I also think he's changed from Z. At least in Z he was willing to train people and we'd never see him upset if he hadn't had a good fight in a while. Anyway, I prefer super goku

Blue is the worst transformation. A fucking off screen color palette swap is not interesting in the slightest.
Hated it then, hate it now. Yeah lets make Goku a monkey despite that being the polar opposite of what Super Saiyan stands for.

But it wasn't a monkey. It was the progenitor of the whole Saiyan archetype. Becoming a great ape and then super Saiyan.

I never minded the off screen SSB stuff. SSG was the BIG TRANSFORMATION. SSB is literally just SSG mixed with their regular Super Saiyan ki. I honestly like how it was revealed in RoF. I don't think it needed a rageboost moment or whatever.
Except that great apes embody everything Goku rejected about Saiyans. And his strong heart achieved something far beyond that.
Every other Super Saiyan since then was the same, Vegeta got it until he lost his tail, Gohan too, Goten and Trunks didn't even have a tail and got it earlier than everyone else.
But yeah, the more monkey the more power!!
It was regressive as hell.
I love how Toriyama is giving that idea the middle finger every time we see the U6 saiyans.

Depends on how you want to look at it. I see it as the two sides working together and forming a stronger whole. Makes perfect sense.
Adding sparks to a pre-existing colour palette is just genius, however.

Lets be honest, ssj2 looks the way it currently does cause toriyama forgot that he made Gohan's hair entirely different during the transformation and that he forgot he did it in the first place
