I just tried to find any button that doEs this. No idea how you get into first person mode. Maybe it depends on the bow? Have you tried another basic bow?

Yeah it's based on a specific bow, read the description, should explain. Just switch the bow and you'll be back to normal.

The Myahm Agana Shrine and
the motion-controlled labyrinth puzzle
is actual fucking torture. I know what needs to be done but I can't get it done.

Yeah the marble thing is pure hate.
One tip: the labyrinth position resets when you leave the control thing and activate it again. When you have the ball on the final path, reset it. Tilt the thing all the way down to gain speed and shortly before rise it up again. Just make sure you hit the exit correctly. (I tried this 20 times before it finally didn't fall to the sides)

I just did a side quest in Hateno village where you
have to clear the beach from monsters. Right after I finished it, the blood moon appeared. I just thought I'm fucked but luckily the monsters didn't respawn. Was I just lucky?

Another question about Hateno;
can I somehow clear up the confusion with the children looking for the little girl in the lab on the hill?

Played for eight hours straight last night. For the first four I happily dawdled around the Plateau, gathering and cooking ingredients, hunting, finding Koroks, slaying Bokoblins and generally enjoying the world at a leisurely pace. I only just completed the second shrine in that time.

By the end of the session I finally had left the Plateau, completed a few more shrines and reached my first village.

I could play this 24/7. No game has ever hooked me like this.

How is it that it's not possible to rotate objects lifted using magnesis ? That's such a basic design that should have been incorporated...Unless I've missed something.

Really stupid question and might have missed it: how do you rotate objects in magnet mode?

Edit: I see I'm not alone (2 posts above and probably countless times in the thread ;))

Thanks I finally did it.

I hope there's no more of that. The weird angle, the lag... it's just not fun.

Looks like I will not be able to play more Zelda.

Started my Wii U up on the gamepad this morning. After that it was not able to output to my TV. Done a lot of testing and diagnostics, and now it only shows a static image through component (startscreen background) on the TV and gamepad. HDMI will not work anymore.

edit:

Seems to get it working on component after some troubleshooting. HDMI is dead.

Use the Force Link. Use the Force.

Oh crap I sold mine without thinking that's what it was for!

They're pretty abundant in certain regions wouldn't worry about it.

I'm currently stranded on this raft I cut loose from the dock and wishing I had a way to catch fishies :/

Edit: derp that's right
bombs
for fishing.

You could keep playing on the gamepad? It's a great way to play if you don't mind being off the tv. Sorry to hear that anyway.

Is there some trick to make inventory management a bit less cumbersome? It's annoying when you come across a chest and can't take the item in it because your inventory is full.

Is there a shortcut to drop items without having to go into the menu?

I know that I can throw weapons, but is there also a way to dispose of shields more quickly?

Nope. Hopefully we get a patch

Both screens was static.

I think I have managed to resolve the component side now. Not sure what caused it, but now I at least have a picture. HDMI is dead though.

Only died two times so far and one of them I fell while climbing for some reason. Liking the challenge so far. I do avoid combat if possible because of the perishable weapon system. Arrows are also in short supply. Not gonna buy them obviously.

You get a lot quicker at dropping the items after a few times, not a massive deal but I imagine there are enough buttons to add a drop, or they could add a slot like the remove one that puts it back to the inventory.

Ah damn, at least there's some good news!

I came across a few "rock circles" every here and there. what are these for?

Also: is there a recipe book that shows me all the recipes I found out?

There is no recipe book unfortunately, the food you've already made has a "Recipe" option that shows what you used to make it.

Some buildings and journals tell you some recipes, but they don't get stored anywhere.

I'd have liked the recipes to have been stored in your own journal, with possibly a space for notes. Not a huge biggie though. Phone comes in handy :)

Ah... hadn't considered that. I got it from him when he was...well you know.
Now I'm super curious if you can get it.

He gave it to me anyway when I met him at the place before the story sequence. I decided not to trade in my orbs for the stamina/health at the time in case he still wanted the trade, and then he called me up and just gave it to me.

Yeah. This game's alright :)

The long trek & whole region surrounding the
Phirone Tower
is fucking godlike!

Now I also understand what this game is all about.

Guys, fuck the main story - just mark a point on the map that looks cool and go there. I haven't even visited Impa yet or done more than 10 shrines. The world design itself is the real star here!

I've made it to the Zora's domain and I still can't find where I'm supposed to trade in Korok seeds. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks! <3

Thanks for the response guys. One other question. Might help others sitting on the fence as well. Last Zelda game I played was Wind Waker. I couldn't really get into it and I felt like I was forcing myself to play it to justify the purchase. These days I don't have alot of time to play and my focus is also not so good because of a busy lifestyle so I think one issue I had last time I played Zelda was simply not having the patience, time and attentiveness to solve puzzles and progress in the game. Which ended up just being frustrated and giving up. Based on your experience with the game and my situation would I have the same frustrations with BOTW? Perhaps maybe this style of game just isnt for me in which case I probably shouldn't get a Switch for Zelda lol. But from what Im reading it seems less restrictive and alot more fun.

Okay, I've been playing about 6 hours now, just arrived to
Kakariko Village
.

This game simply blows my mind how awesome and vast it is. I love that you can just climb anywhere (if you have enough stamina), there really are no boundaries. This game is true open world.

Yes, the framerate has some issues (been playing the WiiU version), especially in towns, but that's really my only real complaint so far. I guess the weapons also could have more durability, it's kind of annoying that some of them break after 3-4 hits.

Other than that, playing BotW has been a pure pleasure. Can't wait to continue my journey!

You know what the exploration in this game reminds me of? Climbing the biggest collosi in Shadow of the Collosus.

When I finally reached the
top of the Phirone Tower
I got that sense of huge relief as if I overcome an extremely huge obstacle.

This game really takes off once you get off the Plateau. What did I play this for, like 8 hours? Jesus. Took down 2 Guardians on my first journey from the Plateau though, that was intense.

Also, bombs are life in this game. I think it may have been a mistake to give the two different types of bombs separate cooldowns.

First time I saw the person you trade them with was the cliff leading to Kakariko. Since then I saw him again in Central Hyrule but he's trying to get to a destination so I'm not sure if he's gonna be in the same spots or not.

Initial one should be the same atleast since there's a sidequest involved.

okay, thank you!

Anyone know where I can get another spicy pepper?

I wasted the two available in the hut and can't seem to fine one out in the wild

Yep, this game is amazing.

Found myself losing time last night just going off the beaten path. There's always a distraction and something new to find and do. I've only done 2 shrines too.

I really like the music, it adds to the atmosphere and immersiveness amazingly. I know its a common complaint as it's quite minimalist, but it aids in the world feeling alive. You can hear the birds chriping and the squirrels running. A catchy tune would almost certainly take away from that.

I think my main draw is the fact everyone's adventure will be different thanks to the enormous variety of things to do, and sights to see. I found this bubbling bog oddly beautiful as the sunset was hitting it, highlighting the shades of grass around it.

It just begs the question where the series goes next. No doubt they've got a winning formula here, but it'll be interesting to see if there willing to take even more risks thanks to the positivty of dropping series staples here. My dream of a Zelda MMO might actually come true haha.
