This is the end game. People really won't know until we are on the other side of this presidency how important their vote really was.
These are mostly contained with the executive branch, which is supposed to enforce/execute the law. Somewhere in a passed law there's provisions for the Dept of Homeland Security to do stuff, but the exec brach has a lot of wiggle room as long as it's not blatantly illegal.
e.g. this change would probably not be blatantly in violation of religious persecution laws because they can say that it only targets extremists (but it's up to Bannon and co to determine what that means). There's probably no provision to specifically investigate certain groups.
America is turning into a vengeful demon.

It's just crazy how openly they are moving. They have no fear and no belief that they can be defeated in their attempts to forward their agenda. This has always been the worst part of Trump's political success to me - not that the man himself won (which is shit unto itself) but the reality of what his win meant and those who were also uplifted because of it.
Every time I heard someone say Hilary and Trump were both as bad as each other or make some other disparaging or dismissive comment about her or said they would rather not vote at all, I just shook my head and and knew what it would lead to. War is a short-term economic boost, and it also is a excuse to continue to want more funding and constant upgrades to equipment that isn't really all the needed, and to expand even more so, that isn't all that needed. It's also worth nothing that there tends to be a lot of pro-Israel sentiment within the military, and with Iran out of the picture (or thrown into chaos) it would be a big boon for the Israelis.

yea. Iran is not Iraq, they are pretty powerful militarily. Not only would we be crippling ourselves financially but we would be worsening relations with all the countries that signed the nuclear deal. Plus, a lot of Iranians like America. I thought we were supposed to be enhancing America's influence, not destroying it. War with them over some bullshit missiles is going to be the mistake of the century. A non brainwashed 10 year old could see that.
Their stated reason is that Iran is testing ballistic missiles. (which they are allowed to do under the deal). But I suspect it's larger than that. I've heard about people wanting to go to war with Iran for years and years. idk why. I think these missiles are just the excuse they've been waiting for.

As someone who has been in the military there are some people who just love the idea of going to war. Bragging rights, medals whatever. It does indeed sound crazy. Lot of rednecks probably love the shit Trumps doing. I've seen those same crazies under the Bush administration. They also more pay for being in a wartime situation.

The "average soldier" is definitely itching to go to warthe first time. The current crop of junior enlisted likely haven't been deployed, while nearly all of their superiors have been. There's a lot of value placed on not being a "cherry" in the military. At least in the Infantry. If you haven't been, you're lacking.
Makes sense, the government wouldn't want to prosecute itself.
