Shrine thing in the rainy/thunder place.

Is there a reliable way to get the coloured orbs up onto the plateau? I've tried cryonis and stasis, regular stasis and bombs but the lip at the top of the three collapsed sides always keeps them from getting up there.

The ending is a bit weak that's all.

Lol, NO.
Is it weaker than all of WW, TP and SS?

No way.

The ending of this game was the most Epci ending I've experienced in a very long time, from the moment I set foot in Hyrule castle grounds and the music started playing.

And the build up during the game was awesome too, but of course you would have to
have finished the 4 divine beasts too and gotten all the memories

Do you guys want more story in the next Zelda game, like TP and SS?

I kind of like the way this game did it. Reminded me a bit of Metroid Prime, where the story isn't right in front of you, you kind of need to piece it together yourself. There's a lot of blank holes in the story where you can put what you believe happened.

this is what i ended up doing:

i found a cliff high enough to stasis it onto the plateau

Mechanics/puzzle solution spoilers (but not really spoilers):

I managed to do it with stasis and those ramps, but I also tried attaching an octorok balloon and then shooting arrows at the orbs, and it almost worked. This was before I knew that you can attach multiple octo balloons to the same object, so doing that might work.

^ That's interesting, because there have been a lot of folks saying the ending is really impactful. In fact, the single memory I've found has been more emotionally satisfying than most of the past Zelda moments/endings on its own. They do a nice job with the direction, music, and animation.

yeah I was feeling like stopping while in the corner in Hebra, not finding much, poor FOV with snow and fog, then came upon a shrine, then another, then the snowboard hill, then another shrine, and some peaks for Korok, then wanted to upgrade my stamina at a statue and then and then and then...its 1am.
LOL Yeah, the time drain in this game is real.

Got to Zora's domain the other day and picked up a quest to get 20 Shock Arrows. I have enough of them but I never fought the
Lyonel
. I know the game shows you that you should just sneak around him to get the arrows, but what happens when you do defeat him and about when is it a good time to try? Ive already done the Rito divine beast and upgraded almost all of my armor once.

Also how many Shock Arrows is really recommended? Ive heard that 20 might not really be enough?

The Gerudo thread reminded me of something cool I experienced. AFAIK Gerudo are the only NPCs that
dont run away from monsters. Whenever I've watched NPCs wonder around the around and a monster shows up, they tend to start running. Hylians and Gorons alike. However one time I was in the desert talking to an NPC and a Lizalfos showed up, the Gerudo immediately took out her scimitar and took a battle pose.

Those abs arent just for show.

More story! I loved SS because of it.

20 shock arrows is more than enough to for the divine beast. Never fought that enemy you spoilers there so not sure about your other questions.

20 is a pretty good stock. You only need 6 actually. The others are in case you miss.

If you do that make sure you take a picture of him first.
Also 20 was more than enough for me.

Okay seriously, WHEN exactly does Naydra spawn at Lanayru Road - East Gate? I read that it spawned at 12 AM but it was there when I got there around 9 AM. Then I waited until 12 AM but it didn't appear, and then until 9 AM again, and still no sign of it.

Is this thing flying around randomly or what?

I saw a gif or video or something where someone was using magnesis to pick up a a large object and push over the old rusted Guardians and there was a bunch of parts underneath.
Ah, didn't realise we were talking about inactive ones. Might have to try that later.

looks like they're going to push Zelda and the Switch during the NCAA tournament

just saw that Zelda spot that aired during the superbowl

If you kill that enemy then you get a lot of arrows. Definitely at least 20, could be more.

It wasn't particularly hard to kill. Zora's domain was the first place I ended up, so I killed it with very basic weapons and a Nintendo Switch shirt on lol

The fatigue has definitely kicked in for me. 112 hours and 2 dungeons completed. I need to play something else. I haven't touched my PS4 since I got this game.

The game is just too good. At least Person 5 comes out soon.

I take breaks with Blaster Master, Fast RMX and my retro consoles. It's a fantastic game but it's too much to play continuously.

Set up a camp fire around the gate area and sit at it until Morning. Almost immediately, if you look up at Mt. Lanayru, you'll see the dragon spawn and head down towards you. Worked for me every time.

The actual ending of the game itself is a little light, yeah, but ascending
Hyrule Castle
and the music that plays during it is awesome.

Anyone encountered Kilton?

Yeah, if I remember correctly the NPCs in the North East stables give you easy clues on how to find him. But then (location spoiler)...

he moves from the skull shaped lake in the North East to a new location on the cliffs around Kakariko village. I found that new spot completely by accident while climbing/exploring for Koroks.

Thanks.

How would you get that info in the game?

I should probably talk to every NPC I encounter.

By experimenting. There's a raft in plateau in snowy area and they pretty much give you a leaf right before. This game does that a lot. It will give you the tools but it's up to you to figure it out. It's common sense really if you've used a korok leaf

Yes, yes and sameish.

No way is SS's ending weaker than that of TP. Midna breaking up the Twilight Mirror is fine but the bloated ending boss totally kills any momentum. And SS has that sweet staff roll.

Wind Waker is undisputed champion here, though.

after you initially found him he will be near every village at night

.

There's a guy who walks through dueling peaks who I saw act like that, think he was selling meat.

Ending question:

I found all the memories (with the exception of the last "hidden" memory), and the ending felt pretty abbreviated. Zelda asks Link, "Do you really remember me?" and then it goes into the credits. The post-credit sequence was literally them walking away from the castle/the spirits of the champions and the king.

Is that it? Are there other endings? If that's it, it felt incomplete to me.

There's an extra scene if you get that 13th memory, but it's not that much more satisfying.

That's it.

EDIT: Misread what you said. Sorry there's one more thing if you get the final memory.

Hi guys, wondering if anyone could help.

So, this is my first Zelda game and I absolutely adore it, so much so that I really want to dig into the rest of the games (will probably wait to see if any/all come to Switch in the next year or so) but I realise this is the first 'open world' one so how exactly do the other games play? I can't really imagine Zelda as much else having not experienced it.

All the Zelda games are open world, but this is the first one with a wide array of armor, breakable weapons you pick up from enemies and chests, the biggest world with no hand-holding and tons more open exploration, climbing, etc. It's also the most difficult especially when you start out with weak equips.

The others before are more structured, typically pointing you in certain clear directions and to dungeons where you get a critically important permanent weapon/item that you need to use for that dungeon's puzzles or boss. The games also tend to be pretty easy and increasingly hand-holding ever since OOT and Navi the fairy. The plus side is that there's more story, more/bigger/better dungeons than BOTW, and better music: BOTW is very sparse on music, highly uncharacteristic for a series where music and musical instruments are sometimes central to the story.

My opinion of some games to try out as a series newbie: A Link to the Past SNES, Link's Awakening GBA, Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask 3DS, A Link Between Worlds 3DS and Wind Waker HD on Wii U.

All the Zelda games are open world

This is incorrect.

Zelda 1 for NES is open-world, since you can enter almost any dungeon from the start and there are rarely prerequisites to progressing through the game.

Zelda II for NES is more linear, requiring you to get certain items and spells from certain dungeons and towns before you can progress, although the game opens up a bit once you reach the second continent.

A Link to the Past is pretty open, but still requires you to tackle certain dungeons "first" before you can go on to later ones.

Link's Awakening is almost wholly linear.

Ocarina of Time's child half is completely linear, but the adult half lets you complete some dungeons in different orders.

Majora's Mask is wholly linear in that you need the item from the previous dungeon to get to the next one in the scripted sequence.

Most Zelda games after Majora's Mask are completely linear, not even allowing you to reach dungeons without completing the previous one (rather than just getting the item from it). The exceptions are A Link Between Worlds and Breath of the Wild.

Fewer than half of Zelda games are open-world games.

This is my first time fully exploring the Hebra Mountains. And holy cow there's so much stuff I've missed the first time.

Shield surfing here is just so good.

Hebra Mountains is a really fun area
Gerudo Highlands on the other hand is such a joke, easily the worst zone in the game, what were they thinking

What's the best quick rich quick scheme using as common items as possible. Or if there's anywhere else I can quickly make rupees

uhh
