Sorry for the double-post, but The Pokémon Company has announced that Pokkén Tournament will be part of this year's Pokémon World Championship circuit. I wouldn't be surprised if the community's dedication during the donation drive swayed TPC's decision.

That would have likely been decided long before the donation drive. They just got a huge arcade patch, which wouldn't have been whipped up because of this.

The problem is that the Wii U version doesn't have that update, & the fact that the Wii U is dead gives TPC & Bandai Namco zero reason to push the update to the Wii U. As such, I wouldn't be surprised if a Switch port with the new characters was on the way.
