Which part of the Zelda season pass are you most excited for?

50~€ for the "whole" game. 20 for a dungeon and a few upgrades/updates ?
Yeah sure... No thank you. Well... could be only 10, wouldn't change my opinion.
If there was room for story, should have been in the first release.
I'll assume it's not interesting/important.

Tell that to the Witcher. This is not a good stance. The fact that it's not out until winter gives me hope it will be beefy.

I smell a new Jimquisition coming up....
For doing something that every other develpoer/publisher has done in one form or another, including the critical darlings of this forum (Naughty Dog/Sony Interactive Entertainment, FromSoftware/Bandai Namco, and CD Projekt Red)?

People wanted Nintendo to get with the times. You get your "actual" account system and region free, and you also get paywalled P2P online and season passes. It's like these season passes help mitigate infrastructural costs. Or they're a money play that everyone in the industry has now adopted. Either way, consumers vote with their wallet every time.

Kinda miffed this isn't included with the Master Edition. :/ This also doesn't seem like something I need to pick up immediately. No to mention my Master Edition will be on a shelf til probably this summer.

Anyone one want to buy a master sword replica

It was pretty obvious there was going to be DLC. Nintendo invested a lot into this game so it's not just going to be a one-off.

I really hope hard mode is something a lot more interesting than "enemies do double damage" if we're paying for it.

I trust Nintendo to get this right and add significant content for the money, I'm sure they wouldn't want to poison the well on their most hyped release of all time with exploitative dlc. I have a feeling that the new map feature mentioned in the summer release is some kind of treasure map capability and a well done hardcore mode, perhaps spiced up with something like death runs or limited respawns would change up the game a lot. Either way I have faith that Nintendo will provide good stuff here, even though it means I probably won't pick it up until the second pack is released.

It's way to early to announce dlc; however, this will ensure attachment to the game and keep it fresh longer which I'm ok with.

Video games have changed. Instead of jumping from one game to the next publishers want people to buy a game and paly it forever. In the case of Nintendo's biggest game ever it makes sense to offer incentives to continue playing, but this is paid DLC so it's a bit different of course.

FWIW I'm confident in saying people don't need to worry. BoTW will be full of content, will have a complete story and will be worth the price. The additional stuff sounds interesting. The bonus on launch are super lame, of course.

I trust Nintendo enough with this. And it's Zelda. They don't want to anger their fans with Zelda so this should be worth it, if you want to play more Zelda that is.

More content for my most anticipated game ever? I'm not usually a DLC person (Witcher 3 and Destiny being the exceptions), but I'm psyched! Hard mode should be in from the start, but the new dungeon and new story (what if we go back in time? Maybe even play as Zelda?)... Can't wait!

i need to let emotions go but i'm tented to cancel my preroder.
Buy wii u zelda for now and wait goty edition to go switch....

this needed to be in the collector edition... i doubt it is.
Horizon gets even more love now.

Someone should probably confirm that this DLC is for both the Switch and the Wii U.

I have a sneaky suspicion that it is only for one...

I know this is controversial to a lot of long-time Zelda fans... i'm of two minds about it myself

All I can say for certain is that I will buy every piece of Zelda DLC they release. I guess I'm a part of the problem!

From the article but not in the OP
The Expansion Pass will be available for both the Nintendo Switch and Wii U versions of the game and are identical. Content packs cannot be purchased individually.

So you're good.

and so the last bastion falls

It fell with New Super Mario Bros. U lol

I mean, we shouldn't have any problem with DLCs if they're properly made. I was pretty happy about buying TW3, NSLU or MK8 DLCs, but for example i never bought any Smash character or Pikmin maps because i wasn't interested in those. Hopefully this will be good.

I prefer Zelda games to be self contained, but what are you going to do, every other game gets away with it. Just hope they're not holding this dungeon now to release later as dlc. 4 main dungeons which is the rumor sounds light on that front.

So even Zelda is not safe from this Season Pack sh*t anymore ? That's sad.

(I know Mario Kart 8 also had DLCs. But they doubled the game content, and were announced once the main game was out...)

Games with DLC are incomplete?
Why didn't you mention the new story?
I did after editing my message. I remembered right after posting the first message.

And the thing with DLC is that it will never be a closed topic. You can't say "it's good" or "it's bad". I personaly want everything in a game directly, if it's not in the game, it has nothing to do in it later. But that's only because I don't associate DLC with some types of games. I wouldn't by 5 extra pages to a book so I know more about the story (for example).

I prefer a full new other game. But I kinda understand why people are happy.
It's just that it doesn't make me feel the same. On the contrary it's making me disappointed.
If there were this type of DLC announced for Xenoblade 2, it would be even worse I guess. (Japanese DLC for X were already hard to swallow)

I'm getting the Wii U version at launch, but considering I will buy a Switch at some point I may just get this for that instead...

Nobody uses that in general terms though. More like, "Nintendo, stop using old hardware and compete with actual modern consoles so you get third party support."

But unless you're fresh off the gamefaqs boat, you already know that Nintendo wouldn't get third party support even if they put out an identical corebox ps4. And you'd also know that the Switch is easily one of the highest end/newest mobile devices there is.

I suppose Hard Mode not being part of the initial package might be somewhat understandable since it's probably not at all easy to rebalance the game considering how fucking huge and involved it is. I think back to the interview not long ago where they talked about how changing ever so slight variables within the engine to accommodate for unique puzzles would completely change other deliberate elements elsewhere in the game.

Hopefully this means it's not just a simple "mirrored" world with extra damage kind of mode.

Oh boy, if they make Zelda playable in the 'new original story' and not in the main game, that would be such a power move.

Even Nintendo is selling nebulous season passes these days. Oh well.

edit: really have to wonder if Iwata would have allowed this

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free
This further confirms to me that there wont be a new mainline Zelda for a long-ass time and that the team will be tackling a new IP next, while a small subset will work on the DLC.

poor content for the money. 1 dungeon??

Guess you already played and finished the dungeon ?
