Bullshit. He's been a part of the package since the beginning and he's been the same person since IGN.

I assume they were sick of his shit. Is that hard to imagine?

Yes, bish was the only moderator who ever did anything good. There are no mods watching this thread or writing any names down.

If you said this and posted a gif with a slime on someones face then maybe people would believe you but until then I'm suspect.

This sucks. Colin was my favorite member of Kinda Funny as I agreed with him the majority of the time plus his chemistry with Greg was awesome. Oh well.

More like a lone grizzly.

I never said it wasn't sexist. But he is not sexist. He doesn't believe that. A fundamental nature of a joke is that it is NOT meant to be taken seriously. He is annoyed that people did. He is a poor comedian and he muttered a stupid joke. If the joke really will leave an impact on women, and cause them to be oppressed or something then even being humor it is still wrong, but it really frikkin doesn't.

It would be fucked up if he truly believed the joke. Or used the joke as a platform against women.

And yet another compliment I've received in this illustrious conversation. I'm truly on a roll.

Yeah but he does seem to have become more jaded and negative over the past year or so, which is one of the main reasons I stopped listening to KF for the most part. Listened to PS I Love You last week and he went on a rant about how SJWs are out of control, and that anyone offended by people dressing up as Native Americans for Halloween was ridiculous. I would have definitely never tuned in again after that rant. I can only speak for myself though.

Wish him and Kinda Funny success doing their own thing without each other. Looks like this was a long time coming. Watching the morning show it seems like this was as mutual as it gets.

I will say this. After about a year into KF I started to notice that it felt like while Colin wasn't necessarily playing less games, he was playing less of them and often times going in ready to dislike them. That led to an air of negativity to a lot of the discussions they would have. Part of that was due to depression which is awful, but it never really fully left. And then as the election went on he picked up more and more, for lack of a better label, alt right tendencies.

I have no problem with conservatives on the whole which is what allowed me to a fan for years now (I've probably followed them for like 9 years of my life). But negativity on the gaming front and negativity towards others on Twitter made it harder for me to consume KF content.

I hope that with time off he manages to dial back some of that negativity because all the criticism I've had for him (and the podcast) over the last year comes from someone who genuinely cares for Colin and Greg after the entertainment throughout the years, and I just want them to hit that same level as the Beyond years.

Anyways, looking forward to continuing with KF for awhile. Interesting to see who takes his place. Please be Goldfarb.

What the hell guys? I didn't ask for examples of humor of any kind promoting sexism. I already mentioned that if the humor does promote bigotry then it is absolutely wrong. My point was that Colin's particular tweet is not an example of such humor. I'll have to reply to some of the examples individually and explain how they are different.

You don't get to make that call. You're not in some position to judge what jokes will have an impact on people. I understand that you're upset that someone got called out for doing something sexist that you think is okay, but you're not helping anyone by making arguments that sexist jokes aren't sexist.

And you are in a position to explain how a joke will impact people? Give me a break man. Any statement can have varying impacts on anyone. The key is to strike a line between freedom of what one can say and not offending others. Clearly you and your other cronies have it skewed in one particular direction while I have it in another.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say the vast majority of people in this thread aren't KF fans. Greg, Tim, and Nick repeatedly voiced their support for Colin today, emphasizing that there is no bad blood, and that they still love him as a brother. They disagreed with him many times throughout his time at KF, but they never thought less of him. This thread has just thrown vitriol at him at an alarming rate. You are free to disagree with the man, even dislike him, but he's not a fucking shitstain on the human race like so many are suggesting in here.

Sexists are actually pretty clearly shitstains on the human race.

Jesus, people in this thread are just fucking awful. I didnt agree with Colin on a lot but lots of you are frothing at the mouth about this.

I think this is a sad end. For all his problems he brought a unique perspective and it was entertaining. I dont consume entertainment just to see and here exactly what I want. And I cant separate real issues from childish internet bullshit.

He put himself in this position. I have no problems with Colin being a libertarian or whatever. But it's his other views that are toxic.

The simple fact that He is so damn quick to call anyone on the left "snowflakes" and "running" to their safe spaces. The fact that he blames everyone else except the people that actually voted for Trump as the reason that he's President.

The simple fact that He tells ME a black man that I have to sit down and talk with people who hate me for my skin color because I need to reach out to them.

Yet he is slow or outright doesn't comment on his toxic followers or the people that hate others, yet he outright follows people like jontron on twitter. Like right after Jon has said some of the most hateful bigoted and racist shit. Tells me all I need to know about Colin.

He made a stupid unfunny "joke" on that day of all days. You have women in the games industry that have been harassed, doxxed, sent death threats and get tons of shit for just existing. yet he says something like that. How any women do you think saw that who have met him over the years and was disgusting and disappointed in him.

This clearly brought negativity on their business. KF is big in the gaming world. I'm sure they got tons of feedback from everyone else in the industry as well. Hell even the members of KF openly said they didn't like what Colin did.

He got let for his own actions. He'll be fine. I wouldn't be shocked if he ended up on Glenn Becks The Blaze network. You know a "safe space" for Colin.

I wonder how people would've reacted if he had joked about "gamers are dead" or "white people are so fragile".

Women are fair game though.

hmmmm people that don't think like you, scary huh?

Not really

JonTron recently started to talk so much shit that I admit Im kinda scared of him though

EDIT: And guess what, I actually like and respect Colin despite of his recent stuff which I deeplt disagree and Im sad to see him go, especially like this

Eppy Thatcher

God's had his chance.
I think it was Tim that responded to someone on Colin's twitter after he made his lil joke - they were basically saying "I'm not really on board with this kind of humor and the people showing up here are even more worrisome. Are these the kind of people/fans you guys are looking for"

and Tim straight up said "No. These aren't the kind of people I want as fans."

I thought that was a little intense coming from someone within the group but perhaps this was being telegraphed much earlier than I realize. Not really a hardcore KindaFunny fan. Catch that weekly chat they do and that's almost it - probably my favorite episodes are the ones where Colin was swapped out with a special guest or something so I'm good with this but this definitely seems like it's happening super fast to someone that's not in the know on these guys.

Time to go talk to his little crowd within the crowd to get that money. I hope he doesn't go into legit politics as I think a lot of his views are toxic but also cause i'm sure he'd get eaten alive in the world outside of gaming.

I feel like he's been yelling more and more about something and none of the guys were really gonna challenge him on it. It was a one-sided argument if it involved politics. They even gave him his own show so he could just rant away.

I think it's more that all of it came to a head or reached a boiling point. Colin's views and kind of his rash behavior are not new. I think it was mostly him wanting to get more involved in political entertainment and not being able to fully let that happen in his current situation.

Something tells me Colin was being VERY respectful of his colleagues and status, and now that he's been freed of the need to adhere to something resembling a presentable persona, we are about the see the real Colin in the next few days with who he "suddenly" aligns himself with and the causes he "suddenly" supports, publicly

Are you really arguing that sexist jokes don't normalize misogynistic rhetoric and do damage to the progress being made for equality for women? I don't really think that's a hill you want to die on man.

Again, you're not the arbitrator of what is and isn't an egregious example of "promoting sexism".

Anyway as far as I'm aware this thing with Colin has been brewing for a while. The tweet was just the backbreaking straw.

Yeah, someone that works at a think tank that puts a ton of money and energy toward denying climate change, someone that just went on an embarrassing and jingoistic rant and a dude that's made his living shouting crazed, right-wing conspiracy theories are scary and dangerous people.

I wouldn't be shocked if it goes down that way. For a lot of these people the writing is on the wall.

Or maybe tolerance from the left? I love how GAF hates him so much for having opposing views to them, now they're happy he's gone so they can live in their little bubble where they don't have to hear contrary opinions. It's only bad for the world when stuff like this happens.

oh for fucks sake!!! yes, the right can think of someone like obama as a secret muslim antichrist yet when we show any outrage towards anything sexist and or bigoted and we get "lol! so much the tolerant left"

why is it so hard for people to see the yes Colin was good at his job, I agreed with him on his Nintendo Switch video, but also habor higly questionable opinions that people called him out on!? like shit! one quality can effect the other therefore why he resigned.

this thread it's like that thread we had way back when people said we should have sympathy for a rascist losing his job as he filmed himsel along with a group of people saying racist remarks to a anti-trump supporter then posted it to his facebook with more racist remaks.

nothing wrong with Joe Rogan. He's the fucking man.

Rogan has said some pretty despicable shit. We had a thread on him defending Trump, denying the gender wage gap, and agreeing that "grab them by the pussy" is funny?

At least he gets alt-righters on the show and challenges them...aside from Alex Jones, who he is strangely buddy-buddy with. Maybe Jones is really funny or something.

Hahaha the *tolerant left* remark still gets me everytime.

Considering that he began following Jon in the wake of him exposing himself as an overtly racist white nationalist, it kind is speaks to where Colin is at rn

Also people can defend Joe Rogan, but he's also the guy who gives people like Milo and Alex Jones a platform and has said blatantly transphobic shit

We're allowed to celebrate how low he's fallen since it just happened. Give it like a week and then we can forget he ever existed.

as much as i want to believe that this will get bushed in a week

i dont think it will

all it would take is Colin making another "joke" and the gaffers stalking his twitter will mention it or make a thread about it
