime (who now don't even feel the need to conceal it anymore), then I don't know what else to tell you...

Donald Trump's administration is reportedly pushing to erase neo-Nazis and white supremacists from the US government's counter-extremism programme by moving it to focus exclusively on Islamist terrorism.

American officials briefed on the proposed changes told Reuters the Countering Violent Extremism (DVE) initiative could be renamed to "Countering Radical Islamic Extremism".

The reclassification would remove its work combating far-right attacks and mass shootings, such as the massacre of black churchgoers in Charleston, which are rarely classified as terrorism by American authorities.
