I mean, let's not discount that this could be a big issue. There's a reasonable middle ground between "no big deal" and "OMG this system is fucked"
Thank you.

why ? cant imagine what advantage this could haveIt's assumed the left is transmitting to the right, which in turns sends everything to the console itself.
It never happens in the middle of playing though. It only happens every now and then when I try and power up the system with the controller. Then I need to re-sync, and it doesn't sync like it should. It takes multiple tries.
It has happened to me multiple times in the middle of playing.
Kept mine for virtual console and I still play splatoon online and still play smash and other games. How many Wii U owners sold the system to help finance a Switch purchase?
Possibly to get around the age-old limitation of 7 connected Bluetooth devices? Unless Switch doesn't have that limitation.why ? cant imagine what advantage this could have
Does distance from the base unit have any influence on whether it happens or not?

Curious how the problem could be rectified without either of those things. What other solution would there be? People sitting closer to their consoles?
We are beta testers essentially, hopefully when they knock down the price this holiday they gives us a few freebies like they did with the 3DS
Gamexplain just released a video on the issue. Gives more credence to it being a possible hardware issue, with both Joy-Cons becoming choppy when blocked by a hand or put behind the back. The green light that says it's connected stays on, so it's not a desync issue.

By that line of thinking, every early adopter is a beta tester for any hardware and it's potential launch issues.
Huh...I wonder why other outlets didn't bother trying to determine this by even the slightest amount of process of elimination.
Bluetooth seems to be a pretty fickle (but cheap, which is why it's so common) transmission protocol but I don't recall it being this hit or miss. I have had Bluetooth speakers lose connection just by turning on other electronic (not even Bluetooth or wireless at all) devices.

So glad I'm skipping day 1.
Remember 3DS screen scratching? Yellowed screens? Beta test your own garbage Nintendo.

man that's actually bad news :-/

Yeah I'm pretty worried. I don't think it'll affect me personally, but as an early adopter it could get in the way of prolonged success for the Switch if it isn't dealt with properly.
Holy shit that looks bad. What the fuck Nintendo...Gamexplain just released a video on the issue. If I had to guess, these things are using bluetooth BLE 4.0. Understandable for a hardware choice as it dramatically improves battery, but it's definitely a hardware issue, and fixing this is probably going to be borderline impossible.

Yeah. I starting to fall in that camp as well. This might not be fixable, other than a statement from Nintendo saying "Sit close to the console, and make sure there is an unobstructed path between the controller and console".
Mhmm, doesnt seem like something that can be resolved with firmware, but I'm no expert on that.
Keeping the joycons free of obstructions some ten feet away. I'll be fine, but I can see how this is gonna negatively affect those with certain setups. Hmm, I dont think Nintendo is gonna make a statement on this.

it could potentially remove a lot of the versatility, especially when playing with just two joycons wiimote and nunchuk style. you'd have to make sure both are free of any phsical objects or anything that can destabilise the connection. one thing i was looking forward to was being able to play free handed without having to worry about limitations. hopefully they can fix it but if it's a hardware issue, we're fucked for launch.

How is that gonna affect free handed, though? It's like you are going to have you hands being your back.

Amazing. Are the controllers actually using bluetooth or some other unproven, proprietary method?
