Early game question. I just acquired the bombs, but I'm having trouble defeating
not sure of its name, but it like a rock creature that fires laser beams. It's near a shrine where you get the bomb. Is it possible to defeat this thing was the bombs? So far it does little damage

Avoid it

How do I catch fish? I assume that's the missing ingredient old man wants me to find but I can't catch one :(

I just swin fast and spam a. You can grab them by hand if you get close enough

bomb in water

I can't for the life of me find raw meat.

Kill birds or boars. While they give you diferent items, both are considered the same for some recipes. There are birds near the old man camp.

Hey guys, i'm not sure this was already answered, but I have a basic Wii U (8gb) and no HDD. Is it possible to play BotW with all the software installations, the day 1 patch and the mandatory installation?

I'm not in a position where I can buy a external HDD to play this so I don't want to waste money on the game and not being able to play it!

Thank you :)

Game is 10 GB
Update is 3 GB
I fear that you can't just buy it digitally.

3 hours into Great Plateau, and I am already lost lmao. I love this game.

Died a few times because I challenge that rock shit lol.
That was super easy for me,
Just get on his back, give him two combos, jump off, and jump back on. He can't do shit to you.
It was honestly a pretty poor boss.

I've been running around there for so long. I let it get away and now I can't find it again.
Once animals notice you and start running away you only have a moment to get them before they disappear, but honestly if they notice you it's probably too late. Anyway, there's a lot more than just one out there. I've managed to kill several by shooting them twice with the bow.

Sorry if this has been asked a million times already, but where are the three chests in the plateau I should have got for buying the season pass?

Man...this game is amazing!! I was afraid of all the negativity about framerate and what not in the wii u version, but I haven't even notice (except in about two parts). The starting area is way bigger than I expected, but it was great seeing something in the distance and going there (the smoke, a cabin in the distance, etc, etc).

Love the puzzles on the shrines too, they are short but rather interesting. Battle can be intense O_O I was walking near a cliff to check things when I turn around and notice a bogoblin camp, they quickly turn the wepons on fire, then came rushing at me, I tried to attack but the fire actually hurt me and cause a small stun, then got hit while I was blocking which push down a cliff into a pond. I though I was safe...then notice that for swimming stamina is use and there was no way for me to swim to the shore with the stamina I had so I drown. Then I reappear where the bogoblins threw me off and they were just waiting, lucky I had some food so many to recover and manage the victory, but boy was the feeling of that small battle againts three bogoblins intense!

I'll ask again.
Side quests are triggered by talking to people with a red ! next to their name. But you can also find hints and stuff in books and also from talking to people. Is it possible to go after those things or is this just lore without any real meaning in the game?

This is a pretty dumb question but I seem to recall a tutorial message telling me I could light up fires with metallic weapons, how do you go about doing that?

It's possible to go after them.

The first one of those is the one in the old mans hut which lets you get the cold resistant clothes.

You will know a little more about the npc but they always reward you nicely (not great but better than random chests, lol)

Just swing your sword on it but you will need wood+flint.

Nope. The big rock monster that appears from underground. I forgot the name but it appears on the trailer.
I found a method to defeat it relatively quick.

Get bomb arrows, shoot the monster's darker rock on top, which makes it tumble. Then you can climb on it and use a hammer on the rock. You don't need much more than four-five hits.

How does one counter enemies with shields? Dodge back?

The first one I encountered almost killed me. I ran away then sniped it with arrows haha

Oops, thought you were asking something else. You can try burning his shield or just dodge back at the right time to get your special attack off.

Option 1: wait it attack so he is full of opening
Option 2: get a 2 handed mass or axe, it will disarm the shield.
Option 3: found a spear.
Option 4: parry with shield its attack

I did finally manage to reflect a mini Guardian's laser back at it in one of the first couple shrines though. It took me 10+ tries to get it right, the timing is really unforgiving on it. Can't imagine doing it back to a full size Guardian.

Morning guys! Downloading BotW now to my WiiU. Was wondering if there was a day one patch for the WiiU as well. Only found info about it being a Switch update for the game.

Welp I just had a enemy just refuse to enter into hitstun. I already killed a bunch of these, but for some reason my stronger weapin hitting its face didnt stun him this time and he just ohko instead.

I literally started playing and just went around killing stuff without doing any story at all and now I'm decked out

Fucking hell this is great

I just hammered it with Boko clubs on its back until it dies. I just got better weapons 1 hour after exploration lol.

Im also on wiiu, when I bought the game it automatically queued the game and the update download. It takes a few minutes to install.

I've died so many times while still trying to get used to the controls. I've jumped off a lot of ledges, jumped while climbing down cliffs, etc lol.
