Gaming industry (even journalism side) is basically a part of STEM industries, where female represntation is horrible due to gender appropriation. Should start with bettering education to attract more females to STEM fields rather than cleaning up some random parts of it from prejudices.

Prejudices about the role women should play in society have absolutely contributed to the decreased number of women working in this field.

Not all gaming industry professions are STEM-related, either.

It says that even on a day that is literally supposed to be recognized as the day we stop and think about exactly how we treat women in our daily lives, and how harshly they have been treated in just the gaming industry alone, that not only do you try and pull the shitty joke, you double down on being confronted by it, by refusing to acknowledge you could ever be wrong. That really, "international women's day" means nothing because you're still just going to go for the low hanging fruit jokes and never think twice about what you're saying, and think "Oh I don't actually believe this it's totally okay to joke about it" as if that's some sort of magical get out of trouble free card to pull every time someone calls you on your shit.

You do not get to magically decide that "this" is the time that it's not a big deal. It does not work that way. Get it through your fucking head, and drop the holier than thou attitude with your posts.

Or maybe, people should continue to focus on international women's day and all the strides women have made in the past few decades, and ignore a stupid joke. Your viewpoint is that the issue rests with people making shitty jokes. In my opinion the fact that such stupid jokes may be influential is the issue we have to tackle if that is a problem. Why the hell are such stupid jokes causing such widespread sexism? Lack of education maybe.

It's very clear that the rest of the group were getting profoundly uncomfortable, both with him and with the crowd of knuckle-draggers he was bringing to the fanbase, so this is the right move for both parties.

You'd hope that this would inspire some introspection on his part as to why it is that he needs to leave, but I'd be very surprised.

Ultimately it's a good move. Just like EasyAllies the guys over at KindaFunny want a community and content that promotes positivity. With Colin being there is causes friction and leads to more negative shows and brings in people the kind of people they are not comfortable with.

Even ignoring his shitposting on twitter and political tirades I found him to be a much more negative person in games discussions. He seemed very negative on games and most of the time he barely played any for more than 20 minutes. It made plenty of discussions about games obnoxious to watch. It didn't feel like a proper discussion/criticism and more like bitching with next to no nuance.

Even though I enjoyed some of his content and the fantastic chemistry and dynamic with Greg I think this is a good move.
