So not under oath then

If this was LA Noire this would be the tutorial interrogation.

bruhhh

No only is there video.....from the Washington Post article:

In January, Sen. Patrick J. Leahy (D-Vt.) asked Sessions for answers to written questions. “Several of the President-elect’s nominees or senior advisers have Russian ties. Have you been in contact with anyone connected to any part of the Russian government about the 2016 election, either before or after election day?” Leahy wrote.

Sessions responded with one word: “No.”

Franken has always been the better MN senator yet somehow Klobuchar gets re-elected easier and her name floated for Pres. She's weak. Like her recent yea vote for shaddy Cyprus bank dude for Treasury. Al is competent.

I think part of it is Franken isn't a showboat. He does good things and doesn't go around screaming about how great it is he did it. I'm still thankful that he won despite how close it was. Guy won by only 312 votes with nearly 3 million cast total. Imagine if he didn't make it in.

Why would Mattis be involved?

He's in line of succession before Ben Carson, so if he ends up being passed over for it, with a pretty big reason(read: Russian involvement), then shit will get bad, quickly. That would mean that Mattis may have been compromised while a General, which would then mean a not-insignificant number of our officers are also likely compromised. I highly doubt Mattis would be involved, but then, I also highly doubted Mattis would be as gungho about Iran as he is, to the point of almost ordering a forced boarding upon an Iranian ship in international waters.

Like, now that we're talking about Senators and Executive staff being compromised by Russia, how deep does the rabbit hole go?

But yeah, as a response to that, SecDef is higher in the line of succession than SecHUD, so Ben Carson wouldn't end up as President because of this stuff unless MAttis was also compromised.

All jokes aside the very fact that he thought it was better to commit perjury in front of congress than disclose these meetings is the most damning evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia that we have so far.

The cover up is always what gets these guys, not the actual crime.

It's because the ramifications are worse from the perpetrators than the ones you're betraying.

I'm hearing that it's not technically perjury because he wasn't under oath when answering that question.

He's still a lying piece of shit that should resign though.

This Republican strategist on CNN right now is a complete clown.

No, Democrats are not blaming Russia for hacking votes and that's the only reason why Hillary lost.

Way to deflect, dummy.

Where do people keep getting this? Social media? He was under oath.

Edit: just a few posts up -

Where'd you get that idea?

Video of him taking the oath:
https://www.c-span.org/video/?42093...ons-testifies-confirmation-hearing&start=2555

And his statement about Russia:
https://www.c-span.org/video/?420932-7/attorney-general-confirmation-hearing-day-1-part-4&start=220

I like how Sessions looks around like Mr. Magoo after he makes that statement.

Nunes is going to obstruct as much as he can. He was part of the Trump transition team. Even if he is innocent in this case he faces guilt by association. If he had half a brain he would be getting the paperwork in order and building as much of a gap between him and Trump.

That is basically the Fox News talking points on Russia. Democrats claim Election hacked. No evidence any votes were hacked. Completely ignore the actual accusations

He also lied in signed testimony so yeah, the dude lied to Congress.

Sessions's written response during his testimony says it all. Full recusal and an independent investigation are both mandatory.

At some point he will have to shift from obstructing to covering his own ass. Once there is too much heat, he will jump out of the way to save his own skin.

Guy from Brookings, so maybe full of shit, but he says that to be perjury: it not merely has to be false, it to be clearly and unambiguously false--and there is enough ambiguity...

*edit, yeah, especially with that signed testimony, looks like he was NOT unambiguous. So that dude's full of it.

Good - Sessions in jail would be 2nd tier GOAT (first tier GOAT would be Trump in jail)

I know. But the same needs to be done with the rest of these people.

Not another month, not another week, not another day, immediately.

You want a fucking ice cream shake with your order sir? Jesus christ, you're not at a burger king, this is already faster than any government investigation I've heard or read about.

He was under oath, the bar for perjury is high BUT read the rest of the thread.

Where does it even come from? None of the accusations had anything to do with hacking the damn vote. It was about influencing the election in other ways.

Like, it's not something I ever hear democrats say. It's not something that gets talked about on CNN or even MSNBC. Where is it coming from?

But Flynn is one of those people and something was done about him. Other people have withdrawn or left his campaign early on. This just broke hours ago.

Yeah I don't get where this is coming from either.

It's not like you have to retake the oath after a bathroom break, right?

Mattis has always been anti Iran, this isn't new.

Where are you getting that he was compromised as a General? Years ago?

"about the election" is all the get out of jail card he will need.
