Finally found the elusive Leviathan. It was REALLY satisfying when I finally found it. Also made it to the Allaka lab. Beat a Stalnox on the way there. That was really annoying because EVERY SINGLE TIME I got there to fight it, there was a thunderstorm. I dunno if it's scripted or if the weather system is just broken, but it's super annoying. Also got a new horse with really good stats. Found the Spring of Power. Cleared the Island Labyrinth and got the last piece of the Barbarian Armor set.

Things are looking up!

Labyrinth - cleared or just did the shrine? It's doing my head in a little bit because I did the shrine and got some chests in the maze but is there more to find..?

Also : A to parry? Maybe that's why I'm not doing so well, I thought it was just pressing the normal shield button with good timing! I should have paid more attention in the training shrine :p

I... Might need you to tell me where this is.

There is this
island with the name of a famous NPC character from the Zelda series. Visit that island and all the adjacent island, and all their different shelves. Don't forget the smaller islands. Bring at least one sledgehammer (don't use bombs, since the gems will fall in the water).
Some of it will of course be rock salt and flint, but there should be enough rubies and stuff there as well.

Finished it again, full memories ending seems pretty cool, makes me think the DLC might be post-ganon defeat.

As much as I love the game, I still wish there were more proper bosses and dungeons. Bosses felt exceptionally thin, and while the beasts were quite cool, only 4 dungeons isn't enough. I like the shrines, but I also don't think they are a dungeon substitute.

I can't decide if I'm relieved or sad that beedle doesn't say 'oh! thank youuuu' when you buy something. I don't know how but it's become a bit of a catchphrase in our house.

Finally finished the 4th dungeon now onto Hyrule Castle to poke around, get the
Hylian
shield and then fully upgrade my
Hero of Time
suit.

Want to max out my hearts though, only 6 more to go! :D

For people who have beaten the game:

What changes from a gameplay perspective once you beat Ganon? Is the full game still accessible? Does it just load a save outside of Hyrule Castle as if nothing has happened? Does it act as if you actually did beat the game but leave the world open? Do you unlock any new options?

I'm trying to decide when I should stop wandering and face Ganon. Only looking to know what changes gameplay-wise.

WTF, 70 hours into the game, all dungeons beaten, almost 100 shrines... and I just found Lakeside Stable.

Posts like this make me feel so inefficient. I'm over 70 hours in with only 2 dungeons and significantly fewer Shrines than you.

l've played the game for almost a month and l'm still not tired of bumping into him to make him fall on his ass.

I would bang a hot farmer!
Outskirts stable...? Lol

(My friend tells me there are many stables easily missed without a guide so I'm not surprised I don't have them all visited.) Thanks for the tip!
They're only easily missed if you don't take roads. A lot of people just run any which way but staying to the roads will lead you to a lot of places and NPCs. Don't underestimate how important roads are. Jump on a horse and follow the roads. Roads!

All week I've been super tempted to buy the Wolf Link amiibo off resellers on Amazon. I've actually looked up the amiibo and thought "well, $35 bucks for an amiibo isn't that bad..." The only reason I've been able to resist is because while the Wolf Link model is cool, it's not particularly cute and it just isn't a dog, it's a wolf. If future DLC adds the ability to tame dogs and have them as companions, I'd dip for the expansion DLC right now. I need Link with a hunting dog at his side in this game.

So about the farming of Falling Stars: what are you guys doing exactly?
I'm at the top of twin peak mountain at full moon and waiting the entire night, but what about the times when there is no star at sight for the entire night?
Do you guys just reload your file (I usually save at the beginning of the night) or do you actually restart the game/conosle?

I'm just wandering if this would make any difference.

yesterday the game showed me a bit of its tricks...by going up and down a little hill i was able to start and cancel at will a little pre-scripted scene where 2 bokoblins on horses attacked two boars...going up the hill the bokoblins would appear and start running towards the boars, going down they would all disappear and going back up will make them appear again at the starting position of the event like nothing happened
it stopped working when they bokoblins got too much near me.

Gets hit by guardian on death mountain, rolls down entire mountain, saved only by fairy. Climb all the way up, get hit again, fall down mountain exactly the same, die. Respawns me a mile away

Sigh

My adventures in the desert wielded me a fuckload of shields. Also, two dead
giant sandseals
.

I cheesed them fam, I cheesed them hard. I
stood on a hill or a structure, lured them with bombs and then triple bomb-arrowed them to death...

Not even ashamed of it :3

Ok. So it's the bow that's doing it. Weird.

Has this happened to anyone else, when I used a fire bomb arrow on an enemy, when it made impact my game froze for like 3 seconds . This happened a few times when tried it again.

Was it a Moblin? Their ragdoll physics seem to do that.

Should I be selling gears, screws, etc?

Keep quite a few, you'll need them later. Also, never sell monster parts (including these) as is, cook four of them with a bug and sell the resulting elixir: this multiplies their combined selling price by a whopping 2.8.

I finished the game last night. It's early and I need some time for everything to sink in. I still have some things to finish up and will try a playthrough on Hard Mode when it releases, but I think it is safe to say that it is now my favorite game of all time. The crazy thing is there is still some room for improvement.

It's a crazy feeling right? That something can be the best thing ever, and yet also the basic foundation for years of iteration and improvement to come.

Breath of the Wild is truly the beginning of a new era in video games, just as Ocarina of Time was almost 20 years ago.

For all the brilliance on show in this game, i still find myself pining for the open seas of WW. I wonder if they'll ever return to the concept or at least expand the world to incorporate sailing and a navigable sea in future games.

That being said, i think this is safely my favourite Zelda.

What the fuck. I paid 15$ for mine off local Amazon (Spain). Don't pay 35$, man, wait for it to be available again or import it off Europe.

For the record I have it, and have never used it outside trying it once or twice. The problem is that it's either "stay in a spot unmoving" or "follow me and murder everything in sight", so it's not that useful unless you're willing to aggro everything around you and give up stealth forever.

By the way, didn't they originally say it would not add anything unique to the game besides the Wolf Link model, and that you would be able to have regular wolves as companions? What happened to that?

I refuse to believe anyone has suffered through collecting 60 gears

I had well over 100 before I even bought the armor set, it was only the rupee cost that was stopping me. Hell, I sold several gears for rupees (via cooking elixirs). The large guardians are easily killed if you get the drop on them and cut off their legs, and drop gears like there's no tomorrow.

If I had to create an band album cover from this world, this would be my shot:

It's a shame that they went to the trouble of modeling a variant of Link with his hair down for the Guardian helm and didn't provide a method to use it on its own, or as part of a more unobtrusive accessory. I like the rest of the set, but that helmet...

Can somebody give me a hint on what o should do with the korok puzzles involving the lines of trees?

I tried placing an apple on the ground, lighting fires, throwing arrows...

So is there any reason to keep the
spring-loaded hammer
? And is there any way for me to easily find a replacement if I toss it and want it again later?

Yeah, I was glad I decided to help out the desert folk before traveling to Akkala.

I doubt it. I expect the DLC to be added unobtrusively to the game (i.e. a new area or island) in such a way that players who start the game from the start including the DLC will hardly notice what's been added.

Credits rolled. A marvelous experience. Took around 80 hours. There is multiple endings?

Edit. Nvm. All memories adds another scene which I got.

How many hours?
About 90 hours with all shrines complete, all the memories found, and only 61 seeds. Will probably come back to it every once in a while to fully upgrade my favorite armor sets before the DLC comes out.

In the meantime I have Nier Automata route B to E to get through and then Persona 5.

How can I see how many hours I've put into Zelda on Switch? Aside from activity on Switch (since I just got it and it's not showing me actual hours)
