When did I say that? I'm not the poster who said there wasn't anything memorable.

I just mean to say that the dungeons adding nothing to the grander scheme negates their impact on the dynamic of link and the associated character. Each one envelops a complete character / story arc, so suggesting that they are simply set pieces and nothing more probably isn't correct.

Is it easy to stumble upon the (weapon spoilers)
Master Sword questline? I definitely want to get it but I'd like to find it on my own without internet help if that's reasonable. What about the Hylian Shield?

I found both just by exploring. Don't give up!

Can you please clarify? Everyone else said that if you load a save data in the dungeon you'll just go back to the entrance.

You have to activate 5 switches in each dungeon and you can save inbetween activating each of them. Otherwise, the dungeons are built so there is extremely small travel time between the entrance and every switch. The boss fight is basically always at the entrance of the dungeon.

Funny. I've been shrine hunting and exploring for 10 days and just finished Gerudo tonight. Now onto the other three. Eventually...

You've only seen about 15% of the game. They are everywhere. Get out and explore!

Hah, thanks. I think because I want the
Master Sword
as soon as possible I'm just eager to get the orbs needed. Maybe I should just chill.

I'll just say that I enjoyed each of the 4 areas and their story around their guardian (Gerudo was my favorite and was, appropriately enough, was the most involved) but if someone didn't care much for the story having played a fair chunk of the game but not the dungeons, they probably wouldn't be swayed by the stories of those areas.

Though the Rito village music is strong

I wonder whether I found a bug/glitch...

I went to mount Lanaka, where
I healed the dragon there, and got its scale... I use the scale in the fountain, enter the shrine, open the chest and find a weapon I already have. I reload a previous save, and discover I don't have the scale in the inventory, but the game still say "throw it in the water"...
Pretty sure I couldn't access the shrine anymore.

So I re-reload a save from inside the shrine, no big deal, but still, be careful...

Also, I noticed that you could add
the dragon
in the encyclopedia... Does it appear again later, or if you forget to take its picture, it's gone forever?

It appears
every day, and you can get a scale every day if you need it,
so nothing gamebreaking

You can see it again.

Will a
Blood Moon
not happen if you're passing time with campfires?

I'm doing a Shrine Quest to stand naked on this pad during a
Blood Moon
, and I've lit a fire and passed something like 30 nights now - I know because I started with around 40 Fire Arrows and now have around 8 - and
Blood Moon
just refuses to happen.

This is a really stupid RNG "hurry up and wait" quest.

So you're saying that in each dungeon's entrance there's a sort of a hub from which you could access all the switches? But what happens when you save the game after activating one switch, turn off the game, and load the save data?

Is it your last shrine? Why wait there? I found that spot pretty early and I plan to quick travel nearby and run there next time I see a blood moon start to rise.

I see... Good to know, I was expecting something like this. Still, strange save bug, I'd say.

(it wouldn't have been "gamebreaking" except for completionnists, I guess, anyway...)

I have a question regarding (weapon/quest spoilers)
the Master Sword. So I've found it, but I'm unable to pull it out at the moment due to my total number of hearts. I don't want to know how many hearts I need to accumulate to be able to pull the sword, but I remember hearing about a specific quest that would lead me to the Master Sword. I have not come across this specific quest, is this something I can still find before getting the Master Sword, or is it just what you get when you discover the sword itself?

I've been playing for 50 hours and so far I haven't experience a single dull moment yet. I've played many games and because of my busy schedule usually I dropped them as soon as I find them boring, but I just can't stop thinking / playing BotW right now.

I'm gonna save my full thoughts until I actually finished this game but I think Nintendo really struck gold with BotW this time.

I really enjoyed the Divine beasts. Though I do hope the dlc dungeon is a more traditional themed dungeon.

Although it made sense plot wise, the divine beasts all had the same tileset going on which was a bit disappointing.

The Zora quest was the first that I stumbled upon but fuck water areas so I abandoned it and went to Gerudo. How bad is the boss? Can I ignore it and go to another beast if it's too much trouble?

I wouldn't call them good cutscenes due to the near garbage tier English VA.

Still better than no VA. It made some of the cutscenes in SS rather silly.

Still plowing away through the game. I have no idea how many hours I've put into it because the Switch unfortunately doesn't keep track. 49 shrines complete, 15 of those stupid seeds. Two dungeons remaining (and I'm in the middle of both).

Sometimes I love the game, sometimes I hate it. Once the dungeons are finished, I'm going to tackle Ganon. I feel like I've done all that's worth doing at this point.

I've to say that is sad to see so many people who needs the game to tell them exactly what to do by setting the pacing itself. Too many players have been used to "open world games" who hold their hands and are missing 70% content of this game if not more just because it doesn't highlight everything the players could do.

That's super sad that a whole generation of players of been brainwashed like this not be able to make their own adventure alone and need pointers instead of discovering on their own.

I've been playing for around 110 hours and there's still one region I haven't explored at all.

320 korok seeds, 105 shrines. Loved every minute I've spent playing this and it feels like there's still plenty to check out before I head for the end.

Yep easy to bail and easy to return.

Small Minor Story Spoilers.

The game actually explains why Link is silent.
Holy shit, this is the gift that keeps on giving. I love it!

Also, I actually love the personality of this Zelda as well.
Just read her diary.
Deep thoughts.

Has anybody figured out how the creation of potent elixirs works exactly? So I know that a critter and a monster part results in an elixir based upon the effect that the critter part has (and just like cooking of food, you can't have multiple effects, you need to stick to one). Using multiple critters of the same "effect group" (up to four, you need a monster part, after all) results in a more potent elixir, with some critters having a larger "value" of the same effect. On the other hand, using four monster parts and only one part of a critter results in a really weak potion. So you apparently need only 1 monster part and 4 critters, seems clear enough.

What I don't get is how different monster part's rarity / quality play into this. I only tested for a bit (I couldn't be bothered to do the reload-try-reload-try method yet...) because of limited critter materials (I seldom pick those up, plants are more convenient). But I combined four kinds of a critter with say a Bokoblin horn, and then the same four critters with a Moblin horn and the resulting elixirs were identical. Do I have to use a monster part of a "rare" creature that puts up a proper fight like
a Hinox or a Lynel
(minor spoiler of creature names)? I haven't got around to try it with those. Because I was lazy. Does anybody know?

I haven't experimented enough but I have a feeling monster parts that don't have a special effect themselves, only ever increase effect duration, not potency. My reasons for this belief:
1) Stacking horns adds duration, but even four won't increase potency, unlike stacking the ingredient that gives the effect.
2) That's also how it works with meals: ingredients with no innate effect like apples and acorns increase effect duration (aside from hearts restored, obviously), but never effect potency; you have to stack the ingredient that gives the effect in the first place.

Oh my god, the feeling when all you hear is about a dreaded motion controlled mini golf shrine and you manage to beat with your very first swing! O.o

That was one of the first quests I found too but I thought screw it and got it over with. It's actually not too bad and
you get the Zora armor that helps you swim better (and up waterfalls)
so pretty handy. The dungeon is pretty good but the boss can be a little tricky at first but isn't too bad when you learn his attack patterns, just make sure you have
plenty of arrows

Also the
Champions power of resurrection
is very handy, especially early in the game.

I have to say: even though the story cleary is nothing really special, I really do like the overall tone.
Espcially
Zelda's struggle to follow the expectations, conventions and traditions of her ancestors.

It fits with the game itself turning its back on the conventions of the previous Zelda games.

The gyro together with analog creates the best precision for aiming ob a home console. I love it in botw. It could be a good solution for fps games with the pro controller.

I wish I could say the same about my Wii U gyro. It is slow, shakes and is unreliable. It is a launch console, not sure if it is better on later revisions. Switch seems fast and precise from what I have seen.

Man, these pitch black challenges are very fucking difficult on an OLED tv (perfect black). Can't see shit. Makes for some amazing contrast though.

Simple question:
I'm quite early in the game but I have many different types of ores I've collected. I have very little money but it seems that since nearly no enemies drop rupees that this is the new system to earn rupees. Without spoilers, I just want to know if I should sell the following:

Amber
Opal
Topaz
Ruby
Sapphire
Lizaflos Tails/Talons
Chuchu Jelly
Keeses Pieces ;)
Octorok Tentacles

So far I've just been selling Bobokin Horns and Fangs for money since I know I can get more. Is there crafting or something I'll need to save the aforementioned list for? Lastly, I managed to get 3 Hinox Toenails and 1 Hinox Tooth. What do I do with these?

Thanks, GAF :)

It begins lol
