Nintendo Direct on April 12 (3PM PT, Switch/3DS, mainly Splarms)

Yo-kai Watch 2: Psychic Specters wasn't in the European stream at all.
Level-5 sure are drawing out the western releases of Yo-Kai Watch games.
If they keep up this pace we won't get the third version of YW 3 here in Europe for three years!
And that's if the series survives long enough in the west to get to that point and if they even see a point to releasing a 3ds game at that point.

It was a good Direct in my opinion. ARMS is launching later than I was expecting and Splatoon 2 earlier.

Unfortunately this means I don't really have what to play too much on Switch until mid-June and that's a pity.

Well that was a crap ton of stuff. Not a bad turnout, especially with how close E3 is.

Happy that a update for Ever Oasis came around, and that it is coming in June. Shall look out for possible stuff about it at E3.

I glad 3DS is going to keep on rocking for least another year. Of course Nintendo is going to keep at it some more with this still money making system. Beside, much of the stuff shown are either games that been announced already or it is a overseas release. Any new game would likely be on the smaller scale.

really feel like they missed an opportunity to get Arms out in May to soften the Splatoon 2 July release. I think the combo of both of those being a month later then generally expected is pretty disappointing. Nothing else from this direct was really interesting to me, but Payday 2 on a portable seems like a good idea.

Pretty cool direct. I love the addition of a coop mode to Splatoon 2; I always get frustrated with competitive only.

Shadows of Valentia looking pretty boss, too.

Give me a break lol. Minecraft is cool to have on Switch, sure, but it's not anything to get excited about unless you're crazy about Minecraft already.

So pretty much most of the younger kids that play video games nowadays?

Having Minecraft and Mario on one tablet is going to be a huge advantage for Nintendo.

Is the Nintendo stuff being in Minecraft old news or something? Was there another version of that on another Nintendo platform? I thought it seemed like a brilliant move when I saw it but I don't see many talking about it.

Have people played Disgaea 5 on other things? Worth it?

I've not tried the series but as a FE fan it looks possibly up my alley?
if you value your time don't get it i might be the deepest rpg you have ever played..
Grinding till lvl 9999

Payday 2 came shit out of nowhere. Also, cool to see Splatoon getting a vs AI hoard mode.

Payday 2 will be key. If that games sells really well, more ports will be coming. It will show if more than just Nintendo fans are interested in this powerful handheld.

People acting all disappointed that there was no web browser or Netflix info

If those are your console killer apps you might want to rethink things

Nice, was starting to give up hope on MH Stories. Doesn't seem to have been talked about much at all after its Japanese release.

I swear that you guys expect random pipe dream announcements every single direct. Yeah, they're really going to talk about big new games a month and a half away from E3. Y'all go looking to be disappointed by these directs.

Oh Minecraft? The game that's been out for ages and many people don't give a damn about because it's already available on most platforms, including toasters?

Give me a break lol. Minecraft is cool to have on Switch, sure, but it's not anything to get excited about unless you're crazy about Minecraft already.

Minecraft getting 2-player that you can take anywhere is a big deal for certain age groups.

I really enjoyed that. Lots of cool stuff. Love the new format.

Some of you guys never cease to amaze. There are pages and pages in this thread pointing out that they are literally telling you what is going to be in this direct and to keep your hype in check and still people are losing their minds.

So no big title for May?

MK8 in April, Arms in June and Splatoon in July. Also beyond that we only know of Mario Odyssey and Xenoblade 2 for 2017. Hoping they have some stuff held back for E3, like Retro's new game. Either way that's a pretty decent launch year, especially if Xenoblade 2 is a worldwide release.

That multiplayer Kirby game grinds my gears...

I really hope Air Ride 2 is a thing on the Switch because goddamnit, that game would be so perfect for a single joycon! I cannot stress this enough! It uses one button and an analog stick!

Not bad, I was expecting just 3DS stuff and Arms and Splatoon 2 info.

I need to say that Payday 2 surprised me. The same goes for the Fate/Stay Night game showed.

One thing I liked was the Neo Geo games, Garou, KOF 99 and Samurai Shodown 4 are great addition.

Still ARMS does not appeal to me, and Splatoon 2 be released on July 21st was kind of disappointing.

What's the difference between two copies of Yokai Watch 2 available now and the new version? Do I need all three to get the full experience?

Because they even fucked up that part by having disappointing release dates for those games.

The only disappointing date is ARMS which should've been a May title but I can overlook it since it's not too far off and they get the one-two combination of having Splatoon 2 follow the month after, which is a date that positively surprised me since I expected them to push the summer release all the way back til the end of August. Splatoon 2 being a July game is going to smoke the Japanese market during summer.

Perfect timing for Stardew Valley. When's that coming out anyway?

If you like fire emblem and can tolerate a niche anime style then youll like it, its got a ton of depth to leveling and grinding systems

There was a Yokai gameon the european stream, wasnt that YW2?

Man how can you be disappointed with a Direct that explicitly advertised "focused on ARMS and Splatoon 2" and instead we get all this stuff that actually ends up being something of a consistent output from now til Summer

We eatin' y'all, this was easily one of the better Directs in a while

Because it's GAF

The top down kirby game for 3DS looked really fun - wish it was coming to Switch though. I'm kinda surprised that, after making a big deal about it being Kirby's 25th anniversary, they didn't announce any Kirby games for Switch. Maybe they will, come E3?

Minecraft continues to sell like crazy. Have you seen NPD threads? Hasn't Minecraft been in the top 10 since forever?

Sure, it's just one more machine for the game to be on, but it's still a much bigger deal than you think it is.

I liked how snappy the Direct was (no pun intended). It's a problem Directs and Nintendo presentations have had in the past, sticking to things that weren't for everyone or lingering on information and taking their time.

This was super fast and actually engaging, even for things I won't be picking up.
