Try to conquer Hyrule castle with only 3 hearts and whatever weapons i found along the way.

Got owned. I did feel like a champion for beating 1 guardian tho.

Does anyone else feel this game is a tad overrated?

It's been ten hours and I've just been doing shrine after shrine.

Pros:
Cooking sound is so satisfying
Villages and NPCs are so creatively done.
Sound is top notch.
Combat

Cons:
Lots of Downtime,
Shrines are super same-ey
Feels like Ubisoft Open World with Towers unlocking the maps
Side quests have been fetch X things, or kill
Weapons Breaking too often

Don't get me wrong, the game is fun, but not 10/10 fun.

Someone here have not done lot of side quests otherwise he will have liked to solve the riddle to uncover hidden shrines. This is not close to a fetch quest at all, lol

im taking my time with this game, but what an experience this is. The world building and character are just off the chart. So much stuff to see and do. I truly think this game could ONLY be made by Nintendo, imagine if EA or Ubisoft tried to make a game like this??

Love getting to the top of the towers using the slate and just dropping pins on stuff.

If it keeps up this is going to sit right along side for Witcher 3 for me. Im a little down on the performance ive had plenty of FPS drops but im a PC gamer so im more prone to notice it

At what I assume is pretty much this game's version of "dungeons," the design and music is fantastic. I really loved how the music
changed as I activated more of the Shiekah slate pedestals
.

This is super imaginative and I think I might have literally shit my pants when (item/armor/ability spoiler)
you get the Zora armor and swim up waterfalls
I mean oh my fucking shit.

The framerates are pretty bad in Kakariko village and the stables south of it in the Wii U version. Is it that bad on Switch too?

Those items from the 30th Anniversary Zelda amiibo better be somewhere else in the game or I'm gonna be pissed.

Eh, knowing the topography is pretty important.

Also I've found knowing the names of the various mountains/lakes to be pretty important for navigation.
Probably, theres some people that play in pro and some that dont.

You get used to where you going after you see some stuff after awhile and know where you been. I have literally only used markers when the old man told me to on the plateau. Not because I dont want to but because I keep forgetting they exists but im still having so much fun.

When I am doing something else and am 80 miles from a stable: here's a group of enemies riding horses you don't even have to soothe to tame.
When I want a horse and am close to a stable: lol no horses here.

The battle music is the best in the series.

I mean the one that plays when your surrounded by strong enemies not bokoblins

I think some people just see all towers as Ubisoft towers, where you climb them and then it shows you a billion little collectables instead of how they actually are in the game where it just gives you a regions topography and a nice vantage point.

I know right! Especially when the game has a 24 hour day/night and shows you the current time in the 24hr format! I get it they wanted to have a classic clock riddle but, c'mon, don't use a 24hr format when you're talking about an analogue clock face. Clocks are 12hr.

They are fantastic warp points and places to jump off and glide to other locations.

So to end the day I did my first "dungeon" after ~20 hours and I'm confused at the complaints? By sheer quality this is already better than every dungeon in Wind Waker combined if this keeps with the others.

It was the bird divine beast. The build up was cool with the flying set piece, the real time tilt concept is awesome, good boss and Revali is a charming dude. And for all the worries of no themed dungeons this is just so not an issue when you are walking on a flying ship, can look outside and see the whole overworld. In general dungeon atmosphere is still here even with the divine beasts themselves consisting of same mechanical structure.

This is quality & more importantly felt satisfying.

Also, the town design in this game is so fantastical compared to past entries. They took a good look at Xenoblade here in the best ways.

And the German dub is seriously great. I hope the performance will keep up throughout the game!

Anyone help me out with this question real quick... (Dungeons related)
Are there any items you can only obtain in the divine beasts? I only ask because the game tells you that you cannot re-enter when your done with them? It's playing with my OCD if I'm gonna miss out on important items

At bloody last, I found the korok gits home so I could drop off my many many seeds accumulated since my last sighting of him, so much dancing!

Then I stepped into the constellation shrine and it's like...

Only puzzle shrine so far where I've just had to leave out of sheer confusion as to how to work it out, I'll return one day!

I have it, its very good, very detailed, only downside is that it doesn't show the locations of the 900 seeds, just tips on what to watch (flowers, stones, etc). Or maybe its in there and I havent found it yet. I only use the guide when I feel stuck for a long time in Shrines. After I completed the game I will use it to try and find everything. Its way more fun to discover stuff on your own in this game imo.

The map that comes with the guide has the locations of all 900 seeds.

Can someone please tell me if there's a way to angle the switch's dock more upwards? shit faces like almost completely forward, maybe a 10 degree swing. I want it back at like 30 degrees + if possible. I feel like any table you put this on is going to be under your viewing angle.. but right now it seems like you need a table at least at fucking shoulder height to be able to see it comfortably

I think some people were confused by my last post,

THIS IS NOT A GRAPHICAL COMPARISON. This is the exact same spot in both versions of the game. Whe can see the changes they made to the geography of this area between 2014 and 2017.

So is there anything stopping you from just using the Ice Rune to get down from the plateau before getting the paraglider? I'm doing it right now but I was wondering if there is some other barrier that's active before getting the glider.

You just need to
count the times the constellation at the end of one of the rows is in the big wall in the back and put the ball in that place

Can you tell me where that is? The Korok village?

I thought the amiibo only got you random items like fish? What special stuff do you get?

They give you items corresponding to each game.

You can get the full tunic/hat/pants from every game. Then they also have weapons. You can get the boomerang from WW, WW Zelda gives you the shield from that game. The 8-Bit Link gives you "Sword" designed after the one in the first game. Smash amiibos give you stuff from Twilight Princess. And then there's a few that haven't been released yet that will give you things from Skyward Sword

Nope, it's been hinted you can get down without it. How would you use the Cryonsis to get down though?

Question regarding a shrine quest named, "The Serpant's Jaw"... anyone know where to find the "Farosh's Scale"?

Can't figure this one out at all!

I haven't gotten it yet but Farosh is
a big ol dragon. You can see him flying around Lake Hylia and the tropical region every once in awhile.

Thanks. That's... way more than I thought it would be, jeez

This feels so special to me. It's almost capturing the same sense of wonder that I got playing EverQuest for the first time back in 1999. The completely open-ended nature and feeling of raw potential really compels me to just keep playing and checking things out.

Hard to believe that this is part of the same Zelda series that has become infamous for overbearing tutorials as of late.

I am so happy this game exists. I'm so happy we have this masterpiece to play forever!

What an exciting time to be a fan of this series. Breath of the Wild is truly a masterpiece.

The world is so large, it's so fun to explore and discover. The crafting is lots of fun and the world is breathtakingly beautiful.

The only gripe I have with the game is the frame rate. If only Nintendo gave this game the hardware power it deserves.

Question regarding the Hyrule Compendium:

I killed a boss but forgot to take a picture. Does
the lab assisstant sell pics of the bosses, or am I screwed?

Just doing the
Zora
quest where I have to find the 10 inscribed monuments. The 5th one has some serious timeline info:
It talks about Ruto, the Zora sage from OoT and her story being from a time long ago, before that of the Great Calamity and the creation of the Divine Beasts (which was up to this moment the oldest referenced event in the story at 10,000 years ago). This game must be the last in the timeline given how long after OoT it takes place.

Are there any other clothes with cold resistance besides the warm doublet? I'm in an area where the warm doublet isn't protecting me from cold damage/
