Milo Yiannopoulous resigns from Breitbart over pedophilia comments

...what? The line is "The power of PATTY compels you!"

This is a double edged sword for the LGBTQ community. For one thing, Milo can't be used as the alt-right's claim that they have a gay friend and like minded person. On the other hand, the alt-right can use Milo as an example that they can't trust any gay people based on the fact that the one gay person they liked turned out to be an outspoken pedophilia/pederast apologist. And others still will just defend him, fake news, all that jazz.

They'll hate the LGTBQ community either way. Its not like Milo being a stand up guy or a monster really matters to them in the scheme of things. He was a tool, one of the "good ones", a weapon they could use against the left to show that they weren't bigoted or hateful. They were racists before Milo, they were racists during Milo, and they'll be racists long after Milo is gone.

o1-B aren't especially hard to get anymore. Many youtubers, twitch streamers, and esports people are on it. Milo being on it is not shocking.

They're actually extremely difficult to get, it's just those people meet the requirements. O-1 visas have the most stringent interview and proof process of any visa classification in the US. Milo having one is not super surprising -- he's a prolific writer and commentator with an obvious following -- but don't confuse the fact that he and his employer were willing to retain an immigration lawyer and go through the process with the O-1s being easy to get.

I've hated Milo for over 2 long years (anyone remember when he reviewed Dragon Age?) and he's never ceased to reach lower and lower depths of scum. I cannot be satisfied till he's completely and utterly broken and even that won't undo the damage he's done.

Looking at Breitbart's Technology News, it seems like half the articles posted are blatant spam about of Milo's writing and appearances. It's hilarious that he was allowed to use that section of the site for such obvious self-promotion.

Maybe losing influence over Breitbart Tech will have a more negative affect, since that's clearly putting a lot of eyes on him.

Sure hope people don't look at this and think that this makes Breitbart look good suddenly

The hilarious thing is no one will benefit at Breitbart but all the milo-only fans are so pissed at them. The rift is only deepening. I believe it is time for what they call 'kek'.

I'm not even sure Milo is having a bad week in spite of losing his book deal, his job and his high profile speaking engagement.

He loves attention and he's getting plenty of it. The only way to win is to ignore him. So please, do that.

I do wonder if his appearance on the show got some people to dig around a little extra... We'll never know, to be fair.
A lot of people think Milo resigning is an attempt to draw attention to pedophilia so he can finally take down the committers of #pizzagate. They make about as much sense.

There is no double edge here. It's not like the alt-right or Milo were advocating for LGBT causes while he was their poster boy. Milo was just on Maher's show going on about the dangers and degeneracy of trans people.

Nothing of value is lost here.

Not. A. Thing.

The NeverTrump conservatives are the ones that dug this up and destroyed him, they've been trying to it since forever rather than spouting the nonsense about censorship.

He will have lost the timing on capitalizing on the Berekely protests to sell books.

Not ignoring him just did that, made him lose his job, and be shunned by part of his base. How can you see this and say that "just ignore him" was the right way to go?

NO!

Unless you really think the conservative group that sunk him cares more about an appearance on Maher than they do about him being invited to speak at CPAC (which happened at around the same time) we can be pretty damn sure Maher deserves no credit for any of this.

Maher damn near normalized a bigot. The only reason this has a good ending is he got lucky with the timing of a conservative group doing what he should have done instead of inviting Milo on an washing his balls.

Well it'll be a lot easier now that he doesn't have a book, high profile speaking engagement, or a job.

So Bill Maher agreed with and had a bromance with a guy who is too crazy even for republicans.

Any liberals still think Maher is a good guy?

Fuck Milo. Fuck Bill Maher. Fuck Sam Harris too while we are at it.

I wish. The attention will lead to another publisher taking on his memoir and the loss of the Breitbart gig will just lead to him getting his own show or website or something.

It's killing off a lot of his revenue streams. He loves the money he gets from the attention. The real question is if any shit tier sites are willing to give him a platform to rebound from this.

He clearly is having a bad week.

yes we know, ignore ignore ignore. It's not that easy, when you have hate speech thrown at you. Trump should have been ignored too, but here we are and it had nothing to do with random gaffers paying attention to him.

He'll be more toxic than you're imagining for at least a while.

Vox Day will probably pick up his book, which means it'll have less access than Simon and Schuster and will probably be direct sales (lol pleb) and he will continue to do speaking engagements because a dedicated channel for his bullshit would bore people and he knows it. Christina Sommers got herself a dedicated YouTube channel and now no one fucking cares about her. I don't imagine he'll quit, but this certainly hurt him more than it helped him.

Attention killed his book deal, job and speaking engagement.

But sure put your head in the sand.

You really think someone else won't publish his book?

I'd be shocked if that didn't happen.

The defeatism of liberals will never cease to amaze me.

I dunno, Larry telling him to go fuck himself on Bill Maher went sort of viral, there might be a tipping point there arguably. I still don't agree with Maher that he was a good choice as guest but it's hard to ignore the timing.

one of the best parts of all this was, he just seemed to be "popping" into the mainstream when it all came crashing down.

also these GIFs are superb!

This decision is mine alone.

I volunteer to make crappy glamrock logos for interested parties.

Couldn't have happened to a more deserving fuck.

I do wonder if his appearance on the show got some people to dig around a little extra... We'll never know, to be fair.

Absolutely not. Milo was brought down by the right disgusted at his invitation to CPAC.

If anything, this makes Maher look worse, because he invited Milo onto his show to chide the left for being too PC. And not even a week later Milo has his life pissed on by the right.

It's delicious. Ls all around.

No major publisher is likely to touch him, but sure, he'll find someone to publish it, and he'll get less money, the book will get less publicity, and it will have a smaller reach than if it had come out from a major publisher.
