Sony Playstation: First Party Studios & their Current Projects

With that said, someone in another thread I think was claiming that Demon Souls 2 is a thing due to info he received from a family member who works at a Sony studio.

Take with a grain of salt and all.

Yeah i know, though it's hard to believe it. Even the Demon's Souls Remaster sounds unlikely. We'll see i guess.

They didn't really need to show TLoU II at PSX but they did. I wouldn't completely rule out something for E3.

I would prefer they save everything for PSX though. More time in between and it doesn't get shown too much. I know some may be thinking "how can TLoU II be shown too much?" but I just like it when we get substantial updates over bits and piece over time.

I kinda feel like they did need to have something like that though

They ended PSX2015 with Paragon and got slammed on for it. And showing up at that show was a Naughty Dog move, Neil said its their favorite show.

Demon Souls not not remotely more popular than Bloodborne nor has it come close to BB sales.

If Sony wanted another game from FROM it makes very little sense to go for Demon's Souls 2 as opposed to Bloodborne 2. Bloodborne is more recent and more popular so if there's going to be a sequel it makes much more sense for it to be a sequel to that.

ND should give all limelight to UC TLL this year.
Save TLoU PART II for E3 2018.

Also ND are terrible with their gameplay trailers in that they tend to ruin their best moments in a game.
Look at e3 15 with the jeep demo, who the hell OK'd spoilering that?

At Gamescom 2011, they showed the crazy ass plane sequence.
Their games are magnificent, and the gamplay demos are awesome but too spoilerific in nature for me. Go dark ND.

Yeah, it was a benefit for PSX but I mean more from Naughty Dog's perspective. They just finished UC4 and they announced Uncharted The Lost Legacy in the same show. There was no rush for the TLoU II announcement.

I agree, but these are easily the most impressive parts of the game and the easiest to market, so the mandate to show these sections probably comes from Sony.

Dreams :O

Edit: It's from Kareem's Dreams talk from the VFXFestival.

I mean, Sony has plenty of big stuff to show. If they didn't, sure, I could see TLoU II being a definite but they don't really need to show it.

Heck, the fact that it was announced at PSX speaks for itself. They could have saved that for next month.

I know some people who aren't up-to-scratch with video game news think The Last of Us Part II is a 2017 game because of that reveal last PSX. I'd rather it go away for another 12 months instead of having to address them again.

None of those games (that aren't named Gran Turismo) will be as big as TLoU 2

Whilst it probably won't look good for Dreams sales, I think I'm gonna pick it up after a few months. I'm so bad at building these sort of worlds but I really can't wait to play what other people make.

I think we'll see TLoU 2 at the presser, but it won't be anything fancy. Another short scene focused on character interactions maybe. Our first glimpse at an (even) older Joel would be a good bet.

I agree with Drifting though, Sony don't really need to show it and I don't think there's much pressure on them to do so. They're holding so many cards right now that they can play any matter of different hands and still deliver a satisfying conference. If TLoU gets ignored, but we're still shown the likes of GoW, Spider-Man, Death Stranding, FFVII, Kingdom Hearts 3 and Gran Turismo, then most people aren't going to begrudge them for a lack of naughty dogs.

Please come out of your hidey-hole and make a big splash at E3 Dreams, pleeeeease.

Right, that is what I am saying. In terms of having a great show and satisfying the majority, that can easily be done without TLoU II being shown. They have so much as is.

I can't wait to see the reveal of Dreams' proper campaign. They have the tools now to create something amazing.

I love the way Kareem talked about the user experience. Dreams Netflix that leads to building playlists and then nabbing favored assets and tossing them into new levels which starts people into building their own assets.

Even though I haven't had a lot of time to play video games lately (and for the foreseeable future), I'm feeling the E3 hype. So many potential reveals or more in depth looks at games previously announced.

I don't see TLOUP2 being talked about at E3 let alone being shown. Naughty Dog is most likely finishing up Uncharted: The Lost Legacy which I think will open up the press conference as it would only be two months away at this time and once that releases, then Naughty Dog goes into full development mode for TLOUP2.

What we saw at PSX was cool but I don't want another CG trailer as they do nothing for me. Bad enough im expecting yet another CG trailer for Death Stranding at E3 so no thanks to two of them. Both games should go away as I don't see either being released until 2020.

This would be a really bad thing to announce during their press conference. They wouldn't really get cheers and get sarcastic claps instead. It's better off as something they announce quietly in a firmware update on the blog.

The only way they could pull it off is if they announced it as part of a "PSN 2.0" where it was just one of a dozen improvements.

Dreams is the most impressive game I've seen, like ever. MM just need to figure out a way to get the game working without the move controller, if that happens I think the game could end up big. Whatever happens, it seems to have gone way beyond what a game is, more like a program which could be useful for other games.

I am in awe at that game, no other game makes me go WTF when I see a screen.

Most impress by their rendering technique, no polygon like WTF?
Marketing team really need to come up with a cool idea to sell it, kids angle, sandbox angle, whatever, please don't botch Sony.

They've used the dual shock before in streams

Not really. I mean, my name's been awesome from day one but given how many people complain about how they wish they could change their name, I honestly can't see how name changes wouldn't get a huge applause.
