Does anyone else, after finding a korok under a rock, drop it right back on their heads just for shits and giggles?

Every single time, laugh at their sound every single time as well.

Can't stand the VO for Zelda (the character). I didn't like the English VO in the trailer but I figured eh, it'll be fine. But I really hate it and it takes me out of every single cutscene she's in. I really wish they'd included the JP dub.

All of the VA in the game is amateur-hour. I've seen puppet shows with more compelling voice performances.

I'm just slightly annoyed with the way her voice sounds - just doesn't fit imho. Did not have high expectations in regards to the actual VA.

Well,
Once you buy the house at the village with the windmills, Hateno, I think, you can purchase upgrades for the house that add more weapon racks, which you can store weapons in, albeit one per rack

Do you really need 3,000 rupies to buy the house? I barely have 200

couple questions if you don't mind answerin'

what are the shiny little bunnies and how do i catch them before they disappear?

has anyone solved The Hero's Cache sidequest? I'm about 25 hours in and this is the first hint that I really don't understand. Maybe I just need to open up the map more.

Is there any materials that I should absolutely positively never sell?

Thanks!!

You shoot them to get money.

You probably shouldn't sell anything except ore. It seems like everything else has some use.

So at the top of Mount Ploymus, there is a tough as fuck enemy. I need to be in this area for the
Zora Quest
, but this beast is beating my ass over and over. Should I tackle this quest later or is this normal?

You don't need to kill it, there are plenty of arrows surrounding, try stealth through

Lol I stumbled upon a wandering Gerudo around the Great Plateau area and she said she's "on the hunt for a voe, and she hasn't found any good ones yet until just now" (i.e. Link).
For those who don't know, a voe is the Gerudo term for a man.

The damning thing about the voice acting is the realisation that Other M was probably better in this department.

so how is going to find shelter a better way to pass the time than just waiting for it to stop raining?

Pretty much dependant on where you are.

I get that it's an understandably polarizing mechanic but I really dig how it nails that out and about adventuring vibe.
Like looking at the upcoming weather and noticing that you need to get a shuffle on or prepare to keep an eye out for any potential outcrops for campfire shelter, or even take the longer but less vertical route.

It should however rain less frequently.

God damn the intro/path for the
Zora Divine Beast
was epic as fuck. Music, scale, intensity, difficulty. Top notch right there. Can't wait to see the others.

I'd have a problem with the weather hindering my progress if there weren't 10 million other places to go and things to do when I get stuck because of the rain.

I, too hate the rain climbing mechanic. One of the few problems I have with the game, actually. It should be harder but not impossible.

I just spotted a
Lynel
for the first time. I was hoping they were in the game, but I wasn't sure. I just snapped a photo of it and moved on, haha. Something tells me I better stay away for now.

The Zora told me I couldn't climb rocks in the rain and that I had to take the long path. But I still just climbed up the rocks and skipped the whole thing with my paraglider.

They were pretty short cliffs though. Link slipped repeatedly but I still easily scaled them.

I haven't tried climbing anything really big in the rain.

Hmm, on one hand pacing completely changes when it rains, it becomes slower. But I'm so glad that it actually does something. The game is very different when its raining and when it isn't. In an adventure game verisimilitude matters a hell of a lot to me. I the player care more about the game world because of what's happening inside of it dynamically. When it rains, I usually end up talking to NPCs before shifting the clock later on and there's something distinctly unique about that feeling that I've never really got out of a game before.

So while the rain is controversial in a strictly progression and mechanical sense, in a roleplaying sense, I kinda adore it.

Goddammit, I Metroid Prime'd myself and have to start over again D:
(General spoilers for the Lanayru/Necluda/Eastern regions)
So I upgraded my Sheikah Slate in Hateno and then I proceeded to reconquer Vah Ruta. I stupidly forgot about taking pictures for the Hyrule Compendium, so I'm missing Waterblight Ganon and I only realized a couple hours later.

It's not impossible if you have enough stamina to jump climb the whole way. Each slide down is shorter than a jump so you can make progress.

So I left the
elephant dungeon
. How do I return? I tried going back to the dock it teleported me to and nothing. I tried paragliding onto it only to be thrown off. I can't swim back because it's too far. Tried talking the the person who took me there and nothing.. What am I missing here?\

edit: i'm dumb.. fast travel. I forgot about fast travel..

haha I didn't even know this was a thing, that's the one boss I beat before I
upgraded the slate too.

Does it matter? I thought the picture taking thing was more of a novelty outside of the tracker. Do you get anything for taking a picture of everything?

Also, I finished fighting Ruta, that little Orb on the UI has an x1 next to it. Can I upgrade it directly, or does the number go up each time I kill one of the beasts?

Dunno how many people have gotten this far yet, but do you eventually get unbreakable weapons? It's seriously the worst feature in the game.

You can buy every picture from her assistant.

Holy shit at the crazy flower lady at the shrine on Floret Sandbar.

Psychopath. Fuck your flowers lady!
She said she planted her flowers to surround the shrine.

How is that even possible even though the shrines were just unearthed?

I do love how she channels Akuma and rushes towards Link with a fade to black if you piss her off enough lmao

I completed the 2 shrines in The Great Plateau but I still haven't been able to craft yet. I can't craft at fires either.

What am I doing wrong?

Anyway sunk another 12 hour session into this, I had planned to keep up with the OT but it doubled overnight so there goes that idea. I won't get into details since most people are still in the early hours but this game really is something special.

Dunno how many people have gotten this far yet, but do you eventually get unbreakable weapons? It's seriously the worst feature in the game.

I can only assume the master sword is unbreakable lol.

It's annoying yeah but it does gets better when you unlock more weapon slots / start finding better weapons.

I've definitely noticed that unless I know the enemy I'm after drops a weapon / material I am looking for I tend to just run from fights to preserve my weapon HP.

I'm trying to love the shrines as dungeon replacements. I am. And I get the need to have many small ones scattered about the huge world. But every time I play one, I start having fun and it's over.

I just don't know that I prefer this direction at all. The designs are fine but there's like one or two puzzles and that's that. They just keep lifting my spirits a bit and then ending.

Aesthetically they feel too repetitive as well.

Yeah I really am not a fan of the breakable weapons. It's completely pointless, at least where I am in the game. I just end up picking up and using pretty much the same weapons anyway so it's just wasting my time with needless inventory management every handful of hits.

Does the game keep track of your playtime?
On WiiU, yes. Not the game itself but you can easily see you played time in the activity log. I think there's a way to track your playtime through the parental app on Switch, not sure though.

Pro mode is the bomb, is there a way to turn off the shrine sensor?
Open the Sheika slate map and press Y.

My first horse ran around during a fight and got stuck, standing on the side of a cliff. Looks like a Witcher 3 homage bug. The game informs me that 'Your horse isn't able to come to you right now'... No kidding :P

I guess it's time for a new horse.
One way to get around this is hitting your horse. That should frighten him, and make him jump if he is stuck on a cliff. Make sure to soothe him after.

For everyone wondering if you should sell Saphirre Topaz, Diamond etc..

There is a town in the game where you can use them to craft Heat/Cold/Electricity resist gear. So if I were you I would try to keep a few of them. I think it's 3 stones per accessory...

Yeah, it seriously hurts the experience as a Zelda game. I'm avoiding fights and even avoiding hitting pots/rocks/grass because of garbage weapon durability. I didn't even realize you could cut grass in this game because I never thought to swing my weapons at something I didn't have to.

You can buy every picture from her assistant.

If that's true, you saved me many hours of catching up, thanks!

Does it matter? I thought the picture taking thing was more of a novelty outside of the tracker. Do you get anything for taking a picture of everything?

I don't know about rewards, but my inner completionist forces me to try for 100% every time I see a bestiary lol

It was creepy because there was a thunderstorm when she decided to turn into a goddamn flower demon. After I finished the shrine I just went and chopped down all her flowers. Dont tell me what to do! Fuck you lady.

I got that memory first too, and yeah it was difficult getting through that area.

I actually like Zelda's voice acting so far.

Also, when we get Hyrule Warriors 2, these new characters definitely need to be in, plus Saria, Nabooru, and Groose.

I love those new characters, especially the
Gerudo
with the 8 pack abs. I need more of her lol.

Ohhh lol. Pot over a fire? I only get asked if I want to wait until time passes.

If the pot is not lighted up, light it with fire.

After that, go to the item screen, select what you want to cook and hold it, you can hold up to 5 items at once. Drop them on the pot.

To create your own cooking pot, you need some flint and wood, and sometime to start a fire with.

This game has the best Zelda characters besides Midna, Groose, and Skyward Zelda. The NPC's are freaking fantastic.

If Tingle shows up though I will set my Switch on fire.
