I need to find some
flame retardant clothing before I head up Death Mountain. Screw you, Nintendo, I'm calling it Death Mountain.

I feel like the Switch itself actually breaks some of the game, like
The Twin Memories Shrines.

I don't mind the weapon durability in and of itself, but I wish there were some weapons that lasted a bit longer. I'd really like to find a relatively sturdy sword that I could rely on. Doesn't need to do a lot of damage—I understand why you want those to be limited use.

I'm not in love with how quickly the weapons break but I guess it means you get to use a heap of different things which is fun.

Does anyone know a good place online for recipes? I find myself constantly using my stamina and haste potions. The haste potions are the bomb considering how massive the overworld is. Funny thing is though the time I save by running around with this potion all the time will probably be offset by the time I have to spend catching the ingredients to make the good haste potions haha!

I got all of the pieces of a set of armour
climbing gear which makes climbing heaps faster and with a haste potion I'm flying up cliffs which is actually fun! Who would have thought.

The one thing I dislike the most is trying to manage my horse, it should be magic and just come to me wherever I am. While it's more realistic this way it's just an "unfun" choice and don't get me started in the motion control shrines... arg I hate that crap.

Got to say I thought I could buy a switch and have the game finished in a week but at the rate I'm being distracted all the time I'm thinking it's going to take about a month.

I fucking hate stalking guardians!!!

"Just parry them breh"

Riiiight. My success rate is like 10 percent. Miss a parry they take out like 8 hearts. Wait too long to parry there goes your 40 shield you really like. These guys are pit bulls. There is no legit strategy. Either peck away with the bow and then charge for some melee hits which devastates your weapons or hope to god your party skills are absolutely perfect. Argh!!! Guardian bow is excellent. Too bad I don't have one at the moment.

Man Zelda's English VA really doesn't fit the character imo :/
It's so weird they chose a British actress when the rest of the cast is American. She also sounds older than her character is in
the flashbacks
.

I hesitated with playing this in Japanese since they include the hiragana pronunciation above every kanji but I know I'd miss a ton of nuance in the dialogues and descriptions.

I just love the little stories in this game. I was in the southern region (directly south of the Great Plateau), in its southwest area. There I discovered a black "smoke signal" and wanted to investigate...

Turns out someone tries to cook things with rather interesting recipes. I thought I could learn something, but, err, nope. And then I went onwards to the shrine. Which was surrounded by literal hills of dubious food created by the unlucky woman. I actually laughed out loud, that was really funny.

The put one ancient arrow on their eyes. Problem solved.

Man I just want to own every piece of clothing in this game. So many rupees to spend.

I just got the
Skeleton costume
and the
Dark Link costume.
Shit is awesome.

Also a help with a side quest in Gerudo desert
The Eight Heroine sidequest. It says somebody in town knows about it but I can't find her.

Yo, where do I get (fruit spoilers?)
durians
? I remember coming across some at one point but I forget where.

Gerudo Town

"yes and no"

Tankie!

So who's got a Wind Waker Toon Zelda Amiibo they've already gotten the exclusive item for and are done with it?

All I want is the exclusive item, I'd even pay you to send it and I'll send it back. xD

or just straight up trade for other Amiibos. Let me know.

I like her VA, I think she did a really good job. Some of those memories have some really good delivery.

But to each their own I guess.

I wonder if the ancient bow you can get from the tech lab even does anything special other than do more damage because ancient arrows exist.

Just finished my 50th shrine. Having a good time. Man, this world is massive.

I do, however, resent the "test of strength" shrines. Those are super repetitive and a major grind. Wish they would've taken the time to fill those shrines with real content.

Well after you get geared up with end game stuff the rest of strength shrines are very easy.

What do you mean by this? Are you talking about using the Camera / Album for this puzzle?

That, but I'm also thinking about the Five Flames Shrine. If you stop using the Altar to lock the button down, when you come back to it, it snaps the Block back to its' original position when you get there, screwing you over.

Well after 1 hour of fighting i bested the final boss before doing any dungeon it's time to do those now:P

Jeez man this game is so epic i teared up during the finale fight.

Omg.
:')

I had 7 hearts and the
master sword......

Now time to go for the true/best ending!
How did you have that?

Well, they're easy now. They're just super boring and repetitive. Maybe 20% of shrines have been the exact same thing? "Just smack this guy around for three minutes."

The put one ancient arrow on their eyes. Problem solved.

Ok I've calmed down now. I meant the ancient arrow. Don't know why I said guardian bow. But yeah I used the 3 I had on the others.

My new strategy when I'm out of ancient arrows: peck away at the eye and remove all legs first. Then keep pecking at the eye and attack the body.

I didn't comprehend how important it is to take away their mobility.

(Last rune spoilers) How do I activate
recovered memories?
I've gotten to the location in the picture but I don't know what to do.

I just stack attack up and use my best weapon. There's a solution to most annoyances in the game.

I honestly dont mind the empty spaces. There were few instances where I thought there was too much empty plain space (like heading to that one Shrine by a far cliffside for example).

All the other times I really enjoyed it and didnt mind it at all. It was a nice break from activity. I dont want to get overloaded by constant fights with enemies or from solving puzzles. Sometimes I just need that moment of peace where I just take in the sights and sounds before something eventually catches my interest.

If we didnt have climbing and gliding, it would be a lot more boring. But having to figure out climbing patterns with low stamina is a fun challenge every time (unless it rains)

remove all legs first.

You can do that!?

Her performance is good but it makes no sense to me she'd speak with a brit accent when
her father
doesn't. Pick one or the other.

Town Spoilers:
I love Gerudo Town, it's probably my favorite village so far. This game does such a good job of fleshing out the cultures of the various races. I love all the humor too that plays with the fact that it's an all-female town. There's a class to teach Gerudo on how to interact with "voe" (i.e. men) ha ha!

I actually spent half an hour fighting the same guardian over and over to learn the parry. You have to push A when the blue energy light/aura shows up a few milliseconds before the laser shoots. The shield strength doesn't matter against them so just use bad disposable ones.

Anyway, here are some other things I figured fighting them:
- Everything Sheika is good against them, even the small 20 sword you get against small robots in shrines
they literally cut the guardian's legs off
- You don't need a Sheika bow, buy some sheika arrows and use a bow
that shoots three arrows. It shoots three for the price of one and that one shots them. No need stressing with aiming for the eye.
- The
master
sword is great agains them. Ran up to one and went insane with it. It actually flipped around and I was able to bash his underside.
- You get some skills doing the dungeons that will help you.
Most specifically the Goron one, it reflects the laser, but also the Gerudo one is good

So I stumbled into my first random L
ynel
and got utterly wrecked. Decided to test out an Ancient Arrow and the thing just utterly disappeared, no loot, just vanished from this dimension. Is that intended? It seems like it kinda is cause I got gud and killed him properly, and was rewarded with delicious loot.

Also, parrying guardians: Once you learn the timing you're able to do it like 95% of the time. I love Guardians.

After finished it a few days ago. I can only say that it's probably one of the best game I've ever played. Don't agree with reviews most of the time but this time, they were right.

And probably my favorite open world game, because I actually finished it (GTA, Witcher 3, Skyrim, they always bore at some point) but also because its level design is absolutely a masterpiece in itself

I just spent about 3 hours exploring the Lanayru Bay and it was so much fun. There's a lot of extremely difficult enemies there including a freaking
Blue-Maned Lynel!
I managed to take it out, but I had to got through 5 different weapons and a bunch of food. Speaking of weapons, I also found 6 weapon types that I hadn't seen before.

At this point, I'm seriously starting to think this might be my new favourite game

I kind of love that I've played this game for well over 10-12 hours (no game time counter btw? Might be for the best...) and come into this thread having no clue what some people are talking about. There really are boundless incentives to taking things at your own pace, exploring for the sake of exploration/discovery/freedom, and exploring the dynamics of the world.
