So I've just been messing around after getting the rest of
the abilities for the slate
. Decided to head south as I haven't been there and wow. That's when it really hits me just how huge this game is. Granted you look at the map and see the area but until you spend a few hours traveling in one direction just trying to get to a tower or two, not getting side tracked, or exploring, or just really taking your time and then when you see the map reveal and the portion of the map you just opened compared to what you just traveled, and what you had to do to get up the tower and then you zoom out and see all the other uncovered areas. Wow. I didn't want to rush through the game before but now really don't. There is so much that can be easily missed. Granted my concern about getting burnt out on the game is still there but it hasn't happen yet after putting so many hours into it now. However I have been making myself take breaks when I did play though just to be safe.

I'm in the
Faron
area. Getting that tower was challenge. I get the strong feeling though I should not be anywhere near here at the moment with my number of hearts, stamina, and overall weapons. So I think I'm going to head back north to find one of the other
tribes/races
.

Also Lake
Hylia
. Wow. If you've been there you know what I'm talking about and what you see. I can not wait to find out what that's about after I progress more. Hell would be cool if that wasn't even related to the main story but something else important on it's own.

The more and more I play this game I come to the conclusion there is no way in hell this current season pass is the last one. There is so much in this game, so man varied locations, so much work that has gone into this, they can keep adding to this world for a long time if they wanted before they even think about building a brand new game of this scale. Hell I could easily see them just using a section of this game world for a brand new game that was far more streamlined.

So what do you guys think are the likelihood that Nintendo will release a patch for this game to mitigate the frame drops and performance issue (at least for the Switch version) later down the line?
And while we're at it will they please for the love of all things holy allow us to remap controls.

So I obtained 2/3 of the Ancient Armor after I went to one shot KO guardians around
Hyrule Town ruins where there was quite a few of them lol, but it was a lot of fun.

I'll probably would get the helm to complete the set later, but I already have a helm that is guardian resist up, so that be good for the set for now.

Welp time to prepare for a almost week long trip, but I can bring my WiiU, so I could still put in a bit of playtime with Zelda during such. Not like I need a TV heh.

Trying to balance out story vs exploration. Unlocked two more regions after Zoras and now I think im deciding between gerudos or gorons for the next dungeon. Hmmm what to do

It's insane to me that so many people went to
the Zora domain
first. I just flew off the plateau and made my way to the twin peaks. After 20 hours of aimlessly exploring I ended up somehow in
Rito Village
and did my first main story quest there.

Well if someone is somewhat doing the story then it's easy to understand. Leaving Kakariko Village dumps you just South of where the entrance to
Zora's Domain (and Goron Mountain)
is, you can find it completely by accident wandering around there. Add in that there's
Zora's
every ten feet asking you to
meet the Prince
at a certain area in that region, and it's bound to be the first.

As for me, it happened completely by accident. I've spent probably 30 hours at this point playing the game just wandering around and exploring. I was actually aiming for Death Mountain, and by pure coincidence 4 of the last 7 regions I hadn't filled in on my map were the ones that had the villages. So I figured it was probably time for me to start finding them, and
Zora's Domain
happened to be the first one I found.

Hopefully Hard Mode changes things up, I'd love to come back and do things in a different order next time

And while we're at it will they please for the love of all things holy allow us to remap controls.

Some general quality of life improvements would be nice too like batch cooking would be nice :D I know I want x amount of certain foods and got the ingredients for it. Don't want to have to select them over and over again, you know.

But seriously though, considering Switch is supposed to be that much more powerful compared to the Wii U, I do expect Nintendo to smooth out the game for Switch.

Is there any reason to save gemstones? Amber, opel, etc?

What about machine parts?

Or can I just sell all this junk?

Put like another 6 hours in today....said I was going to start doing more main quest stuff today. Nope! Mostly just kept wondering around having a grand ol time.

Getting ready to call it a night and go to bed now though....

*inevitably goes to the living room after showering and brushing teeth and grabs Switch and brings with self to bed*

Found an incomplete triangle of rocks out in a lake, but I don't know how to bring a rock over to finish it, can't throw them high enough to get them on an ice block.

I actually went to Roto village first, well actually, I went to the sore region first and met did in but I didn't want to deal with lightning enemies at the time so I just fucked off, after just completing zora domain it kinda feels like it was designed to be the first place/dungeon

Yeah, I didn't go the straight route so I never encountered them. Went literally around the whole map exploring and saw then the town in the distance
after I walked the out of the ruins where the Golf minigame is located.

Is there any armour that keeps you from getting cold in the cold places or do you have to keep eating spicy stuff? I got the jacket but I'm still losing hearts.

My most disappointing experience with Breath of the Wild is that the Switch won't let me record videos of it. There are so many amazing things happening every time I sit down and play this.

I think Nintendo should have prioritized getting video at launch for this game alone.

I've had more moments that I wish I could share with others than any time I've played on my PS4, a console that does have that capability. I try to compensate with some great picturesque moments, but it's not the same as capturing some "holy shit" moments.

It makes me want to go back and watch people let's playing this game just to see what crazy scenarios they have. Even watching people discover stuff in the E3 demo was just so great. Nintendo missed a huge opportunity with a game this emergent and not having a feature we already know they are working on.

They really need to get it out by the time the first DLC comes out at least or the second at latest.

whats tracking

After getting a camera rune and getting the shrine sensor upgraded, you can take a picture of a monster, material, animal, treasure box or equipment and it will be stored in Hyrule Compendium. You can then assign a compendium entry to be able to sense a nearby presence of the said entry instead of a shrine, so like a tracker of sorts.

whats tracking

something you'll get by progressing the story.

you'll get an upgrade to the Sheikah Slate that will add camera functionality. That'll lead to you replacing your get-the-fuck-outta-here reflex by a i'll-just-take-a-quick-instagram-of-that-thing reflex. Whatever you've taken a picture of (weapons, monsters, critters, food animals, fruit, herbs) you'll be able to 'track' (in the same way you're tracking shrines)

There is places that are colder than the cold areas of the Great Plateau. But there's also furth cold resistance gear.
However, you can craft food / elixirs that give you multiple minutes of cold resistance.

Can you trigger amiibo bonuses once every game day? Or actual day?

i would assume actual day, otherwise you could just sleep through the day at a fire or in a bed to refresh the cooldown.

Question: Is there any kind of 'cooldown' for fairies to respawn at
the great fairy fountain in Kakariko
?
I feel like there's some kind of soft cap where it won't respawn any more fairies after you have ~4, as to keep you from stockpiling them by constantly going back to pick some up.

Just finished the Zora main quest, and once again tbe world is my oyster.

Unfortunately, that oyster is kicking my butt.

Where would you recommend I head off to next. Death Mountain is living up to its name, and I keep getting lost in some woods *cough*. And next to that area i keep getting struck with lightning.

There's many solutions. There's better warm clothes you can find to wear or light a torch and walk with it out in the snow.

Also If you get at least 2 of the peppers and drop it into a pot with fire, you will get a dish that will give you low level cold resistance. The more peppers you drop in, (up to 5) the longer the cold resistance would last. You can also walk with the fire rod or a flame brand to stay warm too.

About those woods..light spoilers

light a torch and let it guide you. There's a few things to do there

huh. totally missed that. I thought the camera was just for some miiverse bullshit, or maybe a sidequest I hadn't gotten to yet. alright then. so I should be taking pictures of enemies? that's dumb. and what happens when you take pictures of treasure boxes?

Ok, I'm ten hours in and haven't traded in any Korok seeds. I've tried very carefully Googling the location of the NPC I need, but everyone's just asking where to find him the second time. Where can I find him if I haven't encountered him before?

You take a picture of it. The game explains this once you get the camera.

Yeah you should be. To fill in the compendium you need to take photos of every enemy (including bosses) just like the figure gallery in WW.

He's on the road to Kakriko. I have no clue how you missed him.

yeah, you can track treasure chests. But tracking's very limited. it's just the "beep beep beep" thing, it doesn't fill your minimap or anything like that.

I made a potion that has two of symbol for heat resistance. Didnt even know it was posible. Too bad I cant replicate the recipe since I made it on the night of the blood moon.

You'll meet hin in your way to the first village after the Plateau.

Anyone have any tips on how to climb Akkala Tower? The ooze is everywhere and I can't get up there. I did kill one of those
slime eyeballs
so l wonder if I'm on the right track.

Hints welcome.

on the way to Kakariko

do you know the 4th(?) location where he'll be?

1 being where you initially meet him
2
being the stable south of Hyrule castle
3 being another stable further west, i believe

i do believe i climbed onto the highest part of the "ruins" that surround it i could find (some really flimsy stone arch) that allowed me to parasail to a part of the climbable wall that was above the slime.
