I think that's practically the definition of shoehorned. (And didn't she save Luke Cage in Jessica's apartment, too?)

The Iron Fist appearance was terrible. If she just showed up training at the dojo, fine. When she crossed into Season 3 Felicity level of defeating ninjas, it was just too much.

She's shown as being pretty tough/athletic by the time Luke Cage starts off and it's implied that she's been Colleen's student for a bit, iirc.
