Amazon charges you a customs fee at checkout, and you don't pay anymore even if your local authorities charge more than what Amazon estimated (which is often the case, I've done this many times before, never had to pay more, even when they mistakenly don't charge me any import fees at checkout and my local customs do), and if the actual customs charge is less Amazon refunds you the difference.
The above is from Amazon.com but it's exactly the same for all Amazon sites.
Amazon Japan charged me a MUCH lower fee than what I typically get charged for a product of this value when I use a freight forwarder. Yes it might not be worth it for you if the Switch is officially released in your country/region, but in my case (I'm in the Middle East) I have to import it from somewhere, and I compared between Amazon US, UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, and Japan... And Japan is $100 cheaper for me than getting it from Europe.
