But this was suppose to be the new Rare.
Have you ever played N64 Rare games? They always had rough framerate
But this was suppose to be the new Rare.
LKD and Sterling got to form their impressions by playing the game and giving some vague feedback. Let's wait for more reviews. I agree with a lot of you: they should've kept it to themselves, and I can imagine Play Tonic aren't going to be very happy with them.
Still shitty of him to jump ahead and shout "cancel preorders!!" despite not being able to articulate why. If the only info you can give is vague and noncommittal, keep the feedback vague and noncommittal.
Sure Playtonic isn't going to be happy with this but this idea they should keep this to themselves is silly.
Previews are typically overflowing with praise so it becomes noteworthy when a paid commercial gives a small warning there exist issues. While Sterling and LKD aren't authorized to preview what they are doing is functionally the same. People who preorder deserve to get some type of warning and that's all they are doing.
Hm, thanks. I'm surprised by that. But, are there any real "repercussions" to breaking embargo at all when you're dealing with a non-AAA publisher? Is the worst that happens if you break embargo that this specific publisher and developer won't send Jim/Laura games anymore?
In my eyes that's kind of like saying Final Fantasy X will save JRPGs when my ideal is more Dragon Quest VIII. Sure it's fun and a good game, but I'd really rather have something more open. It's ok. Crash Bandicoot will save the genre in June!
Game has suffered stuttering issues in everything they showed. Why would anyone be surprised that it is still an issue?
A person's entire body of work and career as a reviewer is irrelevant cause he gave BotW a 7?
Jim recently said he played a game that he's giving no score because he couldn't bear to finish it, the scoreless review hasn't come out yet. Let the speculation commence!
He's not wrongHe also gave Deadly Premonition a perfect score.

They aren't saying don't buy the game. They are saying don't buy the game without getting impressions from reviews first because it will be polarizing.
What do you get for preordering this game? Bonus content or discount?
Fucking Jim.
I have an issue when clickbait shit like this detracts attention from the game and instead draws focus on something and someone else, as was done here.
Wrong move and disrespectful.
sounds like unity has built a reputation around people not knowing how to use it
That's one way a AAA publisher can punish, blacklist the critic from receiving any further games' review codes. Jim has that with Ubisoft, I think.

Unless developers do a hard lock on resolution and graphicalbfidelity instead of improving it gen to gen, frame rate will always be a variable.Framerate problems in 2017 break my heart.
ITT: A bunch of people who have never developed a game in any engine blaming Unity for poorly optimized games.
Have you ever played N64 Rare games? They always had rough framerate
Because it wasn't finished when we saw it? Thought that was obvious.
Isn't there an NDA signed or something?
This just feels like a cry for attention if anything.
Wonder how the PC version fairs since it's the only one handled by Playtonic.
He's been doing it for a long time and he's clearly making a career out of it at this point. I've never liked him for exactly this reason.
Top tier platforming right there and I bet it will sell like hotcakes <3
But Rare doesn't seem to have those problems with Xbox One and Xbox 360 though.
Crash Bandicoot isn't a platformer. It has more in common with today's autorunners.
Look, it's pretty well known in development circles that Unity has inherent problems with performance and can be hard to deal with. This is no secret. I just don't understand why anyone uses it anymore.
Meanwhile it is perfectly fine to praise any game that no one else has verified in a "noncommital" way, which lots of people do all the time including both Jim and Laura, and people eat it up here - - that's cool of course
How about the fact the worlds look really empty? :/

Lol, crash is a platform game. That's like saying mario 3 is a autorunner
Fucking Jim.

Didn't they want to use Unity engine at first because Wii U didn't support Unreal Engine 4? So they had to use Unity.... But now Wii U version dropped in favour of Switch version which supports Unreal Engine 4 welp maybe too lateWhy am I not surprised? UNITY ENGINE for the fail. Again, again, over again, again, again.
Can't stand it. Hate it. It's a shit engine with clear performance issues.
Can we get this re-made in Unreal Engine 4 and have the definitive version?
