PS4 System Software Update 4.50 Features Detailed

Anybody else getting this problem? On Dark Souls 3 when i play the game from the very beginning (new game). The initial prerendered cutscenes, freezes every 10 secs or so for at least a second or two. Its like its buffering and this only happens when i play it of the external drive (which is a Seagate 4TB ST4000LM016 2.5" drive, which benchmarks faster than my Samsung Spinpoint M9T ST2000LM003 drive) but not when i move the game back to the internal drive, then the freezing goes away. I think its the USB 3.0 throughput, i know its supposed to be faster than the base PS4's internal SATAII connection but i think there's some funny business going on here. I also get the same freezing/staling on the OS when scrolling through all my games. I hope this is fixed. Anybody else experience this or can test either (or both) on their system?

I'm playing it installed on a 4 TB WD mypassport external, and it's running fine.

So it's probably not a USB issue.

Whenever I turn my console on from rest mode it says the external drive was improperly removed and makes me repair it. I have the supply power to USB ports during rest mode setting on. Hopefully this is fixed for the final release.

Hopefully you actually post this in the beta forum and not a random game discussion board.

I don't have this problem (Vantec NexStar 3.1 enclosure, bus powered). Have you checked the beta forums to see if others are having the same problem, maybe with the same enclosure/external HDD?

It's been like 3 weeks since beta launch, I've heard the window from beta to launch in terms of ps4 os firmware is about ~4 weeks? Perhaps this one, given its potential implications, will be in beta for longer...

I just started DS3 again yesterday but I want that boost mode mang...come on.

im using usb power external as well and it said that to me a couple times, so i reported it to sony in the beta forum. But it hasnt done it to me since that first time :/

They didn't give any changelog from initial Beta 2 to Beta 3 either. Stupid move if you ask me, keeping testers in the dark...

What's the point of a beta then?
The point is, the real data is collected automatically. User feedback is welcome and will be mined, but the real testers still sit at Sony's headquarters, analysing data from remote test PS4s. ;)

That said, with a changelog user feedback could still be improved.

Yep. Seriously, what the hell is the new notification list meant to be? It's worse in literally every way.

Before that I just went directly to check downloads, but now I have to scroll the whole things, maybe they want to force us to check the whole sections but in an indirect way lol

Haven't been watching this too closely, but have people in the Beta been able to try 3D Blu-rays with PSVR? If so, what are the impressions?
