Ruta.
The beast itself was fine. The entrance, dungeon, and boss were pretty good.

That's the one I did too, very frustrating experience. I loved loved loved the build up towards it though. And at least it was over quick haha. Awesome ability gotten - check. I can move on with photographing EVERYTHING now.
Thanks for sharing!

Welp, this game finally got me to buy another Amiibo. Picked up the 8-bit Link but they were sold out of literally every other non-BotW Zelda Amiibo. Wanted the Wind Waker and Ocarina ones. :(
Does Nintendo remanufacture often or am I still looking at a scalper's paradise?

You can make a pillar right under gates if there is water. Usually it helps you out, give it a go.

I'll be on my fourth attempt next time I try. All of my deaths have been dumb, the last time was the worst as I landed in a puddle and got zapped by lightning as soon as I started, so really doesn't count.

well,a bit of suggestions if you think you need them

- there are two oars on the opposide sides of the beach, one on the east, next to the hill with one altar and an encampment, the other on the other side, near the other altar in the water..they re really good first weapons

- is better to try for the altar on the hill at the center of the island during a storm...the strongest enemies in that encampment all have metal items with them,so they will die by lightning without any effort on your part

- take your time exploring and gathering resources..after you have enough your first stop should be the encampment on the north-wesy of the island..a blue bokoblin is really the only big problem there.

- against the big boss that has the third ball you can either use hit and run tactics or prepare before by getting as many boulders as you can near him and attack with them with stasys..just try not to get him near a tree or he will use it as a weapon and when he throws it it's difficult to avoid and hurts like hell.

Finding a shrine because the cracked rocks in front of it didn't load past a certain draw distance.

Got to love taking advantage of technical issues, especially in this game how there's a bazillion of everything.

I need an EXTREMELY VAGUE hint on how to progress in
Divine Beast Vah Naboris.
I need to figure out how to get
The top 2 terminals, the ones in the humps. I'm currently out of ideas.

Wait, you can
take pictures of divine beast? Fuck. I really hope I can take a picture of the purified one.

You can't just
fast travel back to those and snap a pic after they are freed
?

*Divine Beast spoiler*

Sorry I meant
the bosses within them, not the mechs themselves. I've been almost avoiding the main quests so I'm just going by what I read earlier in the thread in passing.

'Shrines are tiny you guys!'

I just discovered one with multiple rooms... oh well.

Those seem to be exceptions rather than the norm. Most are a single puzzle, some have a throw away intro to introduce the mechanic and the real puzzle after that, and maybe three or four are more elaborate than that in my experience.

I'm absolutely loving the shrines in the game, they take just right amount of time to solve and you feel rewarded and making progression just by solving the puzzles and gaining the upgrade points. Can't wait to see the dungeons.

I've been playing the game for four days now and I feel I've hardly seen or done anything, the only main guests I've done were in the Great Plateau. This game is gonna eat my time for weeks.

Wait, you guys take photos of everything? I never use the camera lol

Is there a reason to?

If you want to upgrade your gear and can't find a specific material, it comes in handy since you can track them.
I wish I started cataloging stuff from the moment I got the camera but I was too lazy. Now I'm almost caught up, with the exception of the
bosses because who the hell would think to pull out a camera at a time like that?

For the same reason some people will try and find every korok seed, completion. I personally won't try to find every seed, take every photo etc there's a high chance i won't do every shrine too. There's so much content in this game that i genuinely fear I'll give up after about 50/60 hours play without every finishing the game.

My bad habit is playing one game at a time. This will likely dominate my gaming time for quite some time and I'll probably decide to move on to pastures new eventually when i realise i already have a switch backlog and i haven't touched anything else in 4-8 weeks.

Regarding the Garudo turf,
is there any other sets of Garudo armor other than the free set and the one at the store om the left? They're a bit on the weak side.

Also, is it possible to paint items of clothing individually? I wanted to customize my gear a bit but the only way I've found dyes the whole set even if it was more than one color.

I'm at work right now so I can't check, but does the game have a way to easily keep track of all the Shrines you've done outside of the map? I've been considering tackling them all, but I don't know how much work that'll be even with a guide.

They are all marked on your map

So if you feed an apple to a horse, but press b right when the horse eats the apple, the horse still eats the apple but your apple count doesn't go down.

Holy crap, I just saw this giant monster from like a mile away. Are we supposed to fight that? lol

None that I know of, sadly.

If you find a shrine and activate it why wouldn't you complete it right then and there?

Yes
there is a secret shop that sells 2 new sets. There is a password needed to enter.

Like 15 hours in... I still hate the durability system. I just can't get psyched about exploring and finding new stuff, knowing how ephemeral it all is.

I think this game went too far in the survival direction, and not far enough in the RPG one.

Huh, just got the BotW amiibos and noticed the have the same base as Wolf Link. And upon closer inspection, Ocarina Link also shares this same base.

So I guess this is some kind of overarching "Zelda" line and not individual different mini series.

13 hearts huh.

*blows raspberry*
I really didn't expect 13.
After 12 didn't work, I figured I had to fill the whole row, so I went and got 12 more orbs while searching for memories. Then 13 worked, lol.

I really like that they take that mechanic from Zelda 1 and present it so well.

There's no list with names, but the map does mark off the ones you've found, completed and found all the chests within. If you want to know the exact number you can just do the math with your current health/stamina upgrades + orbs in your inventory or look at the loading screen for the number under the orbs you have in your inventory.

I think you will think less that way when you will upgrade your inventory :)

The issue is finding them. If the only means of keeping track is the map, it might get confusing comparing my map with a guide map with all the shrines unlocked. An in game list would have been easier to keep track with, but it seems like that's not an option.

Oh man I finally cleared that
Korok stealth trial.
Only annoying part of the game so far. And
two hearts left for master sword!

Last part of the game, once I had enough hearts, there were a ton that I just activated and moved on from. Wanted to hunt for other things. It's great to have the travel points for later though, when I do feel like going through more of them.

There are just so many little well thought out, albeit kinda pointless, moments in this game that just ooze quality to me. One shrine for example
where you have to avoid all the flowers to get to the entrance or the lady gets pissed.
Could Nintendo have just kept it a normal shrine with nothing around it? Of course and no one would've cared, but this is just one of the many many tiny little details I'm loving so far.

Just to make sure, there was a tooltip that said there is a being that deals in stamina and health upgrades, is it referring
to the statue in Hateno
or is there something else? I ask because the tooltip says it is at the far reaches of the continent.

just tried to ride a Lynel

Put on my sheika dress and snuck up to him an indeed it worked
burned through 5 stamina bars, though, I doubt you can tame them

after that I donned the guard armor and realized: I can take that guy

absolutely spectacular fight, could be a dark souls boss, and a good one

Yo.
YOOOOOO

I had one that I had to leave unfinished. Stasis damaging weapons is dumb as shit and really my biggest complaint about the durability system. Having puzzles that require you to repeatedly hit something until you get it just right and not having a way to have unlimited spawning weapons right near is fucking stupid.

Love everything else about the game though.

Went to Hyrule Castle for a second just to check it out. The music in there is phenomenal! Having minimalism elsewhere really makes that area powerful. Got some cool loot as well.

One loot in particular spoiler here. Don't look if you don't wanna know what's inside.

A friggin false Master Sword! Looks like Dark Link's

Divine Beast Vah Naboris.
I need to figure out how to get
The top 2 terminals, the ones in the humps. I'm currently out of ideas.

General area
top, opposite side of head/neck

More specific area
stand outside while you do the mechanic

Mechanic 1st step
line up all three cylinders so the electric runs along the top

Full Mechanic
Line up all the conduits using the magnet. Get the last one ready to go where he'll lift his tail up, use stasis on it, then run to the end of his tail and as it rises jump on the platform.

That's how you get up there. Solving them is a different story and I think I used a tool outside it's intended use (I wouldn't read this if you want a vague hint)
Shock Arrow to open the door between the two humps where you place the green orbs

I think you will think less that way when you will upgrade your inventory :)

Nah, I've got a pretty substantial amount of weapon slots and 25-40 damage weapons, I just hate the thought of losing them.

Weapons should degrade, but not break unless they're thrown. So a 40 damage becomes a 20 that can be repaired (yes, I know
repairable weapons
are a thing, but not exactly like this).

It's just not a fun system to engage with.

Completely forgot about that, thanks

boko horn plus sunshroom/cold darner. Should be a pretty basic recipe.
Speaking of that... I get how cooking works intuitively, but is there any reason to use particular monster parts in particular recipes? Will you get a better elixir if you use monster parts from tougher monsters, more monster parts, or the more rarely dropped parts (like Keese Eyeball rather than Wing)? I'm always short on critters so I haven't been able to test it myself.

That moment when you find a
white one and the fight takes 40 mins.

This game man

Nintendo damn you, lol
Can unlock a shrine only at night

For someone who is under 20hour of gameplay and already have such powerful weapons... I think you're just greedy, lol

Can you buy rubber armor from a shop later in the game? I'm thinking about selling the helmet since it fetches a pretty penny but I'm scared I won't be able to acquire it again later on.
