Did anyone else notice the little Gerudo girl farming her Watermelons under the water fountain in Gerudo Town? If you follow the waterfall up to the roofs and follow the stream, you'll find a Gerudo sitting around eating watermelons all day and throwing her leftovers down stream. Kinda gross lol

its pretty cute
side quest

Just beat the game. Was underwhelming. It's all about the journey, not the destination.

This is why I am in no hurry to finish, all reports of the ending seem to say this

My switch just went dead at the exact moment (end boss spoilers)
that I reached the golden bow Zelda gives you while riding my horse toward Ganon's final form
, and this was while plugged in and charging.

Great battery, Nintendo.

Honestly based on my feelings of the characters, structure, and story in this game I can absolutely see how this would be the case.

I think the further away we get from the release the more people will criticize BotW for this. I recognize it's hard when most people prioritize gameplay in Zelda and this game knocks it out in that department.

Does any vendor sell an ancient core? I just need 1 and I killed 30+ guardians :(

Haven't seen him my self but saw someone mention that there is a guy...lol, don't remember much beyond that but should come up in Google.

I think it was pretty limited stock. Hope I'm remembering right. Apologies if I'm wrong.

You have to kill the octopus guardians. Not all guardians drop them, like the stationary decayed guardians don't drop them. They can also drop in a major test of strength. 30 with not one dropping is very unlucky. They usually drop every 1-3 octopus guardians that I kill.

If you go into hyrule field and kill a few octopus guardians then you should easily get a few cores.

The photo album shows what different enemies can drop.

I never heard of anyone selling ancient cores. But there are a few of them in chest rewards in a few specific shrines.

Are you using a 3rd party charging cable that doesn't supply the full 2.6A to the Switch?

116 shrines, I'm disappointed I could not find them all in my first try, I was thinking that maybe I did explore every inch to find those fuckers and wouldn't have to wander the map looking for the remaining 4.

I read somewhere that flying guardians have a higher drop rate so I went to kill them and got it on my first kill.

Guys, without spoiling much, or anything if possible, should I not buy armor on sale? I ask because if the armor is available out there to find in the world I'd rather do that instead of spending my hard earned rupees. I am also incredibly poor. For instance I found
Hylian Trousers
somewhere, but I other than that I've never found any other armor that's also on sale.

I'm nearing the end and no, you cannot find armor that are sold in shops out in the wild, except for that one instance where you potentially get that piece during the tutorial. There is one shop that sells stuff you find out in the wild, but when you come across it, it'll be obvious that it's just meant for those who sold those particular armors.

I actually did not know you can find that piece that you mentioned out in the wild. Where'd you find it?

Edit: @below Ah, didn't know that either.

the fire armor you can get the chest for free by
collecting 10 fire lizards.

The armor you need to enter
gerudo city
gives heat resistance but it's
600
rupees.

Also the shirt that has mild cold resistance in the tutorial

The rest I paid for myself.

In a chest right at the start,
in between the Shrine of Ressurection and The Temple of Time
or thereabouts. I got it really early.

I got there yesterday and it's truly amazing

Urbosa is by far the best Champion of the lot too. I love the desert.

Death Mountain was also brillianr IMO.

Seeing the kids in the game just run around and have such a vibrant personality is very heart-warming.
Yup, all the kids are adorable, I'm watching a Japanese play through the game and she makes the most hnnnnnnnnnngdorable-mischevious voice for them.

I saw a guy pretty early on running between towns in
East necluda. Niave me at the time didnt understand that anceint parents were actually good for anything yet... Ugh. So I didn't not the place or time, haven't found him again.

To be fair I could have swore he said that the guy in Alaska traded in parts so I thought I'd be able to buy parts there... Not fucking
have to use them.

Dunno if he's got cores or not but he's got parts.

Honestly I never use
Ancient Arrows
. They are too expensive and too OP and you don't get any loot after you use them anyway.
Really? I use them to
easily hunt guardians. You get loot from them without having to fight them. In fact I still have no idea how you're supposed to fight them without them.

Finally beat the game. Phenomenal experience; something i have not felt so strongly about since playing the first Dark Souls about 5 years back.

I am glad that Nintendo finally learned to give the players freedom and less hand-holding. They now have a superb template for future Zelda games, and I cannot wait to see what they do next (I hope for a mix between BOTW and the structure of previous 3D Zeldas; also, a nice HD game similar in style to ALTTP/ALBW/the other 2D games).

Listening to Revali's theme, awesome stuff...
Favorite section of the game main quest imo. Flying to enter into Vah Medoh was awesome...

EDIT: Now that I think about it most of my favorite music in the game are Rito related.

Revali's theme.
Kass' theme
Rito Village

What are your fav weapon types?

I really love sword and shield, but spears are a close second. Establishing and maintaining reach vs mobile enemies feels really good in this combat system to me. I just like shields for parries a LOT.

Heavy weapons are probably what I should be using more than I do since each hit does more damage. Less hits = less durability damage, and when you draw a lot of flurry rushes, those hits stack up quickly with smaller swords and spears. After I started getting more flurry rushes, I noticed my spears in particular start seeming reeeeeally brittle due to their high rate of attack.

Unless I am imagining all this and it's not a per-hit but per-damage-done calculation in regard to durability. Anyone looked into this? It feels per-hit to me, but I am not overly observant when freaking out over a game.

My favorite weapon types are boomerangs, specifically
the giant boomerang
. Not because they're particularly good, but just because they're fun. It's really satisfying to mow down a bunch of enemies with a throw and then catch it on the way back.

In terms of actual utility, usually I like heavy weapons against the harder enemies. With harder enemies, my usual strategy is to get an opening in some way (with parry, dodge, head shot, etc.), and then go in with my charge attack. Because I wait for an opening, the fact that the heavy weapon is slow doesn't matter.

For weaker enemies, I don't have the patience to wait for an opening, so usually I just poke them with spears.

I've found one vendor that sells an ancient core. It's
the traveling merchant who sometimes comes to Hateno and sells ancient parts. He'll sell 1 ancient core when it's raining.
Otherwise, be sure to fight moving guardians. Stationary ones don't drop cores.

Okay, I've finally faced a shrine that's kicking my brain down. It's the one in the
Los woods about looking to the stars and constellations

I've literally sat there looking like an expert in cracking code and nothing.

This one took me the longest until I was like OH GODDAMMIT DUH, around twenty minutes later.

60 hours in, and I just made my first approach towards Death Mountain and the surrounding regions, including
Akkala Lake.
And outside of the tower and maybe 2 shrines, I still haven't done anything of note in the desert yet. Nor have I followed any story line towards a Divine Beast or dungeon. And I still have a few more towers to hit, along with their respective regions. It's amazing how much I have left untouched after 60 hours. This approach has absolutely kept the wonder and the spirit of the game alive after all this time.

PREACH. This has the best implementation of a boomerang in any game that I can think of. They are so much fun to use, especially the
Giant Boomerang
like you said.

Yeah this game seriously has the best kids. All the NPCs in general are amazing though.
The kids in this game are ADORBS. l like the Hatano kids. The one that shows you the demon statue is so cute!

I'm stuck on the Gerudo Town shrine. Have no clue. Makes me wish I had a third type of bomb lol

Haha yeah I've counted.

I've counted the balls, the holes, the poles, the yellow dots, moved my camera where it literally looks down at me from above... I'll try again tomorrow with a fresh mind.
Think about the name of the trial some more

vvv don't look at the spoiler for this post until you're ready to give up
The
constellation
shrine?
Haha yeah I overthought that one. It was a face palm moment when I figured it out.

The hardest shrine for me so far is the golf one? It's one near a stable close to the lost woods area. Figuring out that angle and how much to hit it in stasis is just ugh. I had to skip it.

I think the best hint I can give is that it's much simpler than you think.

Just stand on the platform in front of the sign that gives you the hint and look around. Just do a couple of slow 360's and take note of everything you see. Then put it all together. It's one of those puzzles that's stupid easy once you figure out what it's asking of you.

Hit it
dead straight, exactly 5 times
with an iron hammer. Any more than that and the ball will go flying off the platform you need it to land on.

I have no clue how to get the chest though,
6
hits will get you to the platform but with too much force. I think it needs to be ricocheted off of a pillar or something.

I Used one of those. I threw it against a group of Lizalfos, one of the fuckers grabbed it and threw it back to me. +5 hearts damage, "game over".

Never again.

Yeah, I was stuck on that one for a while. For the longest time I thought I was supposed to
somehow count the number of stars in each row's constellation and somehow assign a ball to a put according to the number...
I was totally off track, haha.

I'm sorry you had that experience, but that's kind of awesome actually :O

Try it against a hinox. Throw the boomerang to hit it in the eye. The hinox gets stunned and the boomerang falls right in front of you. Then pick up the boomerang and use your spinning charge attack while it's stunned.

Just had two "da fuk?" moments in a row.

1) After 120 hours I just found a first-person bow for the first time.

2) Immediately after I found said bow I got ambushed by TWO Yiga clan goons at the same time. That has literally never happened to me before.
