After playing for more than 30 hours of just wandering around and exploring Hyrule... I'm starting to truly miss the overall music that past Zelda games used to excel superbly. Nature sounds and minimalistic piano pieces are great but I miss those epic and catchy themes while exploring. Does this game even has catchy tunes a la Gerudo Valley or Dragon Roost Island in Wind Waker?? :(

Yep, I wholeheartedly agree and I've been saying this before as well. Gerudo Valley, Dark World from ALTTP, Kokiri Forest and so on. Some of the music is really nice like Hateno Village but it's not on that caliber.

I'm finally ready to move on from the Desert.

Oh hey you can examine the thunder helm, I wonder what happens.

Oh. I guess I can spend a few more hours here game.

having now explored almost all the west, and a good portion of the east I gotta say it seems the east is waaay better developed with more treasure, towns, stuff to do, etc.

anyone else feel the same? feels like a lot of content maybe couldnt be added to the western map

Okay, I give up, can someone give me a general location tip on the last Great Fairy?

So far i found these:
the one close to Kakariko, the one close to Tabantha Tower, the one in Akkala.

Just the general location really, no specifics please.

That's a shame, I've only done the East so far.

She's
somewhere in the Gerudo Desert.

The Southwest didn't feel underdeveloped to me.

Muwo Jeem Shrine with three heart containers was insane. A fitting punishment for my greedy stamina upgrade path, I guess ... Biggest difficulty spike in early game?

Been trying to find this chest in
Hateno
for ages. I feel like sometimes the
sensor+
just doesn't work :| Also not sure I spoiler tagged correctly or that it was necessary but did it anyways :)

Haven't been through it, but the southwest that I've been through didn't feel less developed. More dangerous due to the desert and snowfield that can keep you from exploring more thoroughly, but there's lots of stuff in the Gerudo area.

Also
sandskiing with the seals
is amazing

A npc told me
its on the path of the thunder dragon.

Wait, what do you mean? Does something special happen when you fight enemies during the blood moon? I thought it just respawned enemies?
late post lol my mistake..in the last thread i got the impression the blood moon lasts a certain period of time in which rarer items and stuff spawn when fighting tougher enemies.

That's how i'm used to it in terraria

Omg, that blue light in the mountains at night.
It's amazing how the music and atmosphere just totally changes as you approach the area. It was ghastly and eerie until you actually reach the pond. Not sure what the point of the Lord of the Mountain is, but I snapped a picture of it.

Found a funny way to clear the shrine
that was covered in ice

First freeze the ice block so it doesn't melt. Go get the metal box in the lava and bring it to the entrance. Bring the ice block just on top of the first stairs (right under the goal area. Put two octo-balloons on it and give it a little wind with the leaf. It won't travel far enough forward to land by the goal area, so use magnesis and the metal box to steer the Ice block to the goal area when it falls. I didn't have patience for the flames and all that stuff, but I spent 30 minutes figuring out this method. lol. First I just tried to lift the metal box with the ice block on top, but it fell right off. I even tried to put a lot of flint and bananas around it so it couldn't move, but that wasn't enough :P

Jesus...

After 50 hours of this game with very little issues with horseback riding, this horse obstacle course is going to destroy me. Epona literally swerves and strafes to avoid the obstacles. I'm dead center and she just turns away from it.

Been trying to spawn a blood moon for 40 minutes using safe scum with no luck.
Can't believe a shrine requires me to stand in a certain spot nekkid during a blood moon.

Any tips?

The thing is that the game lies to you with the NPC that says blood moons occur every midnight.

They can happen at ANY point in the day and multiple times if they really want to. Just stand in the spot and leave the game running. Theres no reason to waste campfire material.

Proud of myself for figuring out Kass's riddle song in Horon Bay.

Got a new horse today to replace my old horse, Snoopy, pity "Prickly Pete" can't fit. PriklyPet will have to do.

In all I did enjoy the gerudo desert and the town especially. Key things there I really enjoy were overworld boss
Molduga
, Sneaking mission, and the mission to get into the town. Seal surfing is also a lot of fun.

Im not trying to say I didnt enjoy the west, hell I spent like 6 hours exploring the barren hebra mountain north west, its just it seems to have less stuff than the east so far. The terrain though is pretty beautiful especially around the rito province

i love me this game

What the hell I have like 20 of those octo items and never knew I could do that with them. I thought all monster parts are just for cooking...

I wonder If I can attach it to a horse :P

So apparently if you
throw a damaged weapon at an Octorok that's swallowing up stuff, it will spit the weapon back at you, completely healed.

We should talk about how grand the Vah Ruta music is.

I'm disappointed in myself for not figuring it out yet...

"17 of 24? 5pm! I will set sail in the direction cast by the islands shadow"
All I found were two chests in the ocean, shockingly neither contained a shrine. I feel like this is the right idea but hmm.

Because people here seem to run out of arrows: a nice way to always keep your steady ammount of arrows is to find enemies with bows, isolate them from their group and then let them shoot at you for a little while. Dodge their shots and pick up the arrows from the ground!
It doesn't work for an infinite ammount of time (I think you can get around 5-6 arrows in each encounter), but it keeps you afloat!

That's a glitch, homie

Is there anything to these wells with a small rock chained to it? I have one now but the chain and rock are thrown over another object. I can use stasis on it, but do I get anything if I manage to get the rock into the well again? I've been trying for a while now and it doesn't really seem to work.

Those are Korok puzzles. Use
magnesis.

Should give you a Korok seed.

A royal pain in the ass you mean

In a sadistic way, it's pretty funny when you are doing sidequests like fixing marriages by collecting chickens while Zelda is suffering.

She'll suffer a lot more if Link attempts to face Ganon again while underpowered.

All quests in this game serve to give Link the tools necessary to defeat Ganon. Whether that's by receiving new weapons, more money, better outfits, better food, the aid of the Divine Beasts, etc.

BotW is the only open world game I can think of where taking your time actually makes sense within the context of the game's narrative. It's already been 100 years, so it's ok for him to spend a bit more time preparing himself.

So I dropped my Z
ora Mipha(?) Trident
and didn't realise until like a day or two later (must've been knocked out of my hands during a battle. I didn't take a photo of it so can't locate it and the blacksmith won't give me a new one because he says "it's still out there somewhere in the world". Am I boned?

Chances of success in finding it again are less than a needle in a haystack.
