Well
Lets be honest Freeza isn't much stronger. He beat a super weak Gohan, then absolutely got curb stomped by the SSB's like it was a game. Freeza only trained to beat the Super Saiyan class not the God class. I'd say Freeza isn't that much stronger than SS3. Taking into account that Gohan's SS2 in the Cell Saga was fairly close of Goku's SS3, Cell shouldnt be far off.

You couldn't be more wrong haha.

Aaaah undead-chan. Here you are.

Gonna take a second to thank karma, then rub into your face the fact that Piccolo's episode is the worst score of the entire series.

=)

King Cold knowing someone who has destroyed countless planets, something that's counterproductive to what he's doing, is more important to him presumably than knowing Dabura and Babidi. He probably knew of Dabura, but didn't know he was taken over by Babidi, so best case scenario the demon king had disappeared.
Dabura is from the Demon Realm though. He presumably wouldn't hang around in the main universe if it weren't for Babidi controlling him.

I'm kind of sad they didn't bring back King Cold in RoF. Blaming Pilaf.

Don't know if the training excuse would work for him, but either he'd be a less threatening opponent for one of the other Z fighters like Piccolo, assuming training wouldn't give him the same gains, or he does get stronger like Freiza and becomes a good opponent for Vegeta.

Low ratings for episodes with side characters is a bad sign of things to come. The big boys who call the shots make decisions based off of the success of the properties...

This arc seems like it's going to last into end of 2018 at earliest, so I doubt they're done animating even half of the arc.

My guess is that if low ratings continue for side characters, it's going to return to the Goku/Vegeta show...

Well it's not like the side characters are getting a chance, the recruiting episodes have gotten pretty repetitive.

Let's see what the feedback is after they actually fight in the tournament.

It's side characters without any enemy around either though, and this is probably the longest we've gone just with build up. I'd say it'll be a bad thing if the side character focused episodes still get low ratings during the tournament.

Id like to see One Piece's trend as well. If they still went down during that terrific Big Mom intro I gotta think theyll see it as just a coincidental slump

Let's engage in a scientific experiment. Let's see how many unique sentences with the phrase "fighting poachers" it takes to make Slaythe literally shit himself in rage. We must not rest until he has to buy new pants.

yeah that's been a thing

goku goes to recruit guy, guy is reluctant, goku gets owned or helps the other person, goku says "oh I learned something"

krillin and 17 were ok but buu was p short, and tenshinhan was weird

it definitely has gone far too long

Just hopped back into Super, watching the latest Roshi episode. I recall him being a pervert, but when did the dude become a straight up rapist? Also Goku just ignoring that shit was something else, that sick fuck.

Edit WHAT THE FUUUUUUCCCKKK
Is Freiza really coming back and replacing Buu?

So I'm guessing you don't remember the time in DB where he felt up an unconscious woman in front of an audience?
Well

Talk about remembering wrong. Golden Freeza was wrecking Goku until he drained too much of his energy.

The ratings are still higher than 90% of anime airing right now.
As long as merch is still selling it's not an issue. The ratings will probably pick up again when the tournament starts.

I feel like there were also times where Roshi ran at women, the intent being he wanted to touch them, only for Bulma or someone else to get in his way.

There was also the incident with 18 in Z. Which was actually probably one of the first Roshi gonna Roshi moments in Z, besides Saiyan saga Roshi. Then Elder Kai became our Roshi for the rest of the saga.

End of 2018? Just doing some bad napkin math, aren't there like 21 episodes left in the year? Without knowing anything from the previews, I'd think we're halfway through:

Beerus - 14
Freeza - 12
Champa - 18
Zamasu - 29
Jiren - 12

I don't care as long as the characters are used well and not just there to keep the plot going longer than it should. Looking at you Android/Cell Saga.

yeah I think normally he would grab a titty or touch someone's butt but be immediately hit over it

this is the first time he is left alone with a girl

Piccolo Jr saga > Freeza saga > Saiyan saga > Goku Black saga > Buu saga > Tenshinhan saga > Cell saga > I don't feel like doing the rest of this saga > Red Ribbon saga without Taopaipai and General Blue

Sometimes I feel like the only guy who likes Buu.

Well, at least he hurt himself from seeing just a tiny bit of skin, he went flying through a wall.

Here's my take.
Tournament won't start until the 18th or 19th episode of the arc, then the tournament will last 2-4 episodes and then something big will happen and the REAL purpose of the arc stars.

Oh, arc ranking again. In my opinion that no one cares about:

Namek/Frieza Saga
King Piccolo
Future Trunks
Buu Saga
22nd World Martial Arts Tournament
Red Ribbon Army
Pilaf Saga
Saiyan Saiyan
23rd World Martial Arts Tournament
21st World Martial Arts Tournament
Champa Saga
Battle of Gods
Resurrection 'F'
Android/Cell Saga

I put GT in its own ranking since I don't like mixing GT with the above:

Baby
Black Star Dragon Balls
Shadow Dragons
Super 17

Universal Survival Saga: TBD

Note: To be clear, I don't hate any story arc in Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, or Dragon Ball Super. As much as I may rag on the Android/Cell Saga I still find it decent. The only arc in the entire franchise that I really don't like is Super 17.

I love me some Saiyans, but the other characters deserve some shine. I want to see them do some work, and have some relevance.

The Dragon Ball fandom in a nutshell despite what some may think if you read the response online.

Piccolo Jr saga > Freeza saga > Saiyan saga > Goku Black saga > Buu saga > Tenshinhan saga > Cell saga > I don't feel like doing the rest of this saga > Red Ribbon saga without Taopaipai and General Blue

You're not alone my friend.

I feel like Roshi is actually a masochist who likes getting beat up by women and the natural high from extreme blood loss. That's why he lowers his power level and gets himself get knocked around by people with no training. That's also why he kept Launch around.

Super 17 was just boring. Goku was in Hell, bullshit reasons kept him in Hell, Frieza and Cell are a problem for Goku and somehow freeze him. the dying while dead means existence wiped out was gone, Piccolo has to connect with Dende to build a bridge. Hell characters from the past just wasn't done that well. And every single thing about 17 was just uninteresting.

It was cool that characters were working together to plot against Goku, and it actually works. It's cool that 18 gets a moment to help Goku fight 17, I think she even threatens to use her bomb even though ti's gone. And Vegeta killing Nappa was probably my favorite moment of the arc. Everything else felt lackluster. On paper Super 17 has potential, and should have been something executed a lot better.

I just genuinely appreciated the fight. Sure the story was crap, but I got the fight I wanted. More than that, I felt the Super17 fight did more to illustrate a scale of greater power than any fight since cell saga. We got Kai attacks fired from different hemispheres, punches that fling opponents across the globe, it was glorious. Its like my Broli movie

Problems I have with Super 17.

How did Gero find the parts needed to build a perfect clone of 17? Did Hell get Circuit City when it closed down?

Why didn't Gero interact with Cell, his greatest creation that actually killed Goku? Why not have him absorb the two 17s and make him Ultra Perfect Cell or something?

Why did Cell stay in hell to fight Goku. He has never shown a personal grudge with Goku and it was Gohan who humiliated and killed him.

How did this merger of 17 even work?

Why is Piccolo trap in hell?

I am sure there's more, but these are the problems off the top of my head.

Well yeah but Piccolo is so irrelevant that's the best he's ever gonna get at this point.

That's cold even by my standards.

Well shouldn't the bigger issue being :

How did Gero control the real 17 when the whole point was that 17 can't be controlled ... ?

Also Cell doesn't keep the infinite energy of 17 so I guess that's why. Not that it matters cause the whole arc is hot garbage.

Dragon Ball ended Fiscal Year 2017 making twice as much money for Bandai than One Piece and wasn't too terribly far behind the number 1, Gundam. Dragon Ball's growth was nearly double from the previous fiscal year.
Bandai expects the IP to make less money this year (Still expected to be #2 by a pretty sizable percentage), maybe there is no big game set for this fiscal year?

Slaythe, UndeadFantasy... Please take your squabbling to PMs or something. It's really tiring and not appropriate for this thread.

If a new game is announced at E3, then it should release this fiscal year.

But also, Xenoverse is a super casual game meant to get all types of players on board. If they are making a "big game" that is more competitive and doesn't have 100 characters, you can see why they wouldn't expect it to be as big as Xenoverse, as it would be aimed at a different crowd of players.

I actually touched upon this if you remember, saying the success of XV allows them to have different projects that are not as profitable, but gets them more exposure elsewhere. It's about covering different aspects of the gaming scene.

Just for a bit more detail, Dragon Ball made 60.1 billion yen for Bandai in the recent fiscal year, that's 527 million USD.

Fair enough.
