I've probably put something around ~30 hours into the game, mostly just running around and taking in the cool world. It's big. No. It's absolutely huge. Hot damn. Through all that I've found plenty of shrines that I've marked on my map. I've got over half of the towers, missing only those placed in areas where it's either too cold or hot.

The vastness of this world is absolutely astonishing. There's so much to explore, you can always go up, down, left or right and meet new foes or friends. Add to it that
everything plays together so incredibly well, even small things you probably wouldn't have thought of. You can cook meet in the cooking pot to get a steak, but you can also just put it into fire. Or you could shoot a fire arrow at it, if you have those to spare. Or if you are in the really hot areas, just leave it on the ground to be fried by the temperature of the area. You can also cook the meat with stone, if you'd like some dubious food, if you think that combination is cool. You can literally pick any material found in the game and cook it together. It doesn't necessarily give a great outcome, but who doesn't like chewing on hard-rock food.

When they promised freedom, they delivered on all fronts. It's not just the freedom to tackle the order of how you chose to progress the game, but also the freedom to create your own solutions to problems you meet. There is no right or wrong in this game, you just do whatever you think is the correct way of doing it.

It's hard to describe with words or even watching videos of it. You really have to try it to understand just how vast this game is. Wow.

Yes, delete photos you take just to add stuff to the Compendium - the small part of that photo is retained in the compendium even after deletion. And if it's a crappy photo you can replace the compendium entry with a better one later. I got an amazing one of lightning striking a wolf as it bared its teeth at me.
Could you share it with us? :0

The gyroscope puzzle everyone is having trouble with has an important purpose: It's to teach you that alternate solutions can be found if you think outside of the box. They made this puzzle to be found early in the game.

You assume that you need to keep the maze upright when in reality you have 360 degree freedom in every direction. Technically it can be solved upright, but having the ball fall on the sides or bottom makes it trivially easy.

i can't access one of kass locations! Just under hyrule ridge, he's on top of some mushroom rock formation...

i have enough stamina but can't climb up there because it's too horizontal for link to climb on... and i can't find a spot high enough near the location to fly there, any idea?

Holy Shit! I just encountered my first hard battle shrine outside Hatano beach. Didn't feel like I was supposed to be there already, but luckily I saved some good weapons for such occasions. It was hard as fuck, I died a lot - had to leave the shrine to cook same attack boosting meals, but after a few tries I finally got him! I broke some good weapons during that, but in return got 3 new guard weapons with one in particular being 60+ attack! This feels like such an achievement!

Going to explore the ocean now! Bye! :D

Save those weapons for guardians, trust me

Totally agree with this. I hated travelling by road since the horse was such a pain in the ass, and climbing one hill meant you invariably left him behind. That meant I missed a lot of the planned content on the roads - where the game designers obviously expected you to be.

Had the horse been 'magical' I might have used it more than three times in my entire 50+ hour playthrough. The horse was a disappointment.

The only reasons to engage enemies in this game are the only two reasons a game should ever give you to engage enemies: Because they are in your way (an obstacle) and because fighting them is fun.

That's what I did. No penalty.

I'm in love with the horses in the game and I actually prefer it this way than omnipresence.

I always put her under a tree if I have to venture off where it can't go.

Found the climbers headband yesterday and was wondering if it's worth keeping or is it ok to sell for the 600 Rupees. Should I hold on to it for awhile till I find something better? I haven't really been having an issue climbing just yet, but I'm still fairly early in game.

Is the camera unlocked from a shrine?

It's super useful, not worth selling. Think of it more as a tool, put it on before a big climb, and take it off when you're back to walking.

I was working on a shrine that had you conducting electricity and
accidentally dropped my weapon on two contacts. Naturally it conducted electricity across the contacts
bypassing the need to finish the puzzle the proper way. This feels like the first game where I haven't ended up disappointed in environmental interactions not working like you would want.

I love how this game lets you be creative. There may be a more thought out and intended solution, but when you can't figure that out at times, they reward you for improvising.

For that puzzle,
I just spun the platform completely on it's flat backside and flicked the platform up as the ball descended to send the ball flying onto the area it needed to land onto to complete the puzzle.

There is only one of those headbands in the game and there are many ways to get 600 rupees.

LMAO I had read a poster earlier say he just flipped the thing upside down and did it that way. Took me several tries but I did it the right way.

Anyone know if the amiibo can be used again after a day in game or real time?

Wouldn't have occurred to me to do this, because playing on Switch in portable mode flipping it upside down would have meant I probably would have to lie on my back to still see what was going on.

Has anybody encountered this Blood Moon glitch where it occurs every 2 minutes real time? I've just had 5 bloodmoon cutscenes in 10 minutes. Resetting the game didn't help it seems, I went to an inn to sleep, hoping it would solve the issue, but I got one immediately. I really hope this is a temporary thing.

I had it happen to me once at midnight and then during the middle of day. It didn't happen again after that though.

Looking for just a yes or no answer, so no spoilers please, but does this game end up revealing where it falls on the timeline? I know the producers said after Ocarina of Time, but I'm wondering if we get more details than that.

My theory based on 10-15 hours of playtime
is that we are in a post Wind Waker timeline, maybe post flood, after the waters have receded? Only assuming that from the Koroks and the Rito being present.

Based on the trailers I really thought we would be playing as the Hero of Time, but I doubt it. Seems like this is a new Link. But who knows.

i'm on a side quest where i must find
a giant sword
on the gerudo summit....

already did the first past of the quest, but can't find this one! I looked everywhere, kinda desperate here!

So far I've had nothing but positives to say about this game, like honestly it's bliss for the most part, but I can't think of anything more pointlessly immersion breaking on the Wii U version at least, than having to change from the pro controller to the wii u gamepad just to do some tacked on gyro puzzle
(Toto Sah Shrine)
. And the gyro doesn't even work that well. Can never get it to go where I want it to.

Ok thanks :(

Was hopping I could sell it for that sick sneaking mask lol.

Is the camera unlocked from doing a shrine?

No.

(Mild-spoiler, very early, right after the plateau)

it's unlocked from the "Unlocked Memories" (or whatever it's called) Quest, the one you get after you meet Impa.

I just need a teeny-tiny tip of advice on the E
lephant puzzle, in the Zora zone. im in from of the two big gears.

After a couple of hours of thinking, i dont know what to do.

Holy frig that's a big horse.

I'm with 2
sacred beasts (elephant and bird)
beaten and going for my third now,
the camel
, and I have some questions.

- How can I expand my inventory slots for melee weapons, bows and shields?
- Can the
Gerudo girl set be used as heat resistance on the volcano area
?

The giant gear? Open the map and study it.

More explicit hint:
You can control the trunk.

Actually your awnser is in the very first memory sort of. It's probably the:
child majorasmask/twilightprincess
timeline

Story dungeons complete, now to clean up some exploration before the end.

Dungeon rankings, by the way:

So when I faced the
Lynel in Zora's Domain
I saw for a split second that I could mount the bastard. Does the moon respawn him? I wanna go back and experiment.
I've heard that you can indeed, like you can with other big animals in the wild like bears.

For the first one you need to find Hestu and trade him Korok seeds. Hestu can be found in a few places. He is between
Karkariko and the first stable outside of dueling peaks
. He later moves to
a stable in central Hyrule
. After that he goes to
Korok Woods
.

The GAFfers talking about The Lost Woods are being loose with the spoilers. I've seen spoiler text tagged, but then things to do get through the area not spoiled. I really could've done without reading that.

On a side note, I'm having a really hard time upgrading my Stasis. I can't find the necessary parts for some reason although I have like 20 of each of the other ancient gear/shaft etc pieces. Any clues where I can find the necessary components or is it more a matter of luck when searching the guardians?
I second this. I need one ancient core still. Jarlaxle, the two I do have I got from Shrine chests, I believe.

I was running around the main room of the camel for like an hour after I found the map controls. Could not wrap my fucking head around that shit. That was my third, did the the bird fourth and it was a cakewalk. Also liked the elephant the best; it felt the most like a traditional dungeon.
