Yeah, its dumb as fuck but:
a) Its the church, they have a proclivity for being dumb, reactionary and oversensitive.
b) May just sees every event as votes and thinks if she jumps on this and defends 'British Values™' the Mail and Sun will like her.
Also 'What the Hell is going on in the UK?' as a response to this is almost as hyperbolic as the church and May.
I do love how the church could have avoided this by just spending two minutes look at all Cadbury's Easter advertising and go 'oh yeah, Easter is plastered fucking everywhere. Oops.' I mean, the link to the page is even 'easter.cadburys.co.uk.' Perfect.

Britain would probably respond accordingly. Possible ban on flights from Spain, ban on imports possibly a ban on Spanish citizens entering the UK and Gibraltar. Military action would only be considered should Spain occupy British territory, which it won't because they are a sensible decent country and NATO allies.

Spain wont attack Gibraltar, its the UK tabloids and politicians who are sable rattling. Spain has a better option with just vetoing anything that happens in regards to Gibraltar. a far better and devastating weapon than some puny warship that the UK can can sail there.

the thing I have hated more than anything since moving to the UK (really the only thing I hate) is the UK keyboard I have at work, having grown used to US keyboards being standard in Australia.
That and the car indicators on UK cars using a set up that's perfect for Left Hand Drive cars (indicator on the left side of the steering column). Having to take your hand off the gear lever to indicate is silly. And UK cars used to have it set up like cars from Asia still do (indicators on the right side of the steering column), yet the colour of the passport seems more important for some odd reason.

NY wants a female leader so they'll join the EU. Or they are true idiots and they aren't realizing they are admitting project fear was true, as they'll lose Euro business to EU and non-Euro business to NY.
I'm not surprised by this at all. London knew about this. They were warned about this before the referendum, not after, and this talk about it drifting to NY is rubbish. It's explicitly stated in EU regulations that euro clearing has to be on EU soil, hence why it was in London all this time and not in NY.
