I've never played a Zelda game before but I do like adventure games and RPGs. Will Breath of the Wild be a good Zelda starting point?

One of my few problems with Skyward was no snow. It wasn't really a problem with the game, but a snow environment I think could have added even more variety to the game especially with that art style.
Needless to say, I'll be spending a lot of time in the snow region. A lot. Hopefully there's some really fantastic atmospheric music for it too. Snowpeak in Twilight Princess was incredible.

Zelda games never really require familiarity with the series to enjoy, though it does seem like BotW will have nods for fans. It should be fine for a first time player

Yeah, it's beginer friendly. You're not forced to face a situation if it's too hard. It has a nice learning curve where you learn from your mistakes but isn't punishing. Just don't expect it to explain you everything like snowboarding with shield.

Seriously. That northwestern snowy region is the one l'm most hyped for, especially as we've seen almost nothing of it. lmagine if you stumble across the fucking Yeti and start racing him on your shield...

I can't even feel cautiously optimistic about the frame rate being improved, not yet anyway.
Hopefully both versions get a patch that improves the frame rate. So far, it sounds like Switch handheld mode is the smoothest?

Yeah, I liked that too! I like snow places in most games. When I got to the first snow level in Mario 3D World it was like hopping in a time machine back to my youth.

Has anyone mentioned if there are weapons in the game that don't break? I know how I am and I will hoard whatever cool weapon I find for fear of it breaking.
I only heard about the Master Sword. Maybe there are more. Who knows?

The next 4 and a half hours are gonna be excruciating.
On the bright side, when I went to reserve my place in line at GameStop, they had an extra Switch Pro controller for reserve, so I won't have to play this game with Joy Cons.

Not a fan of how the theme (which sounds great) is overlayed with what sounds like someone slamming their fingers on a piano randomly. Sounds pretty bad actually.
Final Dungeon theme is great.
Infiltrating this place is so epic. This music just seals the deal.

I definitely prefer the main theme over this but I still really like what they are going for with this version of it. Sounds weird as hell. I love Avant Garde sounding shit and I guess that's the vibe I get with this version, but that's just me. I can totally see why people wouldn't be digging this version too much.
