Leaks.

Leaks everywhere.

The poor SU crew must be incredibly frustrated the show is constantly leaking spoilers and outright entire bombs within days of the actual episode premiere.

2-minute previews have been leaked(?) purposely released(?)..honestly I don't know. But here's a screen of
Topaz and Aquamarine:

Huge spoilers obviously, so click at your own risk.

Topaz is a big, beefy-lookin' piece of work (that body trapping this is awesome btw lol). I wonder how powerful she is in comparison to a singular full-grown, perfect quartz soldier like Jasper.
I mean...Jasper makes it seem like fighting type gems who have to fuse in order to be useful in battle are looked down upon and inherently weaker than her, but Pearl makes it seem like topaz gems are a big deal/threat.

continued speculation on leak spoilers

I wonder if the parallel between Topaz / Aquamarine and Jasper / Lapis is intentional.

Topaz almost seems like bizzaro Jasper; being a silent and entirely dutiful warrior as opposed to being a boisterous and bossy bruiser like Jasper. Aquamarine though...I'm not sure. All we really know is that she's ill-mannered, a trait that Lapis most certainly shares with her. lol

By making them pseudo-parallels to Lapis and Jasper, it may give us hints to how Homeworld has changed. When you think about it, the only Era 2 gem we've ever encountered is Peridot, and she's a second-generation gem. Some of the Ruby Squad like Leggy may be Era 2, but I guess Rubies being basic grunts means that nothing really changed for them. There's also the case for Holly Blue Agate possibly being Era 2, but she's overseeing the Rebellion-era Famethyst.

Maybe Topaz and Aquamarine being newer gems makes them a bigger threat and foreshadows how difficult fighting a modern Homeworld might end up becoming.

Anyone who has the Cartoon Network app and one of the associated cable providers: you can watch all five episodes from next week right now. I'm sure certain subreddits will provide links to those who do not have cable...

Sounds like the last episode, I Am My Mom, ends on a doozy.

Oooh boy, I'm marathoning this bomb on my iPad the second I get home from work tomorrow.

Well, time to avoid YouTube for a week.

Just wrapped up I Am My Mom...

I've had my fair share of problems with season four, but it had a solid ending. Sets up an interesting predicament for next season...

Well fuck. That was decent. There is one low key part that was really
sad. Sadie deserves a better class of boyfriend.

Also,
the cliffhanger-ish ending is pretty problematic because it requires very specific resolutions. All of which point to another rebellion already in progress or soon to start.

Wow that cliffhanger of an ending.

I need new episodes now!
Also I read some complaints about the structure of the bomb before it aired. People didn't like that townie episodes were breaking
up the overarching plot. But the Crewniverse nailed it. We got significant appearances from characters that were overdue, and the tease at the end of each episode! It was awesome.
I wonder what Lars and Steven are getting up to on that ship right about now??

Man the CN app sucks. One minute + commercials in the second between the end of the episode and the credits? The episode being abruptly cut off ruined some shit.

Lion 4 Alternate Ending:

That was straight I suppose, episode kinda felt out of place. Anyway though, hopefully that answer is good enough for Steven in the long run.

Doug Out:

Ah, he just wanted to look cool in front his daughter. Boring episode though until the end.

The Good Lars:

Thought this was going to be an episode full of Lars being annoying, his talk with Steven was straight though and unlike the others didn’t miss his presence in the rest of the episode.

Are You My Dad?:
Steven come on…..get out of the log earlier, it couldn’t have been that difficult with his strength.

I Am My Mom:

No Lapis or Peridot huh smh. Well interesting place to leave off at. Unfortunately Lars wasn’t in the water so he guess he still on the ship, that’s going to suck a lot.

Guess this wraps up the season? It was a pretty big mixed bag, got some of the worst episodes in the series but there were still a good handful that was really enjoyable. Just got too many strings of lackluster episodes.

I'm fucking pissed that's how this bomb ended. Waste of time, boring episodes all around except for the last two only because of the introduction of new homeworld gems.

It's a bomb that's serving a very different purpose than all the others apart from the second, in fairness.
It's not climactic in its own right, but it's setting up a very interesting position for the start of next season.

SPECULATION:
The ship never makes it to Homeworld, because Steven manages to turn Topaz to his side before they get there.

Mind you, those next four episode titles look very interesting in light of all of this...

I really enjoyed the last episode, but get where everyone else is coming from with the other four.

Also
LARS IS STILL ON THE SHIP

Townies still feel like they're just filling up air. I continue to be amazed with how badly the crewniverse drops the ball with them.

The episode with Connie's Dad had weird dialogue that felt artificial and trite.
I'm not sure what the point of the episode was besides the very end. I think that's sad. It almost seemed like they were just trying to fill up time. The Lars episode was better but not by much. The last two episodes + Lion 4 were the only decent ones.

Also, I actually like Aquamarine better in motion. She has a nice voice.

However, the last episode was awesome and I am extremely excited about what comes next.

I was skeptical, but that last episode was INTENSE. I can't wait to see what happens next.

I'm glad that they humanized Connie's dad. He's a better character than I gave him credit for.

This is the first time the townsfolk have interacted with the Homeworld Gems plot since... shit, maybe Joyride?

This is still my main complaint about the series- I have no issues with them being part of the show, it's just that they so rarely have any connection to the parts of the show I find the most interesting.

So the episodes have been released, huh? I think I know what I'll do on sunday.

And just as a reminder, the season 2 Bluray will ve released in Australia on may 24th. :)

Saw the bomb. And now I think people who complained about the townie episodes need to get some perspective. There's no way this bomb
has the emotional impact it does unless we spend some time with the human supporting cast.
Also, holy shit, the leaked episode titles are fucking crazy when taking into account
how this bomb ends.

Stuck Together - Steven being stuck with Lars, Aquamarine, and Topaz.

The Trial - Steven is put on trial for Rose's crimes. Do we actually make it to Homeworld? Or maybe it's just to the Zoo?

Off Colors - Steven maybe enlists the help of the "off color" Famethyst who recognize him.

In Lars' Head - After hearing that Homeworld intends to blow up Earth anyway (or maybe because he just wants to escape), Steven tries to hatch an escape plan by swapping bodies with Lars. Maybe Steven also fuses with Lars in an fandom melting moment.

Post-leaked Season 5 episode title speculation:
The question after that becomes whether or not Season 5 takes places entirely in space or if we're just getting a storyline stretching into the beginning of Season 5. I'd love it if they get rescued by the Gems since Peridot builds a ship to save them. She must feel awful knowing that she's part of the reason why Steven was captured. That could lead to some major character moments for her.

One more note:
Jesus, Aquamarine is such a piece of shit. She's easily the most hateable Gem that isn't a Diamond, Holly Blue Agate was a cruel suck-up who punched around her subordinates, but Aquamarine was an annoying evil sprite who seems massively overpowered. I was legit frightened when Topaz put her hand around Jamie's head like she was going to start squeezing. I'm glad we have some new pure villains like this. It gives the heroes something to overcome in a satisfying manner.

Not a bad episode in the bunch. Yes, even Lion 4, which made people angry after they saw the leak.

EDIT: Ok, ok, final note:
Steven is talking directly to Connie when he says "I love you" at the end, since she's the one yelling out for him at the moment. Yes, yes, it can be interpreted as him telling his family and friends that he loves them, but having Connie be the last one calling out for him is pretty significant.

This like some monkey's paw stuff for fans: Steven tells Connie he loves her, but only as he's letting himself be captured by Homeworld while she's begging him to stop.

bomb speculation

You might be right about
Off-Colors: the iTunes description for the volume these episodes will fall in say "Steven searches for answers about Rose Quartz, and is joined by some new allies." Really does seem like Steven's getting help from the inside.

Didn't really stack up to the other bombs imo

I definitely feel like this was the weakest, most mediocre bomb/arc yet.
The first three episodes were somewhat lame imo.
Lion 4 was incredibly disappointing; we learned nothing new other than Greg and Rose had enough common sense to realize that they might bring a girl into the world- which really sucks considering Lion episodes typically tend to do a lot of worldbuilding that adds to the mystery of the gem war and Rose herself.

Doug Out had some cute gags, but was ultimately pretty boring; it was just Doug invoking the goofy, ineffective dad shtick we've seen 80 million times with nothing happening for about 8 or so minutes.

The Good Lars was...fine I guess. But we already know that Lars has self-esteem issues, doesn't treat Sadie very well, and desperately wants to buy the favor of the cool kids...this characterization is old hat 4 seasons into the show. They don't need to keep hammering it into our heads, we get it already. And again...nothing really happened outside of Lars and Sadie getting kidnapped off-screen at the very, very end of the episode. Just a couple of cute, quirky happenings here and there. That's it.
Doug Out and The Good Lars really made this arc feel a bit...incongruous to say the least.

The last two episodes though, those were fantastic.
The drawing gag in "Are You My Dad?" was amazing; Pearl telling us she can't even draw a circle after producing a beautiful picture of a Not Lapis Lazuli ballerina lady was really amusing.

Oh and I LOVED that fight with Topaz on the ship in "I Am My Mom"; seeing Connie hold her own against such an intimidating and powerful foe without being Stevonnie was awesome. And I feel like they did a great job of conveying that Steven had a lot on his mind and wasn't in the best shape to fuse.

Aquamarine herself was also a highlight; I love that pompous little jerkwad haha.
It was honestly really cool to see a bratty, tiny Blue Diamond-aligned gem be in a position of power and milk her status to the fullest. I really wish we got to spend more time with her.

Overall though, that cliffhanger (alongside the new episode titles) has me pretty damned pumped. Hopefully we won't be waiting a long time for new episodes.

I watched the bomb, and I agree that it was largely mediocre.

Townies are a total waste of airtime. I don't care if those episodes are meant to establish emotional connections with Beach City, they're boring and ineffective.

The new gems are cool. The comparison to LapisxJasper are apt considering the similarities; I can't help but wonder if that was intentional. The fight in the ship was cool but it bothered me that Connie had no trouble clashing with Topaz. The gems have superhuman strength so a regular human child should not be able to block an attack so easily

Also, is it right to assume that blue gems hold a higher class than yellow? Aqua, Holly, and Sapphy all seem to hold a certain degree of authority over other gems, so it seems that blue gems are above the others.

These episodes were mostly setup for the future, but they still could have-and should have-been more satisfying than what we got.

uh.,... do we have any episodes confirmed after next weeks bomb or is that going to be the stopping point for a while.

Next set of episodes are scheduled to start on Memorial Day, so thankfully the wait won't be long.

A multi-month hiatus would be torture after this bomb
and its cliffhanger ending.
