The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild |OT2| It's 98 All Over Again

I'm at 119 shrines and I can't figure out the last one.

I've already found the forgotten temple

I even tried cross referencing a list of shrines. Any one have any they got stuck on with one to go?

There is one Shrine that requires a
blood moon...

That's a good point. For me it's a game to last me for weeks and possibly months, but for others ours the first of a list of titles to check out.

I think it's also a testament to the game that I've not been able to put it down since the damn Switch launch, and have actually been through all the shrines (just as of last night) without finishing the game. I did infiltrate Hyrule Castle to get some of the gear,
the shrine and memory that's there, climbed alllllll the way to the top where there's a Korok-- and found the sanctum where Ganon lies, but hadn't finished up everything and I really felt like it'd be cool to face him with the traditional gear you get for finishing all the shrines
.

But yeah, since Zelda came out I've bought Horizon, Nier Automata, Mass Effect Andromeda, etc. and I'm really excited to get to them, but Zelda is just so damned amazing, it feels like a world you can just live in day to day. So while I personally drowned myself in it, I can see why others would want to move on at some point. And that stuff will be there when they come back. And they will come back.

119 Shrines, last one is the goddamn
Blood Moon
Shrine so who knows when I'll finish it. 3 full Stamina wheels, everything else into Hearts, all but two melee weapon slots, all memories recovered. After I get all 120 Shrines I'm gonna max out the prize and then head into the castle :D

I camped over and over and over and over... like probably more than 20 times, and it finally lit up. At least it actually activates before you can even see the moon.

Turns out parrying the beam of a guardian with it's legs cut off doesn't work to well. It looks like the guardian body recoils from shooting so the reflected beam hits the lower body instead of the eye, which doesn't stun the guardian. Then it would blast my ass off with the second beam.

So I got 2 quests from Kass, and now every time I see him he just wants to sing the song/story that Impa already told me. Are there more?
He'll give you a song for a shrine out in the wilderness, not next to stables.

Edit: you'll be able to hear his accordian from quite a range.

Kass should get character of the year. I don't anyone can ever have him beat with his long range accordion and his noble intentions.

It was ~8am in the game when I made that post, camped until night and it activated immediately XD

On my way to collect my priiiize

Is it not possible to simply exhaust your set of weaponry/shields due to durability and be SOL due to it having so much HP? I nope'd pretty quick out of there after I noticed I barely dented the thing.

I suppose you could bomb it to death or something.

You can beat a 5000 hp silver lynel with a few tree branches so. Charge attacks do a lot more damage.

Glad to see you and others take this approach much like myself. I felt like the time spent in this world and with its characters would have more impact and a stronger sense of closure once Ganon goes down (which I pan on doing this weekend).

I really love how the world has given me a sense of loss andd esperation, stemming from 100 years ago , and how that is still felt to the current citizens to this day whether its the King of Zoron's, dude in Goron city (
Man, my heartstrings were tugged hard as he was cheerfully waving to pops' spirit at the end there
), Koko, and especially Zelda. I feel like everything I am doing is building up to help all of these characters find peace and bring them their long overdue justice and it has just been a great sensation to carry with me as the world continues to open up new secrets. I can't think of ANY game in my 35 years of doing this that has be call a "wow" audible as much as this game has.

What a special three weeks it has been for me, personally. I needed it after being in a depressive funk for several months and I dread seeing it come to a close as I wrap up my final 11 shrines and defeat Ganon.

This game holds added sentimental value to me as it is the first game my 8 year old daughter, who generally hates videogames, has been invested in. Long drives this past week during spring break opened up a lot of discussion about what's happening in-game which led to questions about other past Zelda games.

lol, I really don't like the motion control oriented shrines and of course my 120th shrine was like the worst fucking one in the game, but I managed it pretty easily (for once). It was the one where at the end you have to
rotate the cube with the torches
on all sides.

That's awesome. I dunno if I'll ever get around to having kids but I think it would be really nice to have that kind of experience where you sorta relive things through them.

Even if all of your weapons are broken, you will always have bombs. The game never leaves you without any offensive abilities.

Hit and run on horseback with a Two-handed weapon is another tactic for taking down Guardian Stalker limbs. Pretty exciting way to do it, especially if you are wanting to save arrows.

I ain't going anywhere near a Guardian with my hard-earned
Royal Horse
. Toe-to-toe, on the ground or I'm not fighting them at all.

Started this today having finished Horizon. Not far yet just finished the first shrine and need to find the others but I can tell already that this is gonna be a huge time sink and load of fun. I was worried about the item durability but I think it's great. Usually in a game I'll stick with one weapon but here you need to shake it up. Using bows is a bit awkward. It's way too sensitive.

The thing I am liking most is how free I feel. When you leave the place that Link wakes up in pretty much any other game you would have no option but to follow the path down to the Old man but nope I climbed up and headed towards this door thing in the distance but couldn't go through because of the cold. Also I can climb trees!

Later on I lit a torch and the wind blew the flame onto the grass which travelled up towards a monster den which had explosives lying beside it and the fire blew it up! Can't wait to experiment with the world more.

One thing I can't figure out is how to cook. A lot of item descriptions say they should be cooked but when I approach the little fires in monster camps I can't do anything. I am probably missing something but I'll figure it out.

To cook you press X in the ingredients menu to start holding stuff, hold what you want to cook, then put them in the pot.

I tried holding an apple but yeah I guess I need a pot lol it would only let me place it on the ground. I'm learning!

Yeah, you do need a cooking pot to cook things. With the right ingredients you can make some truly OP stuff, don't be afraid to experiment.

Surely I'm not the only one who will, if it's raining and I come across one of the small tents, crouch inside and wait the rain out

It just feels right. The game and its nature are immersive enough to where it just feels like another part of a wilderness trek. Luckily took a pic of this last week at some point.

The shrine next to Gerudo Town has got to be one of my favorites now.

moving metal objects inside a shrine that is esseislly
A giant battery. I realiZed after about 10 minutes that any metal should work and dropped my swords and they acted as conductors and helped me through the puzzle faster

So awesome when you get the "I bet this will work" moments.

Boy oh of boy, leveled some outfits up to level three and these fairies keep getting all up in Link's business.

I can't wait to see level four!

The shelters feel so cozy in this game. Just need a campfire for maximym cozy.

I'm on a quest to find three
Leviathan
skulls, and man, I'm having a hell of a time finding the one in the Hebra region. I've spent hours looking for it and found a few shrines in the process, haha. No one tell me where it is, I'll find it eventually.

Sadly no. Though if you go to any stable you can just board them and take them out again, it doesn't matter whether they're halfway across the map.
You don't even have to board them to take them back out. Just tell'em you want your horse and they'll instantly warp it to you.

Yes, there are many.
There is a place where you can see a diary with all the locations.
. It's
where the Blood Moon Shrine, in the zone with the big mushroom-shaped stones.

Game is largely about freedom so players can choose what to do. I wanted two full heart bars, so in my head started doing some math to decide how much more I was going to put into stamina before completing my hearts. Right now I have two heart rows and two stamina circles with 8 spirit orbs still to spend, and I don't mind considering two more stamina upgrades as "bonuses."

People simply want the DLC to allow them to at least finish that second row of hearts, from what I gather.

then just reallocate.

I encountered a traveler when it rained. We both ran to the small shelter and had a small chat. Details like that made the game so charming.

Can i request some help with the following Guardian bot
in the combat shrine off the far eastern shore line. I can get the Guardian down to its last 10 or 15% when it starts going ballistic with the numerous beam shots. It's a one shot kill with my meager 7 or 8 hearts - what is the best way to interrupt or avoid the beams and finish it off without significant damage?

My minimap disappeared for some reason. I'm using normal hud mode, and I can see all other hud elements besides the map. What's happening?

You can reflect the beam with your shield by pressing A

The last Great Fairy costing so much is bloody stupid. It's not like
lvl 4
don't require enough godawful grinding as it is.
