I gotta say, that tutorial puzzle was retarded. If it's the one where you get the palm strike he's referring to. It tells you "hang from the middle of the powered machine and palm strike." Meanwhile you are standing in the middle of a big machine, and the piece they're referring to you have to climb out of the machine and climb a wall to get to.

There was an icon in the minimap pointing you to the machine outside of that pit, but took me a minute to notice it. Not a great puzzle though. Certainly not going to make me forget about some of the stuff in BoTW.

Playing this Game on Quality mode Series S is tortute...

I saw a video of it and honestly it seems doable to me especially compared to performance mode. Jesus. Some parts were just texture less, absolutely ridiculous.

I've got about 8 hours into the game so far, and it's a really obtuse game, not a game for yellow paint gamers :messenger_winking_tongue:. I'm on PS5 Pro, so it looks and runs well. The story is pretty simple. There are so many paths you can take in this game, it's overwhelming. The sandbox is huge, and what I'm currently enjoying is the unarmed combat. I roll into bandit camps and just start slamming dudes lol, throwing people off cliffs is fun too. If you're looking for a deep and emotional story that will make you cry, then move on.

Controls ain't great, but I've been able to work through them fine. I can see folks wanting to refund, however, if the controls are too annoying for them.

Haven't played yet but just seeing some of the videos on the game, it *looks* like a game that feels bad to control.

Let's see how it is in person.

How are they compared to RDR2?
Rdr2 controls are intuitive. They added lag on purpose to give it a weighty feel.

Crimson desert on the other hand feels like it was designed by someone who has never played a game in their life. Someone whose every instinct is wrong. Someone who hasn't played a game since the ps2 era when game controls were this obtuse. Its like every intuition they had was wrong.

I can list examples but you really have to play it to understand just how odd it feels. Literally everything about the menu navigation and controls is off. Up is down, left is right, its kinda funny actually.

Is there a reason why everything looks brand new in Crimson Desert? The buildings. The streets. The clothes, the armor, the shields, the weapons. Everything. Even the trees and bushes look like they are made from plastic and just placed there. And not just new, but generic.
There was always something that bugged me about the ingame footage that I couln't put my finger on and I think this is it. The world, while technically beautiful, feels very artificial and not lived in.

Better, imo. Not as sluggish.

The basic controls are exactly like any other game. The tutorials show using LB to point to where you want to jump and LB to point to who you want to talk to and such, but LB in those cases are really unnecessary. That threw me off at first as well. Just push jump if you are not wanting precision jumping. Or just press talk when near someone you want to talk to. The LB aiming function isn't really necessary. People also made a big deal about toggling running, but I don't see the problem there at all.

I haven't done much combat other than the opening section so perhaps that's where things get wonky with the controls. I'll have to wait and see.

YouTubers are at least (for the most part) working for themselves. Working as a "game journalist" for a pitiful wage is straight up cuck behavior at this point. It's why there is absolutely no one worth listening to in professional games journalism. They are almost universally mentally ill and effeminate losers who are afraid of going against any kind of consensus. Anyone worth their salt has gone independent.

And that "less education" comment is hilarious.

besides a lot of "game journalists" dont even like games, they at most play roblox and fortnite, meanwhile youtubers are generally passionate gamers.
