For buying gear from the ancient lab - are there collectibles I should avoid spending until I have enough for the armour? I dont know how mch overlap there is between arrows/weapons/armour but I don't have that many ingredients so don't want to waste them if I'll need them later

Cooking is so slow.. alomost no saving pressin X to skip the dancing food, and then the having to go back to your inventory every time. Often I'll spend nearly all day just cooking.

I'm up to 105 shrines. I feel like I've explored most of the world. I've finished all the shrine quests I've discovered. It's getting difficult to hold off on looking at a guide.

Potentially hidden shrine spoilers:

The orb at Shikh and the socket outside kakariko are driving me nuts.
Not really a spoiler:
You need to finish some normal side quests first.

So check it, I've not done much stort. Talked to Impact and the Zora King. That's about it. However I've been running strong finding shrines and other cool things. That said I've been able to locate 11 memories just from looking at the land markers I'm the picture. Except the 12th one. All it does are trees. So I have one simple question. Is this memory in the Hyrule Forest/lost woods? Just a yes or no is all I'm looking for. Don't want the exact location. Thanks.

All of it?

sorry

From testing it out a bit it looks like docked mode runs similar to how handheld mode ran before, which is a big improvement. Really happy with this patch and it shows Nintendo's willingness to address frame rate issues. Hopefully there's more coming that will make the game a perfect locked 30fps.

No.

So far my only complaint with this game (other than the pre-patch performance) is that there aren't a lot of difficult enemies once you have good armor and weapons. On one hand I like that it feels as though your work is paying off (unlike games where enemies scale with you), but on the other it would be nice if there were more mini-boss style enemies (like Hynoxes, etc) that weren't piss easy. I'm not even close to 100% and I haven't even finished the main story yet, but most enemies are either a total joke or just straight up annoying. Some bokoblins just started popping up that do barely any damage and yet they have a shit ton of health, so they're basically just meatbags that will break a couple of your weapons as you wail on them.

Anyone try the update? There's supposedly some frame rate fixes.

Framerate is much more stable, especially in docked mode. There are still drops, but they're way less frequent. Still pretty bad in Korok forest though... Although in portable mode it's much better there.

That was the only one I had to use a guide for. :(

Hoo boy. I'm playing this on off-TV mode (Wii U) for the first time while I don't have access to my TV, and I've gotta say, even knowing that the Switch's screen is much higher quality, I can't imagine using portable mode for this game very frequently. Everything's so...tiny.

Feel the same way. I played for five minutes undocked and hated it. This game does not belong on a tiny screen.

I dont know if it has already been mentioned but a now banned member was quick to correct threads made saying that Zelda had most perfect scores on metacritic than any other game by pointing out that GTA IV had 57 if you count the unique reviews between X360 and PS3, well I just noticed that BOTW has 60 perfect scores on Metacritic

So, either I'm having some trouble with it, or the Sheikah sensor is kind of useless. I mean, it alerts me to shrines well enough, but the mention you can use it to find items, and it seems to be pretty poor for that. Like, my assumption was that beeping increased in proximity to the thing I set it to track. However, I can't find things using that assumption. I'll be getting the fastest beep rate you can get with the object nowhere to be seen. Or I can be looking right at an example of what I want and get no beeping. It seems like it's good for telling you if you're vaguely nearish to something, but useless when it comes to pinpointing.

Am I just dumb?

The beep rate indicates that you are going in the correct direction, not the proximity of the item.

Man I finally got to playing this game after being out of the country for two weeks and I think I'm in the camp that the game just fucking sucks. The controls are way too complicated. There's absolutely no direction. Most of the game is spent wandering around hoping you stumble across something that might help you. And I'm constantly cycling through shitty weapons and bullshit pickups.

I'm on the elephant dungeon and what the fuck is this. Nothing in this is really all that intuitive and the dungeon boss is cheap as hell. Why am I being killed in one hit?

This is coming from someone who has beat every Zelda but the DS titles.

Seriously this game pisses me the fuck off.

It beeps when you are moving in the direction of the object you're sensing. A stronger signal doesn't necessarily mean you are closer, but that you are moving more directly towards the object. If you stop moving, it stops beeping.

It's a directional sensor. The more straight you are running through the shrine, the stronger the signal is.

Whoever designed this gyro bullshit needs to be fired. Why does the axis on which I'm rotating seem to shift around? I shouldn't have to spend 20 minutes fighting the controls to solve a fucking uninspired labyrinth puzzle. Stop putting this garbage in your games to justify your gimmicky bullshit controllers.

Hmmm....so I am just dumb. Thanks for the help!

My favorite moments so far have been the memories.
They're one of my least favorite things about the game. The concept is great, telling the story by making the player find the places in photographs and experience flashbacks to fill in Link's memory. Just a great idea that fits the game perfectly. But all of the flashbacks I've found so far are just Zelda whining with bad voice acting and sometimes awkward moments because of Link's muteness, so...

I think it centers to how you are holding the controller when you activate the control unit.

the
mirro shaz
shrine optional chest part is annoying as hell

the solution is:
5 hits with the hammer and 1 hit with a normal sword
, fuck this shrine

Once you "get" the motion controls I don't see how they are problematic. I've greatly enjoyed using it and have had no issues whatsoever, even on the controversial motion based shrines.

That's the first thing I tried. The problem is it's shifting while I'm still in the puzzle, after a minute or two it just becomes trial and error trying to figure out which way it's going to tilt when I move the joycon.

I hit the 40 hour mark last night. I have 1
divine beast
and something like 40 shrines and 60 seeds. I have only opened 4 areas on the map including the great plateau (with some explorations in other areas on the edges of the areas I have opened).

I love this game its amazing but man its BIG and I feel the need to try to explore every nook of every area that I open for shrines and seeds. At this rate I am looking at 200 hours :/

So it is Kilton? How do you get him to tell you this?

Yes. He doesn't say anything about beating all the bosses though.

I think he does once
you´ve bought enough stuff from him. It triggered for me once I had bought all masks, the armor and the horse armor.
.

Ive hit that dredded point where I've found the majority of shrines (108 I believe) and have no more shrine quests, so Ive got to keep exploring (and Ive got so many hours of just exploring under my belt yet still somehow finding little things I somehow missed) or missed Shrine quest activations.

Done all Divine Beasts and have I believe ever Armour poece in the game but man where to even begin with these laat shrines.

I recommending looking around your map on full zoom and looking for areas which have no shrines in the nearby vicinity and look like they might have something around them. Especially named areas. Found a lot just doing this.

Reeeeally. At this point, I don't have a single Kakariko sidequest left. :s

I thought it might be the memories, but that did nothing. Occassionally, Shikh's relative will hang out at the orb and suggest that I'm the guy to get it, but nothing more than that's come of it.

Maybe I'll do another once over of the town.

I got it by moving the ball to the side (out of the pedestal) and hit it at a slightly odd angle to get it after breaking my first hammer but before losing the second one.

Finally found my fourth fairy fountain, got the fully upgraded house, and found a couple more shrines and korok seeds. Think I'm almost done with the game not completion-wise, but because I'm not really feeling the hunt for shrines anymore.

Another small clue:
there's a book in Impa's room that details every Kakariko quest.

I'm pretty sure I know which one you're missing, because it took me a while too.

i think zelda is fine and i really prefer this take over the more girlish japanese voice based on what i've heard. my issue with the flashback scenes is that, while a reward for exploration, they don't do anything interesting. they're just cutscenes. it would be neat if nintendo could have found a way for the memories to be a little more interactive. walking into memories and having cutscenes play out around the player, or requiring the player to exist within those areas would have been neat.

Lynel question:
Does it get explained anywhere why they disappear with a hit from an ancient arrow?
You don't have to tell me why if you know, but I wouldn't mind knowing where I can get the info.

Which brings me to a probably silly question: is it possible to watch again the memories you've unlocked? I tried selecting one but it doesn't do anything.

Yes, all of them. Where are you trying to play them? They're not accessible from the photos. There's a page for them on the quest tab.

Yes. The memories you unlocked (including the other champions' scenes) are available at the Quest menu.

That would have been pretty cool.

I thought ancient arrows kill anything, except guardians, in one hit?
