No, on the people they hired to help with writing and quest design. The lead creative director of New Vegas and writer of Honest Hearts is the lead writer, as well as CDPR talent to help with quests and such.
 
Man I'm really excited for this one, and I'm happy to see the story and Aloy were very well received. Here's hoping the rest of the reviews have a similar vibe. I could really see this becoming the next big franchise for Sony

Sorry that was rude on my part. My point is that I just don't see a lot of people going after the game on gaf . Just been seeing a lot of praise. Either way I'm excited.

Apparently the CDPR designer responsible for side quest narratives was hired for HZD.
 
I gotta say something these Horizon threads are getting really annoying and it's not cause people are saying something you see as negative, it's because every time someone does the rest of you jump down their throats. Mention Ubisoft, 5 posters jump on them, mention Far Cry, same story. That is getting so annoying, not everyone is out to get this game. This is getting just a tad ridiculous, let people voice their opinion.

I have been waiting for this for over 2 years because it is the most exciting new IP have seen in a long time. My annoyance with people constantly shitting on the game is a fairly recent thing. If that is too hard for you to comprehend then sorry I can't explain it any better.

I've said my piece on this and I stand by it so we can move on now.

Getting really annoyed with ppl jumping on ppl voicing their opinion of other ppls opinion. It's a tad ridiculous.

some people that actually enjoy far cry are kinda happy it's a bit similar.
but do you really expect anyone to take an opinion like this seriously?
"So what I'm getting from all this is that this is basically a prettier Far Cry Primal with robots?"

I remember the reveal at E3 2015 and even with announcements such as FF7 remake (one of my all time favorite games btw), Shenmue 3, and The Last Guardian. This game was the one that had me the most hyped. So I'm right there with you with this being my most anticipated game, in my case since The Last of Us.

It's expect in some ways since for the past year every HZD thread has turn into shit some way or the other .
Come monday hopefully it will be the last of this.

Just look at the trend of every Horizon thread, seriously look at it. It's the way people respond to each other, not that they are responding. Of course there are shitposts, but seriously some of the stuff that gets quoted like 50 times in these threads aren't even bad.

Glad a new franchise can show the real potential of "open-world" rpgs.
I really hope Days Gone will continue this trend. Multiplayer modes and useless graphic standards (1080p 60 fps can go off a cliff) are dragging western game design into a garbage wasteland.

When arguments come down to "you're a Sony hater" or "people just love shit posting this game" that's not really beneficial to any discussion, posters digging into others post histories trying to show "evidence" of their fanboyism which in the end don't really show anything damning, I mean come on.

nah I feel you I was just having a bit of fun. Thing is this is a video game discussion board mate. This is serious buiness to some. It isn't a new phenomenon or specific to HZD. New franchise + exclusive + good media previews = insanity more often then not.
 
From everything I've seen about Aloy, she seems kind of boring. She's a generic good guy who defies her culture to save her people, meh. I'm hoping there's a spark, some sort of quirk she has that we haven't seen yet that makes her an interesting and unique character.
 
I'm getting sucked into the Hype for this guys. Glad to see an encouraging review.

I did some freelance tech support work on Thursday and made some spare cash to get this game on day one. Was torn to wait for mass effect, but I have made up my mind.

I am stoked!

From what we know she defiers her people to find out more about the world and her self.
Also there not really her people since she is a outcast to them .

I'll come for the review links that's it. Not gonna waste time debating back and forth once a bad score is in amoung a bunch of good ones or a site giving it too low a score or goal posts being moved to the other side of the galaxy nah not worth it.

The review is great, every single people who actually played the game are saying it's a good game, but you are still here saying " Guerilla can't make a good game, it's impossible ".

I've been following the last few Horizon thread because I'm curious to see how this new AAA exclusive IP ends up doing. It's a rare thing to see from the industry these days and it's cool to watch potential new big franchises from the start. I also want another good game on the market for whenever I'm craving to play an open world game.

It's kind of sad how people are constantly trying to dismiss any positive impression about this game. Any sort of praise from the media is met with tense skepticism. All of the well-written impressions and experiences by The Lamp, SlasherJPC, MiamiWesker, etc (people who have clearly aren't blinded fanboys and can give honest opinions) in the impressions thread are ignored by the concerned people.

Is this game allowed to be good?
