Exactly. Maybe the trailer was more directed at black dudes/girls, who have experience in a homogenous middle class/upper middle class environment with a silent veil of racial tension.
Because as soon as that trailer got going I could feel myself sinking further and further into my seat.
I guess the trailer doesn't convey this feeling to a wider audience, but as it seems the movie probably successfully fleshes this idea out, so it reads to a wider audience, who then probably "get it".
