The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild |OT2| It's 98 All Over Again

The second half of the battle is what kills me. I just always lose during the beam spam.

I'm motivated to try this again.

The beam where he goes in a circle? Or the one where he calls it a day and goes nuts with the beam directly at you?

For the latter that's the time to go all out and grab whatever is your strongest weapon and smash away at him.

Theres one where he fires multiple at the same time. That gets me off guard as well as the random Axe swing that I get caught by being over eager.

I gotta be more patient.

Vast majority of reviews are for the Switch version, so I assume there are less 100/100s for the Wii U version to bring the average up.

EDIT: Just checked, and that's 5 critic reviews for Wii U version versus 81 for Switch.

Oh, haha I could have checked that.

Lower sample size reduces accuracy of results. Should have known!

Finished Zoro and Goron. Should I go Rito or Gerudo next?
The Rito main quest is by far the shortest and most uninspired of them all. Took me about an hour to finish it (including the dungeon). Save the Gerudo quest for last. Was my favorite part of the story by far. Everything about the desert is just brilliant. The dungeon is also the most cleverly designed of them all, by far. I made the "mistake" to do the Gerudo part first, so everything after it beside the Goron Quest line was rather disappointing. If one wants to go from worst to best, I would highly recommend doing it in this order: Rito < Zora < Goron < Gerudo.

Is there a way to get onto the high mountain in the very, very west? I seem to get pushed away from it by the game when trying to mount it.

Kinda wish I did Rito first now. At the same time I dont think I'd have been prepared to make that journey early on. There are so many high powered enemies on the way.

Gerudo was an absolute blast. Loved everything about it. Two games in a row where the desert areas completely blew me away.

They give you 30 thousand bananas and you can even stasis the guards

You can just sneakstrike all of them. I didn't even bother with the bananas. I tried to drop one from the rafters for the last guy just to try it, and I fell off and ended up fighting him.

It's very easy lol....

Go outside and go over the mountain top over the
yiga base
and go via the backside you can skip it al together that way.

haha
I was talking about the
korok
mission. I don't know if this is a bug but he/ it always sees me no matter what I do.

Can someone tell me if they have ever experienced any odd control issues? I am about 2 hrs into the game and using a pro controller. I lose all functions of right anolog stick and linkwill walk on his own without me using the left analog stick. If i move the left stick he will turn but still move on his own. It has only happened twice and has lasted about 20 seconds. I don't know at this point if it's a game issue or controller issue.

I got this at launch but never posted in the old thread because I'm busy and trying to go completely blind for the whole thing, but holy shit guys I'm not even to
the first dungeon
and I've already had at least FOUR "holy fuck you can DO that?" or "you can GO there?" or "this is HAPPENING?" moments

Jesus. I'm so excited to get some free time to jump back in

Bye for now! It'll probably be OT4 until I've finished the game enough to read stuff in here

What's wrong with it? It's pretty much the same as every other Zelda game.

Well, that doesn't mean it a perfect system. But alas fighting one boss, with camera being stupid, being in an enclosed area, you would think locking on would work properly, as in, you are looking at the boss, but the lock on doesnt even works when I want it to. I would be constantly trying to press the lock on the button whenever the upside down target arrow is shown, and it is not consistent in locking down. This boss is annoying and so were others due to this.

I do wish the shrines themselves had a bit more visual difference to them, some overgrowth, rust, snowy ones etc. It's why I like
the shrine quests ones. Which I enjoy a lot more because of that. Things like the mazes, Eventide, the thunder plateau.

2 questions:

All the stuff dropped by the guardians, should I basically bring it all to
the lab in Akkela?

What can I do with the chuchu bits? can cook them?

haha
I was talking about the

mission. I don't know if this is a bug but he/ it always sees me no matter what I do.

Despite putting on a brave front, little Korok is nervous as heck. So he's jumpy and looking around for "what was that?" even if you never do anything to alert him. Use trees and stuff to hide behind when he does this.

They dropped the ball with Lake Hylia in this game, it's just another oversized pond. Should have added more visual flourish to that area and maybe some unique piano strings like they did for the Temple of Time.

So I didn't actually talk to Impa about what was up and then ran off to Zora's Domain, lamo.

Might have to fast travel back.

Only did Zora and Rito
Rito was more fun

imo Rito will give you something very useful, so I'd go for that

Is Rito top left or bottom left of the map?

I loved that boss BECAUSE of how bullshit he was, actually. All the other major bosses felt so generic and easy, but this guy fucks you up HARD if you're not prepared.

Basically this yah.

Dark Souls esque
dudes with swords
only work when they're fuck off hard.

Too bad there are more of those tilt mazes. Oh well.

What's a good way to grind rupies? Lots of stuff I wanna buy but I don't want to sell something I'll need later.

Fuuuuuuuck these
Lost Woods
Shrine Quests. They're just so boring and tedious. The total opposite of the fun I've been having up until now.

I have a couple of minor complaints about this game but the one thing that really bothers me is the controls. The run and jump buttons are placed in a position where I'm placing my fingers in an awkward position. I tried switching them but still doesn't feel comfortable. I also keep crouching when I'm trying to run and attack my enemies. I really hope in the next Zelda, they allow you to map controls to the buttons you want. Other than that, the durability system doesn't bother me and I really am liking this game.

I'm fine with rain for the most part, but it's kind of bullshit that advancing time at a fire often isn't enough to get past a rainy period.

Just wondering if you can game the system by saving and reloading? I've noticed if you reload the same save, the weather is random.

IT would suck to fell like you have to game the system like that, but does it work?

I must be a genius of motion control because i didn't find anything wrong or annoying about the motion controlled shrines. I have only encountered one so far but it really controlled perfectly to me and i actually found it super interesting while easy to pull off, got it on my first try.

Sometimes i don't know if gaf just hates motion control just because it's not traditional or if it's just frustration because you are bad at it. Or maybe your joycons are fucked?

How can I upgrade my armor more than once? For some reason, the Great Fairy next to Kakariko won't show what the materials are required to go above the first upgrade. Unless i need to find another Great Fairy?

You have to unlock more of them to increase their collective ability to upgrade to the next level.
