What happens after credits? Does the game put you before the final boss? I hate that so much.

Yes, that is what happens. It reverts to the state before the last confrontation and you can roam through Hyrule and clean up all the things you missed. You do get a star next to the save state indicating that you beat the final boss though
.

Edit: Got carried away and answered a ten pages old question, it was probably answered already. Still leaving this here in case it's of use to anyone. :D

I'm curious. Do you all have a part of Hyrule that feels like home to you? Like, when you come back to it you're happy to see it again, or you feel more comfortable, or you linger a little just for the sake of it?

East Akkala Stable and Kakariko Village. When I now rerevisit the Plateau, it feels almost alien.

Scowling through this thread, I realize how much of this game I havn't even seen. I'm over 60 hours, 50 shrines and three guardian dungeons. I need to start relaxing on pro HUD and doing quests.

I havn't even found a single steppe talus rock mini boss! I thought there were supposed to be one in the Plateau but I have no found it!

*mild spoilers*

So the 'correct' route for the beasts is Zora (done) then Goron City? Reached it but didn't enter yet the "dungeon" (I guess) should I stock up again on anti-hot elixirs? Isn't there a suit to find instead of relying on elixirs like there was to go to the mountains (given by the king)?

Or should I go to a different beast first?

There is. But you won't see him (it) till you're close to him and... something happens.

Oh man, some of the dialogue in the
Korok Forest
. I just can't, it's too adorable. :')

I'd say I have several places I like returning to just because they're nice and comfortable, but I guess Hateno Village in particular because you
literally have your own home there
.

Lurelin Village. It's small and homey. I grab bananas, crabs along with fish for some Attack Up meals later on. Take the daily fish from the fishermens' fire outside and mellow out.

Man, Lynels are really unbalanced. They're harder than bosses by a long shot, and one hit you even with level 3 armor and a full row of hearts. Plus it's impossible to dodge their AOE.

All their attacks can be avoided. Try to parry the AOE splash instead of dodging.

I always go back to Kakariko to pay Pays a visit, she's fun to tease.

Two weird things just happened to me, but I thought someone might know about them here.

Firstly, when looking for the
last memory
spot to complete the quest, the blood moon appeared suddenly at about 8pm and triggered its cutscene. It was immediate, the sky didn't turn red progressively and the music didn't change like it used to do normally. Is there a reason for this, or is it a glitch? Anyone else had something similar?

Another thing right after this was when I found the spot I was looking for. The cutscene started as usual, but when Link watched his sheikah slate, he looked at a random photo which had nothing to do with the
last memory
. Is that normal?

After playing this game for nearly 100 hours I can say: it is the best gaming experience I ever had. And not just because of the game itself! Besides that it is the first time since maybe 10+ years which I talk about with friends. How they did that challenge and survived those enemies. What they saw while runnimg around and getting and giving tips of surviving in Hyrule and finding great spots of interest.
And the world amazes me every time I play the game. So much is going on in it and I am a little bit afraid of the day I saw everything and will leave Hyrule for a long time.

I tried my best to find as many Shrines as I could before breaking out a map/guide, but I'm at that point where I need to get it over with. I will never move on from this game if I don't. lol.

I had 72 when I turned to a guide. My count is now up to 92 and running...

when they hit the ground with their sword it's magic, and explodes to blow outward in all directions. The current one I'm working on is fire.
Maybe he has an elemental sword? I've never seen a Lynel do a magic attack. When they slam their weapons to the ground, they create a wave of splash damage. That splash can be parried.

The great plateu. Like to visit every now and then and get some supplies like foods or arrows. Only thing that seems to change is silver bokoblins I think

What is your defense rating on that level 3 gear? I don't think I ran into a Lynel at that point where I was getting one hit with a full row of hearts.

i have been an off and on gamer for the past 10 years, and i have never been this obsessed with a game before.

it's like nintendo aped the best open world aspects of modern games and suited them to their own interests.

breath of the wild is hands down, the best game i have ever played. never have i experienced a game that amalgamated the best of music, gameplay and atmosphere is a game before.

What's the name of that quest? Is it the one with the tale of the white bird?

No. That's another quest. This is the one that starts when a mother is worried about her child going off to practice singing alone. It is only available after you finish the Rito dungeon.

There's a lynel training video in this thread somewhere... guy walks you through how to parry everything, including the AoE.

ok maybe i'll check that out. After 100% on Dark Souls 1, 2, and 3 - this should not need a tutorial unless it is poorly implemented.

Runs by you, swings, you jump to dodge - he hits you anyway and takes all hearts.

I just shot 4 bomb arrows into his face with a 50 bow, and he didn't even stagger.

So there was a lynel in the castle. Was it weaker than the ones outside or did I only win because I got more power ups and daruk's giant sword?

The sweep must be backflipped over unless you've already got a headstart going sideways. That move has a huge horizontal hotbox, but backflipping is a breeze and triggers flurry rush. You can also parry every attack if spaced properly.

Expertise in DS won't always translate to success in BotW. Doesn't have to do with how well combat is implemented. You're playing a different game. You have to adjust.

I can't seem to stagger him often with arrows, and you can't get close or you get AOE hit.
You might need to consider a different armor set for these fights. I believe mine was at 54 when I was hunting Lynels for their guts.

Also consider using upgraded stasis in the fights

Also, taking all your hearts means you have an armor set that isn't strong defensively. Try the Soldier's set and upgrade that to the 4th level. That makes you almost invincible. A standard Lynel swipe will take anywhere from a quarter of a heart to 2 or 3 at once.

Fully upgraded is 84 defense

Switch just delivered. Going to wait until my GF goes to a work event in an hour and then fire up Zelda. OMG.

I'll have Snipperclips ready for when she gets home.

Forgot to mention: lost woods is scary as heck.

I wish miiverse had clearer images. I really liked this one I took.

Lynels in the Hyrule Castle are chumps.

That's what I figured. I had more trouble with running from one guardian and bumping into another lol.
