This concerns me, I already don't like the bosses so far, the shrines/beasts aren't as good as traditional dungeons so if the final boss is lame too... I dunno some of these things are just simply why I love Zelda.

Well I for one am glad they went in a new direction with the series,Nintendo finally got with the times. Traditional dungeons are cool but it was time for a major change and Nintendo obviously went in the right direction with BOTW making the best open world game I've played.

Shoot the horn on his head.
Damn.
He appears in so many different places, at specific times, and it seems like it'd be difficult to find a spot where you could aim at his horn... x_x

Agree. I don't get why people are knocking points off over four bosses that take up no more than a tenth of total playtime . They are parts of a sum.

Am I the only one that figured out the
Lost Woods
almost immediately?

I think it paints a pretty clear picture with the first few
torches
.

I think the new direction is great, but the 4 divine beasts should have just been longer overall.

I don't mind the bosses though.

He should spawn in the same spot and follow the same path every day. If you get close to him, he creates an updraft you can ride to fly close to him, but I recommend just finding a spot ahead of his path and waiting.

-How rare are Star Fragments? Do I waste them using them to upgrade amiibo exclusive armor (NES link)?

- How rare are diamonds? I have 12 but was thinking of selling a couple to buy armor in Tito village to protect against cold, which I desperately need as I've struggled with cold for 30 plus hours now and would like to cut myself some slack.

Awesome creature spoiler

So um why is farosh following me? Found this giant thunder dragon in faron. I came to the temple of time and i see it by one of thr shrines in the plateau. What gives?

Any ideas?

Anyone have an idea where the
oldest sister
is in Rito village?
It says she's really high up, but I can't for the life of me find her.

Do the enemies and equipment scale with you?

I feel like I'm noticing tougher enemies, even in areas that would likely host standard trash mobs.

I'm noticing that a lot more of the loot I'm getting from chests has some kind of bonus attached to it now. Either higher durability, long throw, higher attack, etc.

Finally scored my first Guardian kill! (Not counting the broken-down ones that stand still and let you hit them, I mean.) I snapped an amazing screenshot of the final moments, too, but won't be able to show it off until I get a new microSD for bringing it over.

I took it on in the
southernmost area of the southwestern range dividing Gerudo from Faron
, and received only one heart of damage (from what, I'm not exactly sure). Tactics (including a weapon spoiler):
I made a snap decision to fight it when, just about to run for my life on hearing the music and the beam, I saw that I was on the outer boundary of its patrolling range, meaning I could take cover behind a rock and lob bombs at it while staying out of the line of sight of its beam. I actually had to pick a fight and pull it back more than once when it lost vision of me and returned to its patrol. It was here that I finally discovered that detonating bombs under a Guardian's legs, or just under its sides, topples it over just long enough for me to lop off a leg or two, then return to cover; previously I never managed to get close enough and live to see that happen. I was fortunate enough to have a fully charged Master Sword, so I knocked it on its side with a bomb, sliced off a leg at a time, and when half its legs were off, went straight for the kill in its underbelly.

I still haven't pursued the main quest and would assume it provides you with some tools to make the job easier (don't tell me—I'll get there eventually, and now I think I've earned the right), but in the absence of that, it only took me about 95 hours to get to this point. Had I known the method above was so effective, I could have accomplished this much earlier.

Now we'll see if I can do it twice.
I also haven't managed to kill a Lynel, and I'd really like to upgrade the armour set that requires its parts.

Considering the size of the game, I feel like they could have done both, and itd be a better game for it.

Well, if you're grading a test you mark everything that's wrong, don't you? Well this is a game, not a test, but for a game as universally praised as this it makes sense to point out the few flaws. It's nowhere near a perfect game.

Really not enjoying this game as much as I feel I should be.

Trying to force myself to like it more but getting frustrated and or bored with the game over time. I'm just not sure why I can't like it like everyone else, that in itself is annoying me.

I miss the charm from the previous games. I miss the narrative buildup to the world in Wind Waker, I miss having an artstyle that feels like it hits exactly what they wanted to achieve.

I miss the articulated design, difficulty, pacing and structure of these carefully crafted games. I resent the artificial nature of this games agency. Do anything you want they say, but make sure you go to the tower first. Go anywhere they say, but the enemies in that direction do four times the damage of the enemies in the other.

I miss the personality exuded by soundtracks of the previous games, I miss the combat that encouraged me to use a wide range of different skills, learning and adapting to each scenario.

I resent the combat system. I dislike shifting my equipment every few seconds. It doesn't promote variety because the functional operation of every weapon is near enough the same. There are fast weapons and there are slow, and that's it. Dealing 10 damage or 20 doesn't make the game any more varied, and it's not worth the stop and start gameplay experience, at least, not for me. None of these weapons have attack sets anywhere near as versatile or interesting as the default in Wind Waker or Ocarina of Time.

I miss the dungeons. I didn't even realise this was an issue until I encountered my first dungeon. A very small collection of puzzles sewn together with a boss that feels out of place and poorly designed.

I'm still enjoying it overall. The exploration is fun, when I play it, I always want to see what's around the next corner. It's nice to see a Zelda universe that feels fleshed out and believable in scale and scope, yet I can't help but miss much of the design considerations of its predecessors.
