but I want to jack the difficulty level up before my first playthrough and have encounters designed around that

of course, I still enjoy going in with a clean slate more than starting on the presumed-intended difficulty, so it isn't a huge issue, but having difficulties designed around clean slates would probably be more fun for me.

clean-slate DMD playthroughs of DMC3/4 are pretty fun, tbh, and I'm glad that's available as an option (but isn't mandatory)

the overall beefed-up exp/orb/proud soul gain on that difficulty lets you power yourself up relatively fast, and the few recovery items scattered through the world actually matter a lot on such a playthrough

No that image is from the first game and they're red accents darkened which is the first games primary color. Can we move past the 2 talk already?

Why? I personally find it rather interesting that this teaser (and possible port) is happening not so long after Nintendo launches a Wii U successor.

We'd all like that in theory but the reality of game budgets make that impossible. New Game+ with higher difficulty, new enemies with new attack patterns and new weapons and mechanics are a great way to add meaningful content to these games without increasing development costs much.

Edit: Sorry, was talking more about the premise of not having NG+ with new difficulties but rather baking it all into one playthrough. I too love the clean-slate DMD option.

Tell us how you really feel about Bayonetta.

About the games?

I thought they were okay, but I still prefer Ninja Gaiden for my action game needs. I usually HATE "cinematic" games, but Bayo 1 does it well with its extreme Japanese-ness. Bayo 2 speeds things up significantly compared to Bayo 1 and it is much more focused on gameplay rather than presentation, if that makes sense.

I def liked the angel-focus as enemies in Bayo 1. Bayo 2 begins like you're going to fight mostly demons then the story shifts back into that eyes nonsense.

They are games that are similar, but still feel vastly different. It's weird.

I would like a DMC4-esque mode where they go "these guys have PCs let's put a gorillion enemies on screen at once" type thingie

Gotta be honest, personally I would be pretty disappointed if it was just a PC port of Bayonetta 1. I either want Bayonetta 2 on the Switch or an entirely new Bayonetta game.

I'd be prepared to be disappointed. It's not even guaranteed to be a port of PC Bayo 1.

It's not guaranteed but what else could it possibly be? I realize that a PC port of Bayonetta 1 is the most likely scenario, I just think it's kind of a situation where most have already played it and I'm sick of old ports of games no matter how good they are.

I don't know, but I'm prepared for the worst.

I'd be down with a PS4 version. Hope NieR: Automata was a resounding success for Platinum Games.

They actually want people to buy this. not to think about it, just to buy it. Its been out on so many different systems for so many years and its finally coming to pc. and they want impulse buy price range for all those nostalgics, and also those who have been waiting but never had a chance to play it. so its going to be 19.99 or there abouts.

If Nintendo or any other platform was involved in any way I don't think they would reveal it exclusively via Steam.

The link for the countdown was hidden in the Steam achivements images for the April Fools 8-bit Bayonetta release on Steam.
Why would this be anything other than Bayonetta for Steam?

Because Bayonetta for PC was not possible.

And when Bayonetta por PC is possible, Bayonetta is not a big deal without Bayonetta 2 because Bayonetta 2 for PC is not possible.

And when Bayonetta 2 will be fully playable using CEMU, Bayonetta 2 will not be a big deal not being playable in a portable.

I'd buy a third copy of Bayonetta for PC. I'd love to have them mobile on Switch though, but at least with PC I don't have to boot the WiiU up.
