How in the hell are the stats so high when the royal horse is supposed to be the best outside of possibly Epona. Jesus christ. All black horse. Named it Regalia. Took a few tries to mount it.
5/4/5 stats.
I think I'm set.

Question about attaining open world collectibles-
So, I've figured out most of the challenges you come across on my own (circle of stones, stones in water, etc). However, I still haven't figure out what to do with circles of lily pads/flowers in water. Is this something that gets revealed later through playing the game? Or are all these challenges just left up to the player to figure out? If it's not explained later, can someone give me a hint as to what to do with the lily pad in water puzzles?
Let me tell you about my horse.
I've had him since I could even find horses. The moment I saw his beautiful bluish green coat and white mane, I had to befriend him. He was a solid colored, wild horse, with four stamina. I named him Horse.
I just tried to activate the central tower so I could see the map and get a memory more easily. Swarming with fucking you-know-what's, but I made it in with Horse unscathed. I scaled the tower easily while avoiding sniper fire with my plentiful stamina, looked out on Hyrule Castle, and glided back down onto Horse, ready to make an escape.
Horse became snagged on a rock, with mere seconds before a laser destroyed us both. We attempted to horsey dance our way to safety, and it seemed as though we would triumph and take cover behind a wall and avoid the blast.
But we were not fast enough.
Horse perished in the explosion, and I clung to life with a mere quarter of a heart. I am legit shook. For some reason I never really thought about horses dying since Horse had taken every bit of damage he'd received like a champ and was the toughest of all the horses I've ever known. I literally stood over his body and wept real tears from my actual eyes (I am not lying) while the bastard who took him from me prepared another beam.
I had to glide to safety on the updraft from the flames caused by the explosion, but as soon as I had a moment to breathe, I just put the console down (playing in handheld mode at the moment) and stared out toward the scene from the melencholy safety of a large tree. The music was soft and sad, and it was sunset.
I immediately came to GAF to recount this tale, so that Horse might be remembered as the brave steed he was. He was faithful, strong, and loved eating apples from my hand as we watched the sunset together. He valiantly shared my adventure with me, and I don't know how soon I'll be able to get a new horse because I am so, completely, utterly devastated right now.
Have a peaceful rest, Horse.
I know I can just load an old save but that feels like cheating.

I have only rode a horse minimally in my 12 hours, just not feeling it, prefer to walk. Plus not too keen on horseback combat if i'm honest :/
How do you know how much time you've put into the game? Is there a counter somewhere?
Hard to just tell a hint without giving it away, it's a simple action. Well I'll try. Have you notice there's always a ledge near those pads?
Oh god, not anotherhikeblue flame
I have so much amber it's ridiculous. If I sold half my amber, I could afford a house. How much amber is needed for crafting/quests? Can I sell this stuff without screwing myself?
Let me put it this way. Would you rather have real estate or rocks that don't do anything?I have so much amber it's ridiculous. If I sold half my amber, I could afford a house. How much amber is needed for crafting/quests? Can I sell this stuff without screwing myself?
Is it just me or does the Wii U version of the game look incredibly washed out? My TV is calibrated and no matter what I do the game looks very flat at times.

Ore deposits respawn and amber is the most common outside of rock salt and flint. Go nuts. You canlight arrows and then just shoot another sconce
Well that stone monster respawns and drops ores so yeah probably i also think ore deposits respawn after a while.
Keep daimonds tho they are pretty darn rare.
If it says "major test of strength" when you enter you'll likely end game weapons for those because on moderate tests I can do it just fine with some mid/high tier weapons.
As to seeing health I think thelet's you see itchampions tunic you get via the story early on
I need a recipe book for this game.
I like that they tell me what went into a recipe but then it's gone once I eat it.
Also, it gives me the maximum number of ingredients I threw in instead of paring it down to what was essential to get there
Wut? How?
You sure it's not 4/3/4?

I really want to see how speedruns in this game will be like.
Cause the physics can lead to some interesting methods and techniques.
Nothing is really hard to figure out or remember, once you get the gist of the process. It is very free-form.
Stuff gives you whatever bonus it says it is going to give you. The bonus durations stack. Health is generally doubled-or-more when you cook.

Geez, thisyou can craft atancient stuff. A thousand rupees and a huge bunch ofRobbie's housefor each weapon? These mofos better be durable as fuck too, though at least they are VERY strong.ancient materials
You know, I kind of doubt it. I don't know much about speedrunning, but you'd imagine only tactics you can reproduce with certainty are worth it, and a physics engine introduces a lot of randomness to the equation.
Will be cool to see what people come up with, true.

Guys. Do the Glowstone sidequest in Zoras Domain. The reward is weeeell worth it.
1. Save everything you find, even if it doesn't appear to have a use. Even if it feels like you are hoarding menial things, like monster parts, keep them until you know for sure what they do. This might be a long wait, but you will be happy to have not sold off something you wish you had found.
2. Don't let your stamina deplete. Let it ALMOST deplete and then let up. It will begin recharging and you'll be able to use more in short bursts. This is especially useful when running because, if you deplete your stamina, you have to wait for it to completely refill to use it again.
3. Don't try to save your weapons. Just use whatever is available to you at all times. Everything breaks and everything is disposable. Do not try to hold on to that "good sword" until you absolutely need it. A little later in the game you might decide to hold on to certain weapon types for certain enemies, but generally, just have at it.
4. When a weapon is almost broken, throw it at an enemy.
5. Be prepared to die. The auto-save is forgiving, but you will find yourself being killed very easily. You will learn quickly that most combat encounters are optional and it may be advantageous to run away. This has always been the case in the Zelda overworld, but it is particularly salient in BotW.
6. If you see a high peak or platform, climb to it. You will find so many things that way. Always seek the highest point.
7. You don't have to complete shrines to make them a fast-travel point, just activate them. That said, you might as well complete them. They are short and productive.
8. Don't dump five ingredients into a cooking pot and make super-powerful healing food when you only have three or four hearts. It is much better to combine two ingredients, or roast single ingredients on a fire, because they heal more efficiently relative to the actual health you have.
These are just some things that popped into my head.
With the chests, three of them spawn on the plateau, but you have to locate them like any others.
Where do you access it?
I need to find ONE more cuckoo in Kakariko Village and I can't for the life of me find it! Sheikah sensor isn't much help either.

Where do you find his house to do that? I was looking for him but I can't find him to do that
