Why is my PS4 no longer recording gameplay? Its set to record 15 minutes but whenever i hit the Share button now to bring up the menu and then crop and share footage, its no longer saving the gameplay from the last 15 minutes. Is this a 4.5 beta issue or was a setting reset someplace..?? I didnt have this issue before.

I've heard late March or April. I'm guessing the later because only 1 month of beta testing seems short.

For external hard drive support, has anyone experimented with cluster sizes? I know for exporting media to a USB stick, I needed to format it to use 1MB clusters (or sectors, I forget the terminology) or else i'd be waiting HOURS to copy stuff over.

It reformats the drive when you use it for external game storage, AFAIK, so however you have it set up beforehand shouldn't make any difference.

I don't think you can ever change the cluster size for the extended storage disk. The PS4 will format it (and set the cluster size) however it damn well pleases, and you'll like it... or you won't have an extended storage disk.

Did your trophy list merge? I would love that to be a feature in this update.
I've been having this problem and you know what, you're probably right. Totally forgot about that option.
Update: I already had my power settings set to never turn off USB power so that isn't it. Shoot

Yes sending messages through ps app on phone is the best solution. When you open the photo on ps4 messages it goes full screen and is near perfect quality and you don't have to hide UI.
And yes PS4 UI is 4k and looks great with high res wallpapers.

I went ahead and downloaded the Playstation app but I am not sure how to send a message to myself..when I go to messages it doesn't bring up my user name at all
I think you have to send the pic to another user and then open the conversation on your PS4.

Oh man I didn't even think of this, that sucks, I get it but still it just didn't cross my mind. Do the ps4 fans still stay on with usb power on? Is the external disk always spinning?
This is dumb. The Xbox puts the drive to sleep and activates when it needs to. Sony better updates this.
That means you are keeping the power to USB ports enabled on xbox. Right?

Having issues here setting the wallpaper as my background..I went on the wallpaper thread from the PS4 itself..screenshot a few images..then I went to my capture gallery and I see the images there..but when I go over it it only gives me an option to share the screenshot(like through twitter and facebook) nothing about having the screenshot as my own background image so Im not sure what I have to do
I mean there isn't even an option on Xbox to disable USB power.
I checked and have full power to USB enabled on my Pro anyway. Now the question is does the PS4 support sending a sleep command to the drive so it powers down when not in use?

No Im not in beta..I just wanted to take one of those images and have it as my custom background..but when I go to the gallery and I click on it it doesnt give me an option to set as wallpaper..is this only for the 4.50 firmware or can we do this with a lower firmware
Custom wallpapers are new in 4.5

Oh so I have to wait then..I just thought I could capture an image and then put it as a wallpaper on the PS4..but for some reason under gallery it has it as multiple images, but will wait til the new update comes out makes sense now

Not sure if this has been gone over already so I apologize if this is old news.
I took my external HDD from my Pro and plugged it in to my OG PS4 with the beta firmware. It won't allow a game to be stored on both hard drives, so I had to delete the dupes from my system storage.
Not a big deal for me in this situation,but it throws a wrench into the whole idea of being able to take the HDD to a friend's house. If there are duplicate games on their machine someone is going to have to re download or you're SOL.
Hope they find a better solution eventually.

In theory they'll be faster. USB3 is faster than SATA2.
