And the credits roll. What a masterpiece of a game. I'll give it a month or so to see how I really feel about it but I can completely agree with all the reviewers who said things like it was the new GOAT and their favorite game they've ever played.

I'll probably keep reading the OT and answering questions. What a ride!

I just had three blood moons within a few minutes of playtime. First one happened in the middle of a fight against several enemies, then after I killed them (which caused them to respawn) and then after the fight again.
I hope that does not happen again... besides of that, I've had another awesome day with the game and I will finally tackle my second dungeon tomorrow. Well maybe at least, if I don't get distracted by other stuff.
I've had the blood moon twice in row in the middle of the day. Annoying Cutscene.

Have you done all the side quests and shrines?

Is anyone using the Amiibos? I have quite a few compatible Amiibos, but the fact that you have to go out of your way to enable them makes me think the developers are discouraging against doing it. Do the items you get really break the game balance?

This is incredibly stupid. I can't get over how shit this entire mechanic is.

The armor in this game has a decent sense of progression, but they completely screwed it up when it comes to weapons.

The Master Sword being weak in a Zelda game is a goddamn travesty.
Like every other Zelda game that came before was at best just as bad at this.

OoT's master sword was your default weapon as adult Link, eclipsed in power by the biggoron long sword.

Link to the past's vanilla Master Sword is just level 2 and has to be forged and enchanted to be the most powerful weapon in the game.

The Master Sword was never particularly powerful, it's your default means to attack when the story demands it.

Yeah, the weapon system's pretty awful. It'd be neat if the DLC or something added an option for infinite durability and stamina.

TBH I'd think that make the game kinda boring and makes it lose some of the 'survival' aspects to it. I myself get annoyed by the limitations but stamina is not that bad once you upgrade it 3-4 times, and if weapons didn't break then there's never any worry about deciding when to use your weapons.

Although, of course, the option to have it would be nice as well.

I agree with some sort of redesign of the weapon system though.

I think I've played this for 12-15 hours since launch day, and love it, but fuck, I feel like I've got nothing done yet. Like...7 shrines? Two villages? Haven't even come close to a dungeon yet.

Are some people already finished with the game? I know you can go 'right to the end' from the get go, but wtf.

This game will take me months to get through.

In Hickaly Woods, near the stable on the way to Kakariko, what makes this
giant skeleton
wake up. I was
fighting him yesterday but now it's just a pile of bones
. And I never beat him...

Griss and I are finished but we both had early copies. I also had time off when it was out so I was able to nolife the game for a week pretty much, I imagine if people don't feel like rushing it can take them around a month to beat. As for 100%...

Indeed. I'm making my way to a dungeon right now, but dang. I feel like I've completed about 2% of everything there's to do after ~25 hours.

Yeah. Especially with a job that exhausts me mentally (I'm an introvert who works in retail and dealing with strangers all day drains me). I managed to put in maybe 10 hours since launch. I've only got 8 shrines done.

look closer at the torches. Light one of your own and watch it.

What? Haha!
I used my torch but didn't look at anything special and stumbled into Korok woods on first try. I'm glad there actually was a challenge there because I was a bit disappointed there wasn't.

Any particular method to finding shrines? The tablet locator kind of sucks.

It does! Apparently you can move back and forth while looking in the direction it's pinging to find it easier but I had a hard time making it work so I just turned it off. I explored the vast majority of the map so that's basically how I found the ones I did, plus stuff like shrine quests and things like
Eventide Island and the Lomei Labyrinth.

I feel like all the people complaining about the Master Sword either used it once immediately outside where they got it and then instantly forgot about it, or don't have it and just read the impressions of people in the first group.

It deals double damage inside dungeons, making it the second strongest attack rating weapon in the game, only behind the strongest Lynel greatsword. I used it against a boss for the first time earlier today and absolutely annihilated him.

Not sure how long I have actually played - probably around 12 hours. I've beaten one boss and feel like the world just keeps going.

I have also died more times than I died in every other zelda game combined.

Loving it so far. I need to print out some recipe lists because I keep experimenting and cooking trash every time. Love mixing you the weapons. Loving some of the dialogue too. Brilliant writing.

I feel better now.

Yeah, I mean, each night I've played a bit after work or whatever obligations I had over the weekend, and in 2 hour chunks, I manage to like, traverse a super small area of the map, complete a couple of side quests, break 100 weapons and collect 100 more, complete a shrine or two, and see a bit more of the world.

I really get intimidated when I zoom out twice on the map and see how huge the world is.

Well, I think it's a flaw. You're free to disagree and explain why, but so many people here just don't wanna hear anything resembling critique or negativity that it's starting to irk me a bit.

Most people dont want to bother with criticism from someone who hasnt even played the game.

My issue is that it still "breaks"/has a cooldown. I get that the Master Sword is never really the weapon that deals the most damage and I never expected it to be that. But in a game full of constantly breaking weapons, knowing that the goddamn Master Sword of all things still has a major limitation in how often you can use it is just really annoying to me.

Most people dont want to bother with criticism from someone who hasnt even played the game.

Uh... What? Why would I be in the OT if I wasn't playing the game? Seriously, why does this hit a nerve with so many of you?

So I'm trying to find these shrines in the great plateau to get the gliding thingamaBob and I'm come across this stone rock thing.

My first thought was, I'm gonna to whoop Dat ass boi!!!!!!

I climb up top and hit him with my wood cutter axe and it did so little damage.

I play the long game with him and we dance for 10 to 15 minutes.

Fast foward and all my axe, swords, and Spears are broke. All I have left is a spikeD Bobo club and he has just under half health left.

I thought, we'll this club isn't going to do shit to him. I get up top and hit and that fucking club brought his health down by a large margin. I get up top one last time and he's done.

It felt so bitter sweet to win that fight. I even used my bomb arrows and fire arrows in that fight.

I'm just missing one shrine to get my wings. Why is it easier to see shrines off in the distance than the ones close up?

What I love about this game is how good I am at stealth attacks and kills. I kind of feel bad for my prey sometimes. Weather it's goblins or my diner they never see their end coming.

Why. I don't get it.

Whoa my mistake bud, must have your name mixed up or misread something.

Think about what type of enemy that is and you will have your answer.

Also I'm almost certain I can say that there's nothing missable in this game because even if you didn't get pictures of the Ganonblights, after you beat the final boss Symin has a new category of pictures to sell to you.

I started playing yesterday and so far, i have died more times in Breath of the wild then in Ocarina of time, Majora Mask, Wind waker, Twilight princess and Skyward sword combined.

I'm okay with this.

Just beat Thunderblight Ganon, my first Divine Beast. As someone who has never played a Zelda game before, that was a ride. The actual boss himself was a cake walk, but I love the combat in this game so much, so it was still fun!

Love the game... But where is the epic music Zelda is known for? Some nice melodies, but it takes forever to hear it, Windwaker music was a lot more memorable.
