Switch up on Amazon.de - 329,99€

Since you're posting in the thread about the European orders, might as well point out that Nintendo is not sticking to the traditional 1:1 pricing, unlike the others.

It's not on Nintendo, but on individual retailers/countries. Switch in France is 300 euro tax included (and effectively even lower with bundles/credit back offers), that's equivalent to 319 US dollars, which is less than the price with tax in most US states. So it's actually better than 1:1 pricing in some parts of Europe. Blame your German government or other market forces, I don't think it's not Nintendo's fault.

Besides that, with an Amazon account you can easily order from Amazon.fr and get the cheap price.

I wouldn't be surprised if Amazon France made nothing out of each Switch sale at 300.

Sorry about angry post....but Nintendo need to stop this .
launching overpriced products at insane price & zero game support in next years.
I'm done with dust collectors , I need something what I can play on.....

Then just buy a PC or a Ps4 then?!

Also. The 3ds has huge game support.

1. Other companies stick to the 1:1 pricing. Poor attempt to deflect from you.
2. We have the 3DS/Wii U pricing to compare to. I'd also add that if we are intent on using exchange rates, the yen exchange rate is the relevant here, no?
3. Crying about how people should not criticize Nintendo is just sad.

We could also add that Nintendo is not legally forbidden to do the same as Sony and Microsoft regarding setting the price just because they screwed up in the past.

In France it's basically 299 everywhere now except Micromania because everything is more expensive there

Profit margins on consoles are generally thin for retailers. Thanks to the competition in France (which is great for us, don't get me wrong) it must be even worse. But since one can't actually do anything with a Switch alone they get at least one game sale out of it I'd imagine.

Yo, i just realized that this weekend is the last weekend we'll be without a switch. Eery.

My hype is growing, the closer we get to release. I've been remote playing my PS4 on my PC a lot recently, for not-hogging-the-Living-Room-TV purposes.
The Switch is gonna be amazing for the breaks i take off playing Horizon.

REPOST:

GUYS!

I´m canceling my Switch pre-order.

Unless one of you wants it?

It would be ready for Pick-Up on launch day.

NRW.

Anyone interested?

(Will post this a few more times)

Amazon Spain just sent me an email saying that Zelda will only arrive on the 3rd and not in the 2nd. The switch still says on the 2nd bit I'm afraid now I'll receive another email delaying that too. Bummer.

Edit: aaaaaand it's the 3rd for the switch too 😢😭

Yeah, just got it too. Bummer.

It's horrible, gonna have to wait like a pleb :(

"Good News! Sadly, the delivery of your Switch console got delayed beyond its official launch day on Mar 4th, but we could expedite the shipping of your copy of The Legend of Zelda - Breath of the Wild so it will arrive on March 1st!"

I also have two preorders (both colors) that I can try to pass on to anyone here. It would be by way of changing the shipping address on the order, but I'm not sure if the website would allow me to. Because I currently have them set to ship internationally and I noticed Amazon's system doesn't play nice when trying to change the country a sold-out item ships to. But I can try to do it first before requesting payment to see if it works.

I also have my Switches coming on March 2nd!

However, there is threat of a dockworker strike happening soon and I am paranoid about that delaying delivery. Tell me it's not gonna happen, GAF!

That's awesome. Just hope Nintendo doesn't take it away from me lol

The sooner I talk.. Amazon ES updated all Switch orders (some say because of complaints from other retailers) to March, 3rd delivery. :(

Since this is the amazon.de thread,
I wanna ask if there's people from hamburg in this thread that are getting a switch.

If so, pm me! Looking for online friends for mk8, arms, fast rmx, etc.

I am, and I am. Will use the same name as on GAF, so feel free to add when the time has come.

edit, also what Oti said.

Hi. Is this still on? Where have you preordered from and for how much?

Here too :)

I have one ordered from Amazon.de and one from France to make use of the price difference. Both gray though...
Wouldn't make sense to hop on yours too I guess. Even if I'm warming up to the colored Joy Cons.

aye, in your case i'd rather just keep the french one - which saves you 30(?) € and get a set of neon joycons that you'll eventually need anyways for 4 player purposes.

Yep, that's my plan. Including Zelda it's more like 40-50 Euro saved.

Also I'm hoping for orange Joycons somewhere this year and will be holding out for those.

Much like the purple GC I think that the neon Switch will become the "iconic" look eventually.

Yep, possibly. I just hope they won't take as long as they did with different colored Wiimotes to release new colors.
I like the neon ones, but I would go nuts for GCN orange.

Well it's not impossible, but they haven't done GCN orange since... the GCN isn't it. Same as GCN purple.

Unless they really feel like going for GCN retro on purpose, chances are new colors coming for Joy-Cons at first will be usual stuff like black, white, pink, green, yellow.

Personally I would like translucent to match the Pro controller theme.

meh, i feel - as opposed to how they designed the Wii and Wii U, they're already committed to a far more 'playful' approach to the console. So i wouldn't be surprised if they went a bit crazier with the color selection. I don't see them doing black or white controllers before something like green or even pink.
Whoever wants a 'serious' / 'low key' Switch has the grey joycons already.

That could well be. Just wanted to illustrate that GCN orange seems too specific and uncommon to have good chances of happening. It's a good color though.

I would like that yellow like a N64 controller had.

Neon Yellow/Neon (dark) Green please!

I know - and even that one never came to Europe :(

Hopefully they will be better than the colored Wiimotes - they were pretty much all horrible.

Regarding the price disparity between germany and france: it's more or less the same as the 3ds launch back in 2011. Pre-order price was 250 euro for both but amazon france was quick to drop the price to 229 whereas amazon germany kept the initial price. But a few days before launch (like 3 or 4) amazon germany lowered their price as well to 229 + 1 (or 2?) free game(s)...

Probably won't happen here. The Nintendo Classic Mini also didn't drop in price on Amazon.de, and the Switch sold out on there. Amazon does regional prices.
