BotW does a really bad job of telling you when your ready to go on a quest. For example I got invited to travel to
Zora's domain
and I just did it with my four hearts. And now I'm half way there 45 minutes later and everything one shots me and all I can do is run past all the enemies all the way there... I'd have greatly preferred to have been warned this is a level 20 quest when I am only level 5. But I get that Nintendo is never gonna do that... so I end up taking on higher level stuff and just having to run past everything which is not how I want to play the game at all. Very dumb. I'd rather have spent my 45 minutes doing more shrines and travelled there when I had more hearts.
Lol i just got to
Zoras Domain
with three hearts ! It can definetly be done ;)

but i didn't found Kakariko :(

Wow. I didn't expect a
fully realized water themed village/area. Really beautiful although I hate water levels. I guess I will go straight out beating the titan. I don't like the constant rain.

ugh. Been on one fight for 1 hour or so. Keep getting 1 hit. I guess I should get more shrines to get more heart containers.

It is the Zora miniboss where you get the shock arrows. I get the technique going, but if I make 1 mistake he one shot me. Have 5 hearts.

Should I just turn back and do other shit?

just sneak around and snag them delicious shock arrows. On top of the hill are many

I finally made it to the first town... and I was in it for a grand total of two minutes before something caught my eye and caused me to leave.

All of my exploration paid off since I was able to buy the full stealth set. I really like this armor set.
Any bonus for the full set? The Hylian one doesn't. I think.

I'm dumb lol... I was running around the different shops in the village and wondering why the fuck all those NPCs only offered the option to sell stuff and not buy... I had a bit of a "ohhhh" moment just now.

Sorry if this was asked but any Wii U impressions ?
I love it. There are obviously some fps hiccups but after watching DF's initial comparison video, I'm even more confident that I made a good choice for now with the Wii U version. I'm very impressed overall that they got a game of this quality on the Wii U and it's gonna last me a long time.

Fps issues have never been a big deal to me so depending on your sensitivity to it, that will be the factor. With that said, it seems Switch in dock mode can be just as unstable at various times.

Yeah, don't think you are even suppose to kill that yet. I think you are suppose to do just that, sneak and steal arrows. Stay hidden behind rocks and stay long distance away from it.

shrine spoiler
I just cant figure out the dark tuss shrine. I'm not sure what you're supposed to do with the balls. I've tried stasis in an attempt to get it to fly over the fence but it just wont go high enough.

First village NPC dialogue spoiler:

Cottla: Mommy's hiding, but I'll find her!

It's very frustrating to make a meal expecting it to have certain effects and it doesn't. Should I just stick to two ingredient dishes for those recipes?

I didn't get the Hylian Shield when I used the BotW Zelda Amiibo. The chest gave me a luminous stone. Is there only a random chance of getting the shield?

Where is the Goddess Statue in
Kakariko Village
? Trying to upgrade some shit and don't wanna go back to the Temple of Time

That Shrine is called Twin Memories for a reason, and it's on Dueling Peaks. Read the sign in the shrine and look around outside the Shrine

yeah I read the sign, thanks, didn't know what to make of it, or more specifically...

Theres a shrine on the other peak, you need to copy the initial placement of the balls in that shrine in this one and vice versa.

...I hoped that this wasn't actually the solution, ugh. How far is that other shrine?

Sometimes I'm not sure the game is great at telling me when I should attempt a quest or to reach a location and instead I find myself underleveled or unable to reach a place because you can't atm.
For example, do I actually try to reach
Impa right after when the King gives me such quest?
seems so far. I also haven't been able to write down more of my map because the only other tower I can reach right now is guarded by a moving Guardian and another one which, even if of the stuck-on-the-ground kind, it still won't let you climb the tower without being targeted (I think?).

Played like 10 hours in dock mode and 2 hours in portable mode in bed yesterday until 3am. I work up like 4 hours ago now and started to play it immediately......this game is literally too damn good/fun to put down! So freakin' glad that the trailers basically showed us almost nothing in the game because wow, I never had so much fun just exploring a world since Xenoblade Chronicles X. The little details show up everywhere and it makes the feel so grand and alive. Awesome NPC interactions is just so amazing to see compared to a lot of other open world(heck even non open world) games where mostly everybody is a faceless/nameless nobody....they're actually people in this game and I can't imagine how deep Nintendo went into putting life into everything and everyone here. Also glad I'm not much of a graphics guy because while I've seen the framerate lower here and there, it never bothered me at all. I also think the world is freakin' beautiful, of course it's definitely not the best this gen technically but damn, it doesn't stop me from loving how everything looks. I've only unlocked 3 locations on the map and it's already huge as hell....this map is damn incredible exploration wonderland. When Nintendo said they only showed 1% of the map at E3, they weren't kidding at all......pretty damn crazy.

Do you have an example? I haven't made anything too complex yet but so far everything I've made turned out as expected.

It's taken me like 3-4 hours just to do the first 3 of 4 shrines you have to do for the old man. Took me a lot longer than I'm willing to admit to figure out how to get through the cold areas lmao. Supposedly it's a huge world but I already find it insanely large and I'm still at the opening pleateau region
Really really really loving this game and I've never been a Zelda fan.

It's impossible for me to just head for objectives I set for myself. There's always distractions and I get pulled away on suprise adventures. The world is so alive that I haven't yet found a "bad" way to go.

Combat is tougher than I thought it would be, in a good way. Taking down my first overworld boss was so satisfying. I like the weapon decay a lot. Link is such a scavenger!

Seems some combo allow you to pile up or not the effect of food.
But when it works damn I was able to get 3 defense effect on one dish, I was proud but forgot to remember the ingredients q.q

This game... Never have I played a game that distracts me from what I currently had wanted to do. I'm heading to the second main quest of the game, only to end up south of it in another region of the map some hours later. Every time I try and head to the objective I just want to explore some neat little landmark or something. It's amazing.

If I try to make a more complicated meal with multiple ingredients.. it will make the meal but with no added effects.

If the ingredients have too many effects, they may cancel each other out.
Ugh that's a bummer.. I really enjoy the cooking besides that.

Isn't there a button in the menu that shows you the recipes a food can create once you create it?

What's a basic ingredient that adds yellow hearts? Haven't been able to make a single dish of it yet.

I think why this works so well is that the game's sight lines are incredible. That's why the towers work as well as they do because the sight lines guide you so well. You're wandering with curiosity, not without purpose. Wandering with wonder, not confusion.

If you go to food already made, there's an option when you click it to see the recipe.

I just want to say, after anticipating Zelda for years and being so hyped up for it since the first footage released back in 2014 (and even before that really when Aonuma first talked about breaking series conventions), I had no idea that this game would exceed my already lofty expectations as much as it does. I just played for 20 straight hours... and I NEVER play more than 2-3 hours at a time these days.

This is the best game I've ever played. And I still haven't even entered a dungeon. I feel like I'm a kid rediscovering games all over again for the first time.

I've never seen so much effort and magic put into a single game before. This is the lushest video game experience ever.

I like how weapons have additional functional benefits. Axe for cutting wood. Sledgehammer for minerals. Makes it difficult to throw away any weapon
I always keep a hammer and axe because their usefulness isn't easily replicated by another item. Ideally I'd like to always have a leaf and a torch but I tend to ditch them for back up swords, a club and some sort of long-range weapon.

Rarely have I been in a situation where I need a torch and can't really get access to something which can hold a flame. The leaf, however, could be a problem if I stumble across a need for a gust of wind, such as rafting.

Guess I need to expand my inventory slots asap.
